Ducky reacted to Rich in Frolik Conundrum
I wouldn't go that high in Frolik which is why he is unlikely to sign here.

Ducky reacted to mbrg in Frolik Conundrum
Just can't do it. The cap makes it a bad decision. Let Toronto pay him 5$.

Ducky reacted to Brandon in Frolik Conundrum
Simply don't pay the guy.. Whenever H & L have someone on and they ask them about Frolik nearly every hockey expert says he's good but never do they say he's great.
He won't be impossible to replace.

Ducky reacted to The Unknown Poster in UFA and RFA
Any way you slice it there is no excuse for being that bad for that long with those pics. It shows you that talent isn't everything. It's having the right talent in the right positions. It's about building a team not just choosing the consensus number one every year.
I have little doubt the oilers will make drastic improvements one day.

Helle will be called up after the trade deadline when we dump Pavelec to Edmonton after the Oilers make a cup push with Yakupov leading the league in scoring.

Ducky reacted to Rich in UFA and RFA
The problem with Yakupov is that after 3 years in the NHL, the guy hasn't lived up to the hype of a 1st overall pick.
You can sit here and speculate that the problems lay on the shoulders of a coach, and that may be true, only time will tell. But as of today, Yakupov hasn't yet proven he deserved to be taken 1st overall. So far, you would have to say he is a bust. It will be interesting to see if that changes.
Rumours of locker room issues and bolting to the KHL persist (I'm sure KHL rumours have subsided with the condition that league is in right now).
If Edmonton really believes his potential is better then he has shown so far, then they would be foolish to trade him when his value is at his lowest. His salary is still relatively cheap, so I don't see an upside to them trading him right now, unless someone dangles something special, and I don't know who would do that. I certainly hope it isn't Chevy.

Ducky reacted to Rich in Moose News
A minor league team will always have a number of vets on it. Part of their job is to mentor the younger players as well as providing stability for the on ice product. Show them how to be a professional.
There are rules in the AHL that limit the number of vets a team can have, but all teams will have vets.

Labatte going to the Riders was much more complex than that.

Looks like a 1970's Bruce Jenner. Man that guy was awesome. I was just thinking the other day - whatever happened to that guy?

Ducky reacted to Yourface in World Championships
Link to those "rumours" please? I've read some stories regarding Hall on HF, and it seems to me that he's just one of those guys who don't like to be constantly bothered by fans in his free time (at the bar and whatnot). Some people expect these guys to be angels but ultimately, they're humans too and some of them like having a little privacy. Furthermore, Hall is always great with the media and complimentary of his teammates. He's never taken part in fights in practice or locker room conflicts, etc. To be honest he strikes me as a great guy who's probably just a little cocky, as most athletes are.

Ducky reacted to Atomic in Training camp successes
I don't see size being an issue with Petan. He is not going to get any bigger aside from maybe putting on a few pounds. He is small, he's always been small, but that hasn't stopped him yet. He is a really incredible passer and playmaker. If this were NHL 15 he would have a 99 on passing. It is effortless for him. It doesn't matter who you put him on a line with, those players are going to get goals. He would be the kind of guy who maybe doesn't get big even-strength minutes but would be playing on the second power play unit as a rookie.
The only reason I would send him down is that he would likely be the first line center for the Moose, playing big minutes every night and getting acquainted with the speed of the pro game. That might be the best place for him next season.

Ducky reacted to 17to85 in World Championships
The best part of this tournament for Canada so far is that it's showing the rest of the country what Oiler fans already knew, that Taylor Hall is a ******* good player.

Ducky reacted to Atomic in World Championships
Gretzky may seem like a good player but he is actually out of position all the time

Ducky reacted to sweep the leg in World Championships
He gets the most attention from the media, so it comes with the territory. People criticized Gretzky & Lemieux as well for being floaters, whiners, etc. It will happen with McDavid too.

Personally I think Buff plays better when he's paired with Chiarot.
I know it is a maligned stat at times but it should be noted that Enstrom did have the top +/- for Dmen and 2nd best overall on the team at +13.
