Got to tell you my favorite Brock memory - Lived in Dallas at the time but my wife is from the Peg. Came up late fall one year and my in laws took me to the game. First time I had see a CFL wide field. Wow! In any event it was in the first quarter and the bombers had the ball on the right hash mark. Brock dropped back and faded to his right then threw across the field to the left side stripes - must have been 40-50 yrds or so maybe more. I was sitting right in front of the receiver only a few rows up. Don't remember who the receiver was at the time. The ball never was higher than probably 8 ft or so - perfect spiral! the ball hit the receiver with such force it knocked him down. There was no D Back around him! Never ever saw an arm like Brock had never will again!

Morning Big Blue!
Had to watch the game this morning as I couldn't view the game live yesterday.
Calgary with the 3rd and two gamble early, Bo thought he could throw for 2 yards, and the play gets called back for holding. Made me think, if a team gambles on 3rd down, and takes a holding penalty, they should lose the down too. Anyone agree? Too radical?
On the first Zack INT, he is throwing to Adams and Adams takes himself completely out of the play. Geez, I wish he'd at least try to go get the ball. So soft.
On the hook-slide by Zack early on, it sure looked like a targeted head shot to me. Zack is down and sliding on his butt when he gets drilled. Glad the defender missed and Zack's shoulder took most of the collision. Definitely had me whincing. Suitor saying the hit is legal because the head shot was launched before Zack slid. What a moron that man is.
The 3-man rush is just crazy. Bo with way too much time (as Suitor told us ad nauseum) and if his receivers had had a better day, he eviscerates us.

Oh man, Calgary getting away with all the late stuff, particularly a hit on Demski after he had brought the ball well into the end zone, yet Exume gets flagged for a borderline hit out of bounds. This reffing crews doesn't like the Bombers, do they?
Jefferson gets tackled from behind on the rush. no call. Calgary getting away with lots of holding.
Mayala with the scoop off the turf on the 2 yard line. Osh should have challenged that. Next play, TD Calgary. Damn! Calgary with two, long TD drives already. 14-10 Calgary.
Rogers with the ****-move running up the stairs to show off to the fans. What a knob.
Our D doing the same things as last game and getting the same results. Really? No adjustment Richie?
Mayala interviewed at the half, in a very even game to this point, delusional in saying the Stumps should be blowing us out. Is everyone on this team a tool?
Medlock having a great day kicking giving us a very short field. Lawler with the quick TD. Very nice. Courtney Stephens with the late head shot on Lawler in the end zone. No call. 17-14 Bombers.
Bomber D starting to send the heat and gets a sack by Bighill. Wow. That only took a game and a half for Hall to adjust his D. Impressive. There's hope for this game.
Calgary with the clothesline on Grant. Flag thrown. Calgary doesn't handle adversity very well. It seems if you push back on them they get rattled and start playing dirty football. Go Blue! Keep it coming!
Adams finally goes after a ball and saves an INT.

Begelton absolutely destroyed by Maston with a completely clean hit. Of course, the flag is thrown and Dickenson is lobbying for an ejection. What a whiny ***** Dickenson is. Terrible call by the officials.

YIKES! Zack throws what should have been a pick to McMannis. Whew! Glad he dropped that.
Richie Hall keeps sending numbers and it's paying off. However, Calgary over 300 yards passing now and it's not even the 4th quarter yet.
Hall back to rushing 3. Bo with all day back there. Easy TD throw to Mayala. Why Richie, why? Now Calgary throws the easy 2-point conversion. 28-19 Calgary. Not looking good.

Adams lucky not to get flagged there. He broke off his route. O'Shea challenge? WTF? Nothing there, lost challenge. Don't understand that.
Lawler emerging as the #1 receiver on this team.
Hall sends the house again. Bo spots it and hits Begelton in the hands. Begelton drops it. Dickenson challenges and whines that Maston was early. Loses challenge.

2:00 left. Harris sets record. Congrats Andrew! 28-26 Calgary.
Bombers driving for a FG. Bailey with a clutch catch. 3rd down gamble. Yes. Bailey again. 3rd down gamble. Yes. 1st and 10. Hand-off to Harris ... he rips off 11! Harris with the bobblehead! Yes!! I love it! Harris runs it in front of the uprights for Medlock. 00:03 left. Medlock with the kick ... Yes. Bombers win.
Good way to end the regular season. Bombers 11th win. Go Blue!

