My take was that to get to that game we had to beat Calgary in Calgary and then Sask in Sask. Hamilton only had to beat Edmonton in Hamilton. Who was better battle hardened? You saw the result yesterday.

without a doubt... our Bombers were road tested against the toughest competition in the playoffs... it should have been no surprise to anyone that they would come out and smack the TiCats right in the mouth...

I'm going to include myself so, thanks. I fell in love with this team 50 years ago and have witnessed a few Grey Cup victories but this was the best one by far. Welcome to my Blue Bomber family!

50 years... wow... yes, I was speaking directly to you. lol... proud to be a part of the family and hopefully we can share many more Cups to come!

Hey man you deserve it just as much...YOu been a loyal follower on both sites...an actual vested true fan...and supporter as well as honest critic...enjoy brother..and hope to see you at a game this summer

thx. booch... I really appreciate the fact that you can see that I am a honest and true fan for the Bombers... I'll be in Winnipeg next year for sure and I'll look you up, my friend!

  3. apologize if this has already been mentioned somewhere else but,..

Noeller, did I see you on TV? were you wearing a brown sock hat and sitting with an older gentlemen wearing wearing a Bomber jersey and round glasses?  if so I did, lol...

honeslty, as a 3 year follower of the Bombers and the CFL I don't deserve this so I want to congratulate you, the Bomber fans, as well as the Bombers, for hanging in there and staying true blue! God bless you all!

  4. I'm not trying to convince any of you to change your mind on how you feel about Osh, I'm just stating how I feel about the deal... I stated publicly on this forum before that last two playoff games that I wanted Osh, Lapo, and Hall, all 3, gone for next year... 2 playoff wins haven't changed my mind... if nothing else, I'm consistent, lol...

I did qualify that statement by saying that if I had to keep one and only one of them it would be Osh... but again, that is only if I had too...

for me, once again it's just my opinion, a 'great' head coach wouldn't have this inconsistency that we've experience in performance, both offense and defense, that we regularly have and have had... something doesn't translate from the chalk board to the playing field... those inconsistencies cost us 1st place in the West this year and home field advantage... did it work out anyway?  it did... but it's not the hill I want to climb year in and year out...

you won't win them all, but I'm not happy with giving away games either... Osh is a 'good' coach, a great player's coach, and seems to be a real good guy...  but he isn't a 'great' coach... a great coach also has the ability to influence and lead his coordinators as well... that to me is where he fails... coordinator failure is on the head coach and when you see it happening regularly it signals a problem in my eyes...

Couldn't have explained that place better myself! I started to post there because most of my interactions with Rider fans in person have actually been pretty good and thought I could talk football there, boy was I wrong! There is something about the Internet and Rider fans that seem to make them intolerable.

I have to agree... last year the night before the Banjo Bowl I was at The Keg having dinner some friends and a whole table of Rider fans came in and were seated next to us... one of the guys I was dining with was Poop and one of the Rider fans recognized him and engaged all of us in conversation... they were very cordial and had nothing but nice things to say about the game and the Bombers... you can't, or maybe shouldn't, hold the sins of a small group of idiots against the whole of the group... I guess... on second thought... eff the Riders! lol...

Artie Johnson passed away on July 3 of this year. I enjoyed watching him on "Rowan and Martins Laugh In". Boy that was a long time ago.

I thought I  had remembered seeing that somewhere this year... I too watched Laugh In, not as much a matter of choice, actually quite the opposite... but when you're a kid and your mom and dad picked what was on the only TV in the house you either watched along with them or found something to break, burn, or otherwise destroy... lol... makes me laugh now though... we had a 20 something inch black and white console TV, no remote as you actually had to get up and go over and turn the dial, that picked up the only 3 channels you could get most of the time without having to move the antenna... those were the days...

  7. this is another one of those times that fall under 'winning fixes everything', lol.,.. Osh is a great 'players coach' but not a great football coach... how quickly we forgot all of the dumb coaching moves he has made, especially in big games... 2016 playoffs? 2017 playoffs? field goal and fake punt anyone?  and there have been many 'in game' gaffs along the way... his use of challenges, or not using them... you know them, you've witnesses them... and lets stop and think for just a moment, what would all have been saying  about not pulling Streveler if ZC came out in the next game and on the 1st play he suffers another concussion... which was a very real possibility...  or he just failed miserably... slightly less probable but possible, nobody could know for sure... there would have been a mob in the street with pitch forks and torches looking for him...

maybe being a good leader of men is enough as he does seem to be that, but he's not a great football mind... like I said, winning fixes everything...

