I love O'Shea. His players are going to go to absolute war for him.

I wonder how this changes the plans for managing the ratio this season?

That really sucks looked like he had come back pretty nicely from the injury last year and was having a good camp.

As far as the ratio goes ... if we weren't going 4 OL before, we probably will be now. Or you swing a trade with Hamilton for a DT.

Laurent sure would have been nice to have right about now.

Even if we go 4 OL, we desperately need to add another Canadian who can play, likely a receiver or DL.  The chances of Watson surviving 18 games are pretty low, our depth is wire thin, we lose a couple NI's who we're counting on to play on O or D and we're totally screwed, we've already lost one.

That really sucks for him.  Doesn't even get to see a second of game action and his season is over.

Terrible terrible news for Lucas.  Hopefully he can come back from this.

 

On the flip side, hopefully we can get someone else in ASAP that can fill the position and get some training camp time in.

Trade Hamilton for the rights to Evan Gill immediately. He'd play here.

I haven't watched a second of him in camp (allergic to shade or something like that) but that was also what I was thinking.  The Dline was going to feature Thomas and Lucas rotating with some guys in other positions to get that 7th NI.  Can Everett be ready to take on that responsibility by the time camp breaks?

I would assume NI depth as tenuous as it is right now, at any position, will not allow us  an import kicker.

You think with all the non import DL Hamilton has they are going to have to release one or two at the end of preseason.

4 DI's this year.  There's room for him if he earns it.

Edmonton had a glut of NI Dlinemen and carried all those guys last year (year before?, crap I'm getting old) without dropping one.  It would be nice if it happens but we can't plan for it.

Non import depth could be a serious issue moving forward. I'm not sure starting 4 nip o line is an option. This team had serious challenges starting 3 last season...4 might be a huge stretch.

Brutal to hear.

 

Assuming they'll go Thomas at DT, Newman at LB and Alexander at S in a rotation for NI spot 7.

He'll be 30 by the end of the year... definitely still time to recover.... but this is very unfortunate news.... I was looking forward to seeing him on the d-line this year

There's just something about O'Shea that'll make players want to run through a wall for the guy.  Listening to him I think he could get me to, as well.

 

Season enders in TC (and really, ever) is the absolute worst.  Feel bad for Lucas.