Good god- when was the last time we saw this in Blue and Gold?
 
 

Said it before and will say it again: I feel awful for Matt Nichols both on a professional and personal level. This is an absolutely terrible break for the guy.
As it relates to the Bombers though, I think the bigger loss is Nichols as a backup.  I would have loved to have him backup Strev the rest of the way.  It sucks being one Strev injury away from going to our third stringer.
Even before the injury, I thought Streveler gave us the best chance to win each week. Ultimately I think its best for the Bombers to continue to build the offense around him, hope LaPolice doesn't make him a glorified running back, and see where it leads us. I think we are still very much a Grey Cup contender.

"We always lose Labour Day" is a horrible take after a game like that.

6:30 PM – Complimentary yard long Shawarma, from Obby Khan.
7:00 PM – Free ride around the stadium, in Captain Blue’s airplane.
7:30 PM – Performing ceremonial kickoff, after coin toss.
8:00 PM – Short roaming gig, as CJOB cynical sideline reporter
Halftime – Invitation to the 55 yard line – to receive gifts, including life long supply of gin
Halftime – Interview with TSN panel
10:00 PM – Rigged 50/50/draw

 I realize you are quite busy – but I am sure that you agree - it is important that these arrangements go off, with a hitch.  
Btw – when years ago, I called you “Friar Tuck” on Our Bombers, I was actually referring to your generosity and genial good nature.

It’s a legitimately good point that Black on the call is bad for the growth of the CFL. The guy is the dictionary definition of clueless. He jumps to conclusions during the play (he called a play incomplete because the defender was waving his arms while the referee was signalling a catch), sticks to his narrative (constantly made reference to how well Masoli was playing despite throwing three picks, and basically ignored an endzone pick of Masoli’s because it came directly after Black stated that this play could be a dagger for the Als), gets players wrong, obsesses over minute and unimportant details but most importantly he just talks and talks and talks and never once has anything interesting to say. Literally never. 

HH to Dunigan for having the balls to stick to his assertion that Adams should have high pointed the ball, even after the replay showed his head was being removed from his shoulders at the time.

1 Lucky. His amazing plays to score won the game.
2 Nevis. Mashed up the middle and was even running down plays from behind.
3 Kick cover teams. Lots of guys with hard hits, and great coverage.

Honorable mention to hecht for some big hits and causing late aligator arms. 

What i want to see 
1) Lots of Jet Packages.
2) Pistol formations. 
3) more Jet Packages.
4) Long bombs down the field that are over thrown.
If the Harris and CO deploy that formula we are in good shape.

And keys to the game:
1. Get a beat on the Edmonton pressure look and if they seem more apt to bring extra rushers, use the screen, swing pass or draw.  If they're more backed away from the line, bait em up with a lot of play action to fire down field for Adams or Matthews.
2. Move Hecht around a bit to try and confuse Harris a bit and make him try a few throws he's not comfortable with.
3. Special teams must come through big

I've gone to 10-15 live bomber games since I moved from Ottawa to Seattle in 1999. Couple games in Winnipeg, mostly games in BC, one in Montreal.
They are 0-fer in those games.  In fact, I have not seen a Bomber win live since 1996, when the Bombers beat Ottawa in the very last Rough Riders home game.
Was certain that they'd break my personal streak this year in BC. Goddammit, Medlock.

man, it was a bit messy tonight but the team looked elite. cal and wpg are the class of the cfl. randall's pick sealed it but the d smothered things all night and our o has been balanced and unflappable every game.. i love it. clean win even when medlock was off. lline play was tight on both sides. we're gonna be cheering well into the playoffs boys!! 

More valuable than a bag of footballs, eh? What a trade that was!

Really curious how bad Leggett is. We really need that guy. 

1. Randle - no question
2. Harris - guy is a beast - leading rusher and receiver - can never forget that he carries the entire offence on his back
3. Alexander - up against some tough competition tonight, thought he played his heart out
Santos-Knox - all over the place and showing real leadership

They were ready to play. I'm glad for Medlock we didn't lose this game. He'll be fired up for Hamilton. 

Honestly the stamps look beatable this year and I for one was saying during this game it's great to see the bombers have finally utilized the Harris/Flanders combo effectively (unlike last year). That will pay dividends in november

This D is finally tightened up. What I like about this team is the continual improvement. If we fire on all cylinders we could definitely beat any team in front of us.
