That is just not a good take, at all.

I'll add a diverse run game! Running Brady in the A gap all day long out of the same formation won't do it.

This team is just not that good. Their record flatters them. They are as bad as Ottawa.

Theres just so many issues and flaws with this team i honestly dont know where to start. From players to coaching to game plans. Just so much dogshit. We’re destined for the basement of the West. Rourke being injured might keep us out of it, but honestly i could see us losing to BC this week.

Its been a 4 yr skid..each yr worse than the previous..first was the record...followed by position in standings.. and next earlier playoff exit..to the point we needed to cross over..whats the result this yr..no playoffs? Or just another cross over and esf exit?

I've decided that I know less about the game than MOS and that my eyes tell me he didn't commit turnover after turnover, whiff on tackles, or miss assignments, and am confident he didn't tell our players to do so either. If we played flawless football and got smoked I might look away from the players taking the blame but it is moronic to blame the coaches for players doing exactly that.

But hey if an echo chamber devoid of counterpoint is what you want have at it. Its funny how the moderators here seem to encourage it and even defend it with snarky pot shots. Talk football or put me on ignore Mike. Either way a forum member is kindly asking a mod to not respond to his posts anymore. Will the mod do the right thing?

You consistently attack the poster, never the content of their post and somehow still carry moderator status. Sad really.

The players certainly played a roll. But...putting it only on the players just isn't how professional football works. Like any issue, nuance is key.

Its been obvious for quite some time that its coaching, the front office and players who are to blame.

Game day experience and the tickets sold get a pass.

I can say as a long time season ticket holder, 3 out of the 4 home games have stunk performance wise this year.

Sit guys down for a quarter, game, forever... Anything other than just leaving it as is.

Sit who? And most importantly replace them with who? The biggest problem I see is that the guys who are not performing well have nothing behind them on the DC.

Yes we know, in your world it's only the players fault and if a guy isn't playing it's simply because he sucks.

Which is stupid but let's play that what if game.... If guys aren't cutting it bench then and try next man up. If that person doesn't cut it tell the gm he needs to get someone else in who can do it. And so on and so on. Does our coach do that though? No poor performance is just allowed to happen cause a guy is a veteran or a favourite

I never knew Walters was a blind man. I guess he & Osh are so buddy buddy that he can't see the problems for himself.

I think that would help. However is Osh guilty of not giving guys chances? Example, why not use Smith as a starter and use Kyrie or Ayers (pick one as the DI)? Why not give Shay reps to see what you have? Moxey and Nichols have struggled, why not see what Texada can give you?

What's stupid is believing that swapping in less talented players will somehow make our team better. Idiotic really if you wanna throw insults around.

well we have Jackson and Vaval we can sub in and see..Texada...if they not deemed good enough...better....able to push guys why the **** are they still here???....You dont know until you know and try a gy for a game or 3...We are in the second 3rd of season...not just 2 games in...there's issues

We have Singer and Womack...get em on...feed em balls...see what they do...if anyting see if one or the other opens things up more for our top 3...if they can evcen be called top 3

Dump the bottom Canadian on roster...add the Global...he was in the NFL for 2+ yrs...they dont keep gys around for fun...obviously has some skill and likley better than a low end Canadian player fresh out of school

I'd go Wallace..Eli...Nuef with Vibert as backup for 2 games minimum...see how that pans out and gets us a valuable Import on roster anf then actually play said import....a couple games of that interior wont get anyone killed

I sure as well some guys finished the first stint on 6...who are practicing fully could be put in....why they not..Woodbey..Dixon...

Use SMITH fulltime...rotate in Shay...sit down or relegate to backup one of Wilson and Jones....see how that plays out...this idea we have nobody to try is horsecrap...we choose to keep trying to jam square pegs in round holes so to speak...aka...a brain dead HC

EXACTLY!! as i said above...and also the PR...a smart team...and its intended use is to actually have it evolving and be fluid thru the yr...scouting and bringing guys in should never end...we add the guys who break camp..on roster...and PR...and thats that...no wonder our depth and lack of any backups suck ass...wort in league

how you know they less talented...you seen them play any games in the starting lineup over any extended time?

