I'm watching this to laugh at Chris Jones Apparently Durant isn't playing? You'd think they'd want him to get at least a a few series in, it's almost like he hasn't played for two seasons and will undoubtedly be rusty (no matter how good Riderfans think he is). Oh well CFL ball is back. BMO looks like a great place to watch a CFL game. Congrats Argos and Bluto, your long Rogers nightmare is over ...

They'd be insane to let Franklin go for free. 

Agreed I'd much rather they release DeMarco - but Maas had DeMarco in Ottawa so I have a feeling he's comfortable with him. Haven't heard much here yet about it. I know the guys here on the post game show were concerned with DeMarco's  'lack of finish' in the game. Franklin seems like a star in the making but one of them will most likely go. Can't see Lynch going due to his versatility.

I see the Riders released Aaron Picton, I believe he could be a good candidate for a PR spot here

I wish that the Esks would release Franklin so that Jones would immediately scoop him up and make him the Riders starter. Their fan base heads would explode as the loss count mounts while Franklin learns to be a starter. They are going to lose with Durant as well...but boy would they be screaming bloody murder if Durant was glued to the bench. Sadly it won't happen because Franklin is a lock at backup in Edmonton.

DeMarco will be the cut.

I'd take Franklin over DeMarco any day of the week, especially on game days.

I agree, DeMarco doesn't offer them anything that the other two can't provide.  I wouldn't be surprised if they keep all four until they can pry something of value from another team.  DeMarco is worth the least in trade.

DeMarco is a really bad qb. CFL teams bring in crappy qbs like him yet won't give Canadian qbs a chance. There are CIS qbs who are as good or better than DeMarco. They don't get drafted & therefore get no chance to develop.

Its just a matter of time before Franklin is in Regina when the chance comes up.

Apparently Smith didn't follow instructions and called his own play yesterday. He was immediately pulled and chastised.

Next day he's cut. The way Jones is running the Riders is beginning to remind me of a Junior High School I used to attend.

Just one play? that seems harsh. Had to be a culmination of a lot of things.

Maybe they bring in Taj Boyd.  Or we get their 1st pick for our QB Davis.

I haven't seen any replays of the incident but apparently Smith took exception to an Esk. sack and got in the guys face, drawing a major foul.  Jones immediately pulled him and didn't put him back in until late in the 4th.

Yes that happened but you'd think that in of itself wouldn't cause someone to lose his job. But when you get a new guy running things, he'll want his own players

Jones is peeing on all four corners of the team to make his bones and mark his territory. Ought to endear him to his players and fans alike. You can get away with that sort of stuff if you are Don Matthews or Wally Buono but it ain't going to be well received in Riderville.

They have no experience behind Durant. At least Smith played 9 or 10 games. They have no one now. If Durant goes down it'll be 2015 all over again. Jones-Murphy have done nothing to improve the #2 & #3 qb position.

Not sure how long Durant was in the second preseason game. I would assume the first half. So 11/19 for 153 isn't bad. But 2 picks and managed a whopping 8pts? I'd be conserned if I was a Rider fan..... If he struggles early or even gets injured again I can't see them putting up double digit scores very often. 

This Rider team could be worse than last year before it gets better ...

Well, at least we're not going to be the laughingstock of the league this year.

2. Win the LDC

3. Finish ahead of the Riders
