Are the Bombers for real? I sure hope so!
Is that defence for real? Yes it is. The d-line is getting better each game and starting to put real pressure on the QB. They are showing that running against them will not be easy. I would say our front 4 are the 3rd maybe 4th best in the league.  Our linebackers are one of the elite groups in the league...maybe top two. Ditto for the back field. I would say they are the best in the CFL but for their inexperience and the big play they tend to give up...but the are the elite ball hawkers of the league.
Are our special teams for real? Yes they are. Coverage on punts and kickoffs these last few games are the best I have ever seen from a Bomber team.  Fogg is killing the league with a 17.6 punt return avg. and kick returns are slightly above league average. Medlock started slow but is kicking like a fine tuned machine.  This is the best all round special teams unit in the league.
Is our offence for real? Not really. They are what they are. We have a couple weapons...well Harris and a bunch of guys that give it their all but are not elite. They might just be a little better then average to slightly below average with Nichols at the helm. I don't think they will win us to many games on their own but if D and ST play decent they won't need to. Nichols will for the most part be relied to manage games. Nichols has been cleaner/ more savvy in the pocket then Willy and he is doing a good job of identifying single coverage and looking the defence away from the target. O-line has been talked about and are playing great. Our receivers will see an upgrade soon but I only see us keeping 2 of Smith Denmark  or Dressler.  I forsee the NFL cuts bringing us a couple tall options and maybe a burner or two. Overall I see this group is a below average group with a very good OC brings them a 4th or 5th maybe 6th spot in the CFL.
One thing is fore sure watching them play is fun again.

I, for one, am very optimistic about this team right now, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the current winning streak.   I've been a season ticket holder for many decades, and I've had plenty of ups and downs.    My advice, for those who want it: Enjoy the current winning streak....there will be plenty of opportunities to be sour in the future.  (that goes for life too)

What ever happened to Offensive, Defensive, ST, and Canadian player of the week? Now it's just top three regardless of position?

I would absolutely love it. There are always ass clowns from the gap wearing their rider **** to mcmahon stadium even when the Riders are no where to be seen.
I maintain that my favourite CFL moment is the 09 Grey Cup. ******* were annoying as **** all day and watching them all instantly be silenced with one simple too many men penalty was glorious.

Most of those 33, 000 fans were roughrider fans generating revenue for the league. Sheesh.

Winnipeg. 2013. The 1-5 Bombers lost to the Ti-Cats (thus going 1-6) in front of nearly 33,000 at Investor's Group Field. That was also after 22 full seasons without a championship.

So if you're giving props to Rider fans for their commitment to a losing team, then you have to give HUGE props to Bomber fans!

Money from merchandise sold at the Riders stores goes to the Riders. Ticket sales for each game are split between the 2 teams iirc (not sure what the split is). The thing is a lot of Rider fans think that when the Riders are on the road that half of the tickets for the game are bought by Rider fans.

Silly question here.  For all the blather from Rider Nation about the $$$ they bring in and how they're "propping the league up", does the CFL actually get much of a cut, if any, from CFL teams' merch and ticket sales?  I assumed that teams keep what they make with possibly a % going to the league from merchandise.  Does anyone know how it actually works?
I know the big league money maker is the TV contract.  As someone pointed out on this site earlier TSN wouldn't have pumped big bucks into the contract if there weren't good viewer numbers across the league and sponsers wanting their ads to be seen nationwide.  Don't think Saskatchewan by themselves would have TSN giving a damn.

I only listened to basically that series of the game on CJOB while I ran to the store, didn't catch who was colour, you're right it was surely a local of the week. They definitely mentioned it was intentional though.
I'll take the congrats with pride, as I was not part of that discussion.

I'll take my knowledge of he game and the confirmation from Doug Brown and Bob Irving on the CJOB call as to it being a purposeful snap over your conjecture, especially considering how often you've been demonstrably wrong in the last couple days.

At least Rob Vanstone is a little more balanced in his reporting than Pedersen (although I don't know what he's usually like). Says the $5000 fine was petty, but acknowledges that other teams have been fined for the same thing. About the extra players on the practice squad he says:

"Members of the local media — and this reporter, especially — should be feeling rather sheepish. We all knew that the Roughriders were working out extra players after practice. It happened in front of us every day, while we were waiting for Jones to conduct his daily scrum. One day, I even counted the number of players (at least 20) who were working out after practice. Was anything written? Was anything assigned? Were any questions asked? No. I could have written about it. I could have assigned somebody to write about it. I was a glittering 0-for-2, and guilty of an assumption that business was being conducted as per usual in the CFL."

Wonder of RiderFans will ban him for trolling because of this?

I can tell you sure as ****, that Mr. Orridge is taking his marching orders on this from the collective of ownership around the league. They have been playing fast and loose with the league's internally policed honor system. You don't go poaching other teams entire coaching staffs during Grey Cup week, you don't go tampering with players, you don't try to buy a winner by setting up a competitive advantage outside the boundaries of the rules, and you most certainly don't give off the appearance that you don't give a **** while you're doing it.
Orridge gave them a ***** slap. Does anyone truly believe that it wasn't orchestrated by the rest of the league's owners? Riderfans may not like it but this was the warning shot across the bow from the rest of the league. Start acting with some dignity and class or the rest of the league will put the screws to you.

I went to check out RF after seeing this thread....and wow hahahahahahahaahahahahahaha
Those guys are delusional haha.   The idiotic posts about the commish and Jones are ripe for comedy.   Although I will say some of them are taking their fines as justified.  Some were complaining they league should have warned them first, too bad.

I was just over at Rider Fans checking out the delusional posting that is going on over there after reading about it here. After reading one thread in particular it really made me appreciate (again) how great MBB and the mods are. The way this forum is moderated is so superior to RF it ain't even funny. Here the rules are applied fairly (IMO) and when things get out of hand the reaction is swift. At RF, it seems like the rules only apply to posters who are critical of the Rider organization and/or are perceived to be fans of other teams. Anyone who posts anything perceived to be negative is labelled a "troll" and can be called every name in the book without the mods stepping in while the so-called "troll" will be banned at the drop of a hat even when what they post is factually correct.
Again, thank you to everyone - admin, mods and posters - for making this such a great place to post.
