That is just not a good take, at all.

I'll add a diverse run game! Running Brady in the A gap all day long out of the same formation won't do it.

This team is just not that good. Their record flatters them. They are as bad as Ottawa.

Luke Wilson is a fine color guy but he’s completely delusional if he or anyone else thinks 2026 Zach makes any difference. Zach and DRu are the same, DRu is essentially Zach when he was healthy earlier in his career. 2024 25 26 Zach gets carted off and is 6 gamed after this one. Prob early also. Does Zach playing mean more than 14 carries for Brady. Brady’s last carry was a 45 yard TD when we were down by less than 2 TDs. That was his last run in the game, a 45 yard touchdown run. Nothing after. Condell lost this game. 2026 Zach don’t got time to jump into his throws this game. He’d be on the turf every 2nd play.

Is Dru the reason our D gave up TDS on calgarys opening drive? How bout their TD drive b4 half? How bout the one to start the 2nd half?

Going on about QBs when every team has made our D look like ******* is an interesting take.

Hogan had a better O than Condell with less talent.

Listen to Taylor Doug Strev Brady on the post game show. QB isn’t even close to the problem.

Real turning point this game was Sergio’s 58 yard miss. Just sucked the air out the city really, and not using Brady again after his career long 45 yard TD run.

The play call the last 5 drives was throw it into coverage and hope receivers can fight for the ball cuz that’s essentially what we did. We were down 12 with lots of time to go, D choked again tho but got away from our identity which is run the ball.

Edited by Goalie

Dru is averaging 40 passes a game over his 3 starts. That’s crazy. And this is the OC who got him killed last year by the way. Meanwhile Brady was 14 for 128 and 2 TDs. Imagine 6 more runs instead of passes. Game wasn’t over when we were down by 12. Crazy cuz tv showed Brady on sidelines saying let’s fn go, keep feeding motion and he never got fed again.

3 differences between last week and this week:

  1. Calgary's DB's can catch

  2. They got the FG return for a TD instead of us

  3. We didn't play the worst team in the league

Dru threw high and low and short and long again. Demski's TD was a horrible throw that Demski snagged with one hand and then made people miss for the TD. Great Demski play, lousy Dru play. Collaros has half of Dru's speed; he would have been sacked many more times.

The score flattered us. One of Dru's picks was intercepted by us after the pick. Never seen that in my life before. Vaval doesn't let the ball go through the end zone, and we start on the 10 instead of the 40. Dru was running for his life before and after we lost our RT.

Our record flatters us. Beat Calgary by 2 on the last play when they didn't have their 2 best DL. Beat Hamilton by 1 when they lost BLM. Beat Ottawa, the worst team in the league, in quadruple OT.

Next week it's BC with a backup QB. If we don't win that one, we're in deep trouble, my friends.

Which coordinator deserves to be fired first.

That’s my question and really, it’s a difficult question cuz both O and D are quite bad. D tho, lots of missed tackles but lots of mass confusion

Cuz O’Shea isn’t cuz 3 yr deal.

O? They weren’t as awful prior to broxton getting hurt and having to completely reshuffle the line but, weren’t great. Play calling is suspect. 40 passes a game. Sending Brady out wide all the time, the MCI run thing. It’s just change of pace? Brady had 3 carries at that point, change of pace my ass.

It’s all just so stupid. Our D literally gives up TDS after we score a TD every time. Our American kicker is one of the worst in the league, Bryant is finished. Eli isn’t a starter, no receiver over 6 3.

No aggression on D. Bombers historically known for aggressive D are now the cucks of the CFL.

Our O shows signs of life when we use Brady, when they throw 40 times, not so much. The oline is built to probably run block a bit more than be able to give our QB 4 seconds in a pocket.

It’s Opposite Day on O.

Say what you want about Lapo but, he’d use Brady.

And hogan may have used him more also. Maybe more catches tho.

I was sorta excited but somewhat nervous about the Condell hire due to his lack of run use and us being a run first team really. Fears seem to be realized early.

While I’m sitting here taking my Saturday morning after bomber game deuce I realize we are essentially running the Ottawa Redblacks O from last year but without a Gino Lewis type receiver. Condell is a joke.

For MCI’s size, he doesn’t really run with much power albeit his opportunities are limited.

Eli’s run blocking was ok, I didn’t really notice a difference at C. It was the edges that were getting destroyed.

Lack of aggression on D agree 100%. Probably the least physical group of DBs we’ve seen since 2005.

Aside from injuries, I don’t think the OL would look so bad if we ran concepts that made sense.

Zach wouldn't have survived that game. He is drastically slower getting the ball out and forces shots much more. Even though he's been much better then the previous couple of years this year, that type of game is his kryptonite.

The problem is we are a team full of old players, and a bad team. If we can trade off old bad players for value, we should.

Maybe prime doug flutie makes a difference. Short of that, it's a question of who you are serving up for dinner to the D.

D kept us in and got us back in the game. JY has turned around bad Ds here before. We just need to start getting DBs out of here.

TC is doing a best hits of his worst jobs in the CFL. We can't run, convert in the red zone, protect the QB, pick up first downs, etc.

If we can JY, Hall takes over, and while we will blitz less, we will see much of the same coverage. Little would actually change.

If we can TC or take away his offensive play call duties, we don't have anyone other than Hogan who could take over.

He hasn't had enough practice as an actual RB to run with proper form. He wasn't a usage guy in college either, remember. Running power comes from getting low, keeping defenders from squaring up, and timing. He doesn't have any of that; he certainly isn't a natural power runner. But he would get better at it if taught, imo.

Eli was good in the run game, not great in pass. Basically, everyone gave up a couple bad rushes. A DL like Calgary is gonna win some matchups and make some plays. We all know who is racking up penalties and getting abused by any rusher opposite him.

