Tear up knee in preseason, get released.

Does Anderson take anything away besides a wrecked knee? Any kind of injury compensation or extended insurance or what have you? That's super shitty if he doesn't.

I would guess there's some kind of insurance payments to cover this but it's probably not much.

Pierzchalski is cut. I believe he played well in pre-season games. He's a big receiver.

He's expected to land on the Riders PR. Riders announcing their PR early this week.

I imagine it's an unwritten rule not to pick off a player between being cut and being placed on the PR?

There have been a few players who have gone to another team's PR after being released in the past few years.

I agree....not only is the kid injured, but he gets cut on top of it?? Brutal. I realize it's all about the cash, but surely they have to provide him some medical care??

No salary compensation for an injured rookie. The Club is however responsible for medical expenses.

If the medical care takes place in the U.S., that could be a big chunk of change for an ACL tear.

Wonder how many are cut, but are hanging around town?

Veltung on the roster because he can return? Didn't impress as a receiver.

I'm sure he'll be gone when Troy is back.

Are you zaying dat zee Veltung is yust und intruda?

Why keep Cronk when you have Rempel?

Why keep Cronk when you have Rempel?

It doesnt hurt to have a backup LS. Plus he play FB too.

I wonder if the Bombers bring in another NI OL relatively soon, like the next couple weeks. One of the guys on the 46 goes down and Tommy Griffiths is the 6th OL.

What's the status on Billy Peach? Riders released Vonk...

Jas Dhillon was cut by the Argos.

Significant turnover in Winnipeg's Canadian depth over 2014: Picard Hurl Chungh Bastien Cronk Westerman Gibson Waggoner Morgan Rempel - 10 Canucks who didn't play a down for us last year - 11 if you count Newman who was hurt. The fact that Bastien and Morgan made it - pretty cool. I'm going to go out on a limb and say, pretty soon, sooner than later, those 2 guys will be very good adds for us.

I'm still hoping they put back Randle at weakside CB, Unamba at SAM, J.Adams/Washington at weakside HB

We could see that from time to time, no? MOS said they will move D players around depending on variables such as injury, ratio, or even cover schemes and what they think they can exploit of opposing teams personnel + weaknesses.

I know Randle gave up an endzone catch against Ham as cover lb but he was close on the play, very close, and it was a beauty of a throw by Collaros. It's a testament to Randle's versatility they would play him in the box.

More concerned about the O, over here. How many times did we try unsuccessfully to pound it in from the 2? Was it 5 times and penalty assisted before Marshall took it in? Still liking this team, though Cats made 'em look bad.

Gibson sticks on the roster. Interesting.

Drew Edwards         @scratchingpost

I think it’s possible the #TIcats won’t release their final cuts until the morning.

Looking at CFL.ca they are the only team that hasn't announced their cuts yet.

This strikes me as a risky move. Montreal or BC might grab him. Heck, I'd choose Franklin over Portis.