Like I mentioned before..we cut Holm...not good enough...Vet got hurt we brought him back and had to play him...performed well and all of sudden was all praises from Osh etc....That panned out well..The Jenkins/reese situ this yr...these are just a few instances...and who knows who we cut over vets or tenured plugs the last 3..4 yrs would not have been better...likely many were

Osh doesnt like to admit failure...so will stick with his picks and random garbage...not a good trait in a HC

Why do you always believe depth charts directly correlate to talent ?

The purpose of a practice roster is to have a developmental system in effect, which means that while these players may be equally or more talented to the veterans ahead of them on the depth chart, it would be on the backs of those players in combination with the coaching staff to develop to a point that they can be more than just a talented football player. How do they understand the system? How do they acclimate to professional football? How do they build habits? How do they compete?

I don't really understand the point you're trying to make ... these players aren't finished products, they never are. We don't expect a quarterback to come in and be game ready as a pro, you've said as much yourself with Elgersma but it seems like you ignore that concept for every other position and I'm not really sure why. So what Booch is saying is if you're not going to give those guys an opportunity to prove they understand the system, prove they've acclimated to pro ball, prove they've built pro habits and prove they can compete then why do you still have them here? It'd be one thing if the players they're behind the DC are are performing, which is why we're not talking about replacing Willie or Lawson or Major or Griffin or Pokey or Brady or Broxton ... but we've got lots of underperformers and we've got players who have been here since May learning pro ball. If we believed in their talent enough to sign them to contracts, maybe it's time to put them on the field and see if our initial assessment was correct.

Oh and calling others here idiotic, that's not ok.

The coach should never need to tell the GM he needs to bring in more talent. That's ass backwards. Fans always covet the guys behind the starters on the DC a heck of a lot more than anyone should. Our guys behind our starters, are not starters for a reason. You may not like that but it's reality. Over the last 4 years can you even name one player who came off the bench and stole a job on our team? Now you want it done multiple times? I get everyone's frustration but the only areas where we have some depth also have good starters playing well. Change for the sake of change never works.

I never called anyone idiotic first of all. I assessed a fellow posters take on things in a nearly identical manner to their assessment of mine. At no point ever have I ever stated that everything OSH does is correct. There are many valid criticisms of his work. However, just like politics people seem to view an opposing opinion as extreme these days. I am not happy with roster composition in regards to not utilizing the Designated National, I think that at times he fills the bottom of the depth chart with questionable choices. I think he gives his coordinators too much carte blanche over their respective lineups. I think, at times, he can be overly loyal to vets with caveat that I don't always think that's a bad thing from a team building perspective.

So let's be clear what I don't agree with others on in regards to MOS. I don't agree that any of the above in isolation costs us games. They are not flaws fatale. They don't help, but they don't add up to losses. I believe that our biggest front office problem is Kyle Walters not MOS. We need talent. The reason we lost last week was talent and players not being accountable to each other.

Edited by GCn20

I've seen first hand on multiple occasions where a coach has asked a GM for a specific kind of player

That being said Walter's should be bringing guys in as well all yr and tell his HC that he wants said player evaluated...tho I wouldnt give Osh's evaluation skills any value more than spit on the pavement

I'd like one change to the weakest part of our secondary. Moxey is too much of a veteran to be making the mistakes he's making. And I'm not even talking scheme wise, just playing the ball in the air and tackling. I honestly believe he's lost at least some confidence and it's showing in his play. Teams consistently pick on him and he's panicking when the ball is in the air. Giving Vaval or Texada a shot in game should be happening this week.

GMs need to have players waiting behind the starters that will steal their job, we don't have much of that.

I think that Moxey is probably done as well, but I am not confident that the scheme is doing much for him either. I don't want to put Vaval in because of his importance as a returner, and I have little confidence that Texada will fair better.