Yeah, the whole team is soft. But the secondary is sooooooooft.

I was one of those, but I hold to my opinion. Collaros is too expensive to be a bench warmer, too brittle to play, and arguably worse than Brown.

Pretty much. In theory, we could bring someone in, but then we would need time for an install. And it couldn't even be a full flush of the system, only a rework. At that, we would need someone familiar with these systems.

The only way to even do a decent rework on the system and change over play call duties is to work through a bye week. Week 16 bye will be too late. The other opportunity is week 10, after BC next week. Which means we likely would need to bring that person in this week to absorb what we have and who we have to start making adjustments to implement the following week.

The only name I can think of that could possibly be viable is Lapo. And I don't think he'd take it tbh. So yeah, I bet Hogan takes back the play-calling duties by LDC.

Yep, I don't even think its a matter of better or worse vs Brown. Collaros, is probably the worst QB in the league when you can't protect the QB. Even more so when you can't run the ball and fall behind in games. Whatever Zach is capable of isn't even a factor.

3 hours ago, Yourface said:

The offensive line’s play doesn’t excuse Brown’s piss poor decision making. He had a dreadful game and was without a doubt one of the main reasons the Bombers lost. You can’t win throwing four interceptions, simple as that.

So he is supposed to just throw the ball away all night? Because when you don't get time in the pocket and your receivers aren't running routes to challenge the secondary where the **** is he supposed to go with the ball? In that situation you need to be able to run the ball and back then off but guess what! Tommy Condell thinks our bruising running back is a wide receiver

3 hours ago, SpeedFlex27 said:

He was trying to force the ball deep all night & failed.

Not sure he had any real choices. The defence was throwing up their skirts at almost every play and Calgary had all the intermediate stuff covered, so it was 4 yard dump passes or hail Marys.

And I suspect his market value is now approximately that of Corcoran.

The boys had a good helping of crow last night and when they look in the mirror all they’ll see is a team that doesn’t have the skills to be a 500+ team.

Or coaching to be honest

Not sure how it sounded..looked on TV.. I havmt done my do over yet..but that was the most intense..loud..angry booing innthe stadium that I have heard..or been a part of...ever..not a happy fannase and rightfully so..

It's exceptionally rare that you see a CFL offense that is completely rudderless, no real strength, no seeming understanding of what it's strength is to build out the rest of the scheme from. But that's where we are. Condell should not be a play caller in this league. It's insane how many chances this guy has got to be completely terrible.

We're basically running a Tim Burke/Gary Crowton era level of chaos offense with much better players and QB's. The low level NCAA West Coast scheme with no vertical routes, no run scheme doesn't work in pro football. Maybe we can bring in Marcel Bellefeuille from Ottawa to consult.

I'm also of the mind that the D wasn't the problem last night.

Just off my head they had to overcome four interceptions, a blocked punt and a kick return touchdown which ran up the score through no fault of their own. I actually thought they did pretty well to mitigate the damage of all of these gaffes on O and special teams. Yes, Adams threw for over 300 yards, but that is actually not that bad with the state of the game league wide this year. They also kept a top 3 running back in Mills in check until the game was already decided.

The busted coverages were bad, but on the whole I don't see the Bomber D as the issue at all last night. Special teams and the O were far worse.

FWIW: My penetrating insights into the Friday night debacle:

Dru did not look like a premier quarterback, but he was sabotaged by wimpy receivers, a porous O-line and an offensive game plan right out of a rec league.

When Broxton went out, we were doomed already, and it made little difference.

We are in real trouble, and a crossover playoff berth is our best hope. If Bo-Levi returns, we're scrooged.

I had hope that Walters could redeem himself, but it looks like a complete housecleaning is in order.

The coaching overall is so bad that it is difficult to assess the talent on this team, but what is there ain't great. It looks like we are about six players away from being competitive.

One more outing at home like this and there is gonna be a lot of empty seats in the stadium.

The D didn't make more mistakes than Calgary's D. But the level of performance and compete from the secondary in particular is completely unacceptable.

The Nichols bust on the TD pass to McAllister in 2 high coverage is one of the worst football plays I've seen in my entire life at any level. Like does he seriously think when he's the high man in that coverage looking down at the routes where we have 3-4 other guys sitting on them that there maybe isn't a reason why he should look again to turn his hips and make sure there actually isn't a deep route coming at him? It wasn't even really disguised. McAllister came out of the backfield and just ran right up the seam. 2 high....you're high, you've got to be on top of the deepest route on your half of the field.

He's not reading the QB/ball, he's not playing his zone, he's reading an area where we have 4 other guys covering 2 Calgary players.

Remarkably poor play by a veteran player.

My opinion of this D almost halfway through this season is that we don't have the players to execute the scheme in the secondary. So a good coach would drastically simplify to put a competitive secondary on the field. I think it's beyond making one personnel change. Either way Moxey needs to go. Guy just doesn't show any willingness play in and play out to compete.

I hate watching Bryant like this. He’s probably the best in CFL history but he’s in the late stage Michael Jordan/Muhammad Ali career path where they clearly hung on too long. O’Shea and Walters failed Bryant and the team by bringing him back.

After the Roman army had a disastrous loss, the commanders would go into the ranks and take out and publicly execute 10 soldiers. This is where we get the expression "decimated" from. They rarely lost two battles in a row. People are still people, even now. Over the past two and half years, the Bomber players and coaches have repeatedly been given the message that half-hearted efforts and losses are acceptable. That has to change. Bring out the tumbrels.

Is Cam Allen out for the season? See he was extended on 6 game but no reporting on him from FP or Tait.