  8. I disagree... I don't think Osh had any plans to play ZC... he said the week before they traded for him that they weren't looking for a QB... Walters was though... I figured that Walters got ZC for fan optics as many were screaming that we didn't have anyone but McQuire if Streveler got hurt, so, he made a trade... however, Lapo had different ideas than Osh...

speaking of Osh and his loyalty, I feel he would have maintained that loyalty to CS if not for the injury... after all, if we're going to be honest, Streveler wasn't playing that bad... even though his record prior to going into the Calgary game was 3-4 he had played well enough to have actually been 5-2, and this was against the top half of each division... should have won the LDC and we won't even get into the Montreal debacle...

so, heading into the Calgary game we should have been 12-4 and soundly in first place of the west... in the Calgary game it was said above that CS was ineffective... which isn't true... he took a lead into half time and regained the lead once again in the fourth... however the D once again let him down... 33 pts, the amount we scored should have been enough to win that game... only 4 other times in 2019 out of 180 games played had a team scored 33 or more pts and lost... but D lets down and CS gets hurt... does Lapo pull him, no... in fact he continues to call his number to the point the guy can hardly stand back up... they do pull, but not for the game, they send him back in and again, call his number... at this point even the Calgary fans are screaming 'geez, your QB is hurt pull him before you kill him' (ok, I'm making that part up, but, you get the idea)... no, we just keep calling his number until crap is breaking in CS's body...

Lapo was all in for ZC and got his wish... which is fine, it's worked out for us in the end, but, at the cost of hurting a player... how else do you explain the chain of events in that Calgary game? if not, you'd have to say that our coaches or too stupid, blind, or just didn't give a **** about CS and possible long term injury...

short answer, no, if not for the injury ZC would not have seen the field... chain of events makes Osh look like a genius when it was actually dumb luck on his part and dose of "I don't give a **** about CS" on Lapo's part... 😀

Can not help but agree! Really is upsetting me that I have to fly out to the "Excited States" tomorrow around noon time here in Calgary. Our company has 4 tickets and I would have gotten 2 of them but had to give them up! I will be in Denver prior to the game starting but doubt I will be able to pick it up on any of the channels in the Hotel (Marriott has poor selection of channels if memory serves me correctly). And it Sunday so every channel will have NFL on I would think.

In any event taping the game and will watch just as soon as I can get back home.

Best of luck to the Bombers - Hope they pull this one out for all the long time fans in the Peg!

Every hotel carries ESPN, at least every one that I've stayed at, and if they have ESPN they generally carry ESPN2 as well, which is the channel that it's on here so you should be good to go...

evidently Bighill isn't very well liked on this team... no team mate that liked you would let you go out on the field looking like that if there was even the slightest chance of a picture being taken, let alone posted on twitter... lol

what is up with those shorts?  that's a whole lot of look he has going on there...  lol...

I haven't shaved & have a playoff beard going strong. Haven't had a haircut since early August. That's not from superstition. I'm just lazy & like the former Winnipegger I am, I'm cheap.

that's not restricted to just Winnipeg... I cut my own hair to save the $8 at the barber shop... after all, I can't see it anyway so what do I care...

Just saying what I read last night. I never saw one thank you. I was surprised how some dismissed this place as being inferior. Anyway, water under the bridge. We can continue this or let it go. I advise we let it go.

that's just not true, I created a thread for the sole purpose of saying 'thank you' and that I appreciated the fact that the members here were very gracious and accommodating for those coming from TEP... but I'll also say I did so because I felt it was warranted... but I'm not trying to turn this discussion into a you vs. me or here vs. there deal... the two places are pretty much night and day from each other, not only in appearance but also in discussion... both places have their plus' and minus' (is that how you do that, with a ' after the s? I don't know, lol) so depending on what you find enjoyable you will ultimately pick one or the other...

personally, I like discussing the Bombers, it's players, the organization, and the play of the game... I like both and will continue to post at both... if I had to pick a 'home' I'd have to say TEP just because I've been there longer...  but regardless, if I'm sitting in a bar somewhere and at another table there is either MBB members or TEP members, it doesn't matter which, and some thugs come up and start giving them ****... I'm there... it's on like donkey kong, lol... I've got your back... for me I don't need to draw that line in the sand and pick one or the other, I hope others don't feel I need to as well...
