They weren't trying to cross a border - the US does this dumb **** on their borders where they put immigration/federal law checkpoints up to 100 miles away from the actual border.

Right you are ... "According to a criminal complaint by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Robinson, Bray and an unidentified third person were driving from Los Angeles to Louisiana in a rented car through a remote section of West Texas. When they passed a Border Patrol agent with a drug-sniffing dog, the animal detected the scent of marijuana. The agent radioed ahead to a checkpoint where the patrol inspected the vehicle, finding several large duffel bags containing marijuana. Also found were glass jars and packaging equipment, along with $3,100 in cash."

  2. It just gets better ... "When they approached secondary inspection at the Sierra Blanca checkpoint near the US border with Mexico, Robinson told the Uber driver he would pay them to claim the marijuana, the complaint said, according to the release. The driver refused and said they would not have driven had they known about the drugs."

Sure, and maybe I am out-of-touch with these things nowadays, but is weed even a thing any more? I mean, it is far from a performance enhancing drug. Likely just the opposite. I thought cocaine was the drug of choice among athletes nowadays -- improves performance, clears the system quickly, is easier to hide/transport, doesn't reek, and is much more profitable.

Not that I want to give Hefney a pass... but Greg Robinson is a whole different level of stupid... he was a second overall pick in the NFL... even is he flames out (which he was on track to do)... he'll still have a life time earnings of give or take $20-30M...

can't guarantee either of these sites are accurate... but they're at least close...

Oh I agree completely. I have a ton of compassion for Hefney and the circumstances of his incarceration. This, as you say, is on a whole different level.

Reports claim the weed was found in duffle bags in the back of their vehicle that was sniffed out by a dog at the border crossing. No attempt to hide the weed or cover up the smell. Nothing. Just brazenly in the open. The mind boggles at how in the world these gentlemen thought they were just going to drive across the border into the U.S. like that. Were they just that stupid? Sure looks that way.

I agree but ill bet it was MOS who made those decisions. Stubborn with his vets and all.

Agree. I think it was O'Shea too. However, the club made a lot of the changes it had to make to win last season so that gives me hope that the stubborn one is no longer stubborn to the point of hurting the team's chances to win and/or develop it's players. For example, replacing Hecht with Alexander. Had O'Shea not made that change do we run the table as we did? Doubtful. I think O'Shea made a quantum leap in maturity as a head coach last season.

Agreed. I know the Bombers are high on McGuire but man, with Collaros's injury history I wouldn't be comfortable with a QB2 that has thrown 3 passes in his career. Im not a Jennings fan but at the right price I wouldn't hate him here.

Bubba, have you seen any highlight packages of McGuire? They talk about him throwing dimes and how it's unfair to the DBs. He sure looks like he has field general qualities and knows how and when to hit a receiver. He's here because he has something special much like Streveler did except I think McGuire is more of a pure passer than Strevs was. He moves the pocket and sets himself up well. He throws his receivers open. His field vision appears to be outstanding and he hits his receivers at top speed and in stride.

With Harris in the backfield and an OL like ours I think he can excel at the CFL game. That's why I am so pumped about this season. I don't think we have anything to worry about at QB. I see McGuire being a future superstar with this team.

Agreed. I truly believe Adams is a top 10-15 receiver in the CFL. He's just been held back by the combo of Nichols(risk averse) and Lapo(ultra conservative play caller). Open up the passing game and he would excel. Im excited to see what he can do with Collaros/Buck.

This. I'm hoping to see a break-out season from this offence that'll remind us of the Khari Jones era. To me the biggest deals we've made were saying goodbye to Lapo and Nichols. That may sound harsh, and I don't mean any disrespect, they both have their value and I thank them for their contributions, but I'm looking forward to watching Buck show us what he can do with a true gunslinger and multiple boxes of ammo.

Adams was always a deep threat in Lapo’s offence and in case you didn’t notice Coombs is not Harris ha

also if you think Buck is going to be wildly different than Lapo you’re prob in for a surprise

Agreed on Adams and Coombs (Ha!) I'm just imagining how potent our offense would be with Walker to stretch the field vertically and Zach's ability to connect with his receivers deep down field.

We'll see about Buck, especially if he's got deep threats besides Adams. Adams/Walker would be one hell of a one-two punch.

If I was Ottawa I’d pay him 280 for one year so Arbuckle has someone to throw to

LOL! Darrell Walker playing in a Lapo schemed offense. Now that's funny!

I'm with Nolby on this one. Walker may like the idea of playing with Zach and a team of defending Grey Cup champions with an exciting new offensive coordinator. It'd be a real nice fit for him and Walters is creative enough financially to put together a package they could both live with. I'd be over the moon to see Walker in blue and gold.

I mean ... they could do a proper rebuild. This just seems silly though. Unless their scouts can find an entirely brand new wealth of depth.

Giving almost a million dollars away for the combination of Matt Nichols, TJ Jones and Davaris Daniels is ridiculous.

Totally agree. I don't understand the Argos moves at all.

Walters also mentioned that they had to pay $20,000 above market rate to get Bryant to come to Wpg. in the first place,  Stanley isn't stupid, he's going to get paid, especially after winning the CFL's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman award twice and being nominated for the award by his team 5 times in his career.

What happened with the awards last year was a bloody disgrace. Bryant easily should have won it again.

not to mention the times the QB looked for his first read and Willie was in way...or would have impeded it and the QB had to look elswhere, reulting in a sack..and failed play..things that dont show on a stat sheet..and it happens every game

LOL! With that wing span Willie doesn't have to be "in the way".

Paul poking around in our fa list.....Alls fair ...so what do the RedB's have that we might want heh heh...Lapo wants to screw with us eh.....LOL....Just kidding but you just know, he knows our personnel like the back of his hand....Tried and failed with Darvin and glad he did

Adams is a smart cookie and Lapo knows it. I don't think Adams wanted any part of Lapo and that mess in Ottawa. Lapo had it good in Winnipeg. It's going to be very different in Ottawa.

Remember when he drew Willie J.-level attention from us before signing as a fa with The Als.?

Yes, I do. I know he was good but what I always remember about him was the lack of discipline and bad penalties. He'd go off-side at the most inopportune times. Drove me to frustration.
