  1. Past hour
  2. There were plenty of 1000 yrd runners. but only 1 lead the league in all purpose yards. Brady is more than just a runner. His ability out of the back field is just as good imo. Add in his ability to block and the only answer is to pay him. I also don't think this regime can afford to let another league leading all star player walk (like Lawler).
  3. This would be Incredible if true but it's probably going straight to the streaming service https://www.toughpigs.com/rumor-piggy-movie/?fbclid=IwdGRjcAN4RqNjbGNrA3hGn2V4dG4DYWVtAjExAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkDDM1MDY4NTUzMTcyOAABHgd6SFyM_KU85yRU2C94W9oOHZNAtc52u-6TyHnWHZ7RkynYlusTfILy9Yy__aem_d47V2oMSsyoxEcVd99sMEg
  4. It's might be that Eli's best ability is his versatility and he's never going to be more than a 6th offensive lineman.
  5. I like Brady. And I like the Winnipeg connection. But good teams, NFL and CFL, don't tend to overpay RB's any longer. Supply and demand. Decent RB's are plentiful. There were 5 other 1000 yard rushers in the CFL last year. I think all, or at least 4, made less $ than Brady. Plus there's Scott in Montreal who ran over our D in the semi final who looks like a 1000 yd rusher. Someone will pay him, I just wouldn't if I were a GM. I'd rely on my scouting department (if I had a decent one, not sure Bombers do now) to find me a new crop of American RB's every year to pick from and pay them accordingly.
  6. All I'll say is this: where and how we've chosen to allocate our money is one of the reasons why we are in the situation we are right now.
  7. I don't think it'll come down to money. They can easily load him up with marketing money for all the work he does in the community and then the cap isn't even an issue.
  8. If Elgersma ever wants to play in the NFL one day and make that good money, he needs to come play up here (with us or someone else) or he can try the UFL. No different than what Rourke had to do. The fact that nobody else has even kicked tires on Elgersma yet is telling though. I think he needs to show he can play consistently at higher level than USports - he had a good camp with the Packers but it's a small sample size. Every league has a rookie max of some type so that's also not unique - yeah it's low but compared to salaries in bigger leagues, all CFL (rookie or not) salaries are low. Some players feel they deserve more without having earned it yet.
  9. Today
  10. The past two years, Brady has been the engine of the offense and often the only reason it has had success. I'd hate to lose him because we keep Hogan or decide not to pay him. Especially when Zach needs to take a cut of at least $100,000, Willie is overpaid, Vaughters is overpaid, Kola and Thomas are deadweight.
  11. That's crazy. Brady's the heart & soul of this team. Someone is going to pay him $$$ to leave if we don't as he's in his prime. If he was 30 or 31, I'd agree but he's not. You want a 3-15 season? Then that's the way to do it.
  12. If Brady doesn't want to be here at a reasonable price I'm good with him moving on
  13. How has KFC not scored a power play goal since Dec 2024?!?!
  14. That's not a good way to start a road trip. Lowry looked good but was a bit rusty. This is a classic La style game... Jets just couldn't find the back of the net. Hopefully next game they wake up.
  15. Will he sign with us? The rookie salary cap is ridiculous. How the CFL runs sometimes s a joke. we're 5 years out of the pandemic. The league will cut off their nose to spite their face. Some players deserve more than others. It has everything to do with Osh. He & Thomas are the worst example of pandering & favouritism by our HC.
  16. Great summary. If what happened the past year is allowed to continue we'll be a 4 or 5 win season real fast. We'll lose Brady if we don't fire Hogan.
  17. ugh the start of a six game road trip where the games start after 9 curse you annual Disney on Ice tour stops why can't they be scheduled during the all-star break? (yeah I am aware it probably doesn't work that way)
  18. I get the money thing but honestly to lose Brady potentially because Walters is overpaying Collaros would be frustrating. Zach at 450,000, fine. Zach at 600,000 not fine. I'd rather we get rid of Willie if they need to save money.
  19. yeah it’d suck big time, but that’s pro football sadly. No reward to keeping guys around as the peak. Paying a mill to brady zach and demski is unsustainable, maybe even puts us in an un winnable situation next year. And I don’t think zach can go down much. Nor do I think he would. To be fair, it did look to me like jackson was calling the plays. But with some awful playbook install.
  20. Just rewatched the end of the game l because I am an idiiot. Around four and a half minutes left, down by 6. The D gets a huge stop. Vaval gets a decent return, helped by a penalty. Offense takes over at the 45 with just over 4 minutes to go. What do they do? Throw away under pressure with no receivers in the same zip code, and a two yard pass to Wheatfall. Punt. Fire Hogan.
  21. Yeah they weren't pulling off a rescue or a call in space, one of the characters was given a chance to do one of those Millionaire Space visit thingies after the 118 saved the life of the guy (he was swallowed by a whale....I watch the show for the ridiculous incidents that warrant a 9-1-1 call) that owns this company that (I don't really remember what he did all I remember is he offered 5 mil to do this mostly as a publicity stunt to save his companies stocks and things went horribly wrong in space) yeah the multi episode season kick-offs can get out of this world (literally this season)
  22. I'll be disappointed if Brady goes elsewhere.
  23. off season rules in place now, Discussion follows the few active threads.
  24. sure wish we had done a semi competent job of developing mci in the two years we’ve had him, as a rb. Peterson is legit, he isn’t the pile pusher brady is, but if we polished mci he could be a real game changer with that break away speed. I love brady, both the player and the person. He turns 29 next season, and has essentially 1k carries. I’m sure he has 2 strong campaigns left in him, and he can likely be a strong useful player for many years after that. All that said, we paid him 240k a year on this deal. Betts got 266k. So i expect brady to look for a raise, maybe 255k range. I just wouldn’t pay elite dl money to brady. Or two top 5-8 dl in the cfl levels of money. Elite wr money. Especially not with Peterson and mci, who will already be on the roster. If you move on from schoen, wj, and brady, you clear up a massive amount of cash that you could use to fix the dl and wr core. I really wonder how long he will play. I wouldn’t be disappointed if he decided to call it a career after one more 2-3 year deal with a bunch of front loaded bonus cash. Last thing I want to see is what happened to strevy/schoen. And he’s been a serious battering ram.
  25. I'm sorry, but I saw a promo for this show where they are in space or something? And I can't get my head around the fact that anyone actually watches this.
  26. On the one hand - the team's problems this year, and Brady's usage might be a big factor. On the other hand, the dude has all sorts of balls in the air off the field. Wouldn't surprise me if he looked at Toronto or BC as a more convenient place for all of that stuff.
  27. This, via ChrisD.ca, was something... The Winnipeg Blue Bombers star running back is a pending free agent and told media in Tuesday’s end-of-season press conference that the team’s future roster and money will factor into where he plays next year. ”Playing for my hometown, it's been incredible,” said Oliveira, who was drafted by Winnipeg in 2019. “I have nothing but good things to say about my time here. “And would I love to be back? Absolutely, but I think I owe it to myself to sit down with my agent and OTG Sports and to talk to my family and kind of see what the best scenario and situation is for me.”