Yeah I get that about Vaval and who knows about Texada, but that's an area that wouldn't necessarily hinder the team if the play isn't better than Moxey. But sitting a vet for poor play would send a message to the team and if Texada plays well, then it's a win win.

I agree that some guys go rotten on the vine at at times but I just don't see who we have that's worth rostering that isn't rostered already.

we dont know they wont tho...if not given the chance...and random practice reps as a scout team player...or in skelly isnt a chance...when lights go on...some guys rise to it...but here we never know

And thats also a good way to get better players in..If the HC makes the change...and G.M doesnt like the results...then it is pretty obvious he needs to bring in more prospects...but if he just takes HC word we good...but doesn't get to see the proof of it....then thats a problem

I think its safe to agree that there are major issues Concerns with how we do things with the GM..HC and his OC's and the hierarchy on how/what is decided and who is truly to blame....to be blunt..it sucksass

But when organizations are in this place...especially after a prolonged run with the same HC...when changes are to be....or are discussed...the HC is usually turfed as to not upset the whole apple cart...you don't clean house...which leads to a total organization upheaval...and likely shift on how they do things.

Organizationally we are good...Miller is killing it...our admin staff is superb...Walter's in regards to the SMS..us not being penalized...not blowing cash foolishly isnt an issue

Our problems seem to be generally game day type stuff....be it poor roster...dumb in game decisions/choices...lack of prep/readiness...seems to be no accountability in under performing players...or coaches for that matter for poor schemes or even ability (Hogan last yr and just keeping him there and floundering) and that is basically all pointing back to one person...So....step one is usually power of deduction...Remove the coach...was he the problem?....Was he bad in player choices?...decisions....even in a mid season change a lot of times you can see if those issues were stemming from there

The following yr if the HC picked a guy who is getting same reuslts...poor looking talent...then yeah...Likely clean house with G.M and scouting...You never clean house as step one when everything else seems to be functioning well other than the game day product/results...especially when they are the same issues 4 yrs running now

This is one of the things that irks me the most about this regime. There seems to be (from the outside looking in) complacency that the players who have been scouted and identified are good enough and there's no need to continue to bring guys in during the season.

They seem to treat the neg list as a long term wish list, rather than a tool that could be used to help short term as well as in the long run. Other teams are constantly turning over their neg list players (either signing them or removing them) while we stand pat. We made a total of 3 moves to our neg list in the last month (added 2 players & removed 1) while most other teams made 15 or more moves. Montreal signed 4 players off their neg list where we can barely be bothered to update ours it so it's not much of surprise that our cupboard is bare.

and the PR use as well...poor use and it shouldn't be static all yr...should be used to develop some guys for sure where there just not enough room on roster, but also should be ever changing and having guys dumped and added too...scouting and player assessment and guys being brought up should never stop

There's been instances where we carried guys for 2 yrs...never got a chance when could have...then dumped only to go thru same cycle again

We wanna run 3 canadian receivers so you should have in a smart world 5 capable on the roster...and at minimum 1 on the PR,,.,But up until we just dumped Corcoran onto it had zero....but 3 imports...make that make sense

We also had no interior dlineman...1 went out with injury...appears they limiting Ceresna's reps and we have none on the PR...I not counting Korn as he should be nowhere near a roster...we should have at least 1 true DT/Nose on there...and be bringing guys in to look at...but nope

Our biggest problem is a lack of talent imo. We are not good enough. You want to blame that on rostering, I want to blame it on acquisition. Tomatoes Tomahtoes. However, my assessment is based on the fact that over the past 2-3 years when injuries have forced us to test our depth our depth has failed miserably. That kind of proves my theory imo. At the end of the day, if we don't get more talent we are screwed. Walters I hope you are reading.

The PR consists of guys who agree to go on it. Not really in the coaches control whatsoever. If you think that even half the guys we chose accepted I think that would be optimistic.

Tony Jones.... But he only got the opportunity because of an injury otherwise they'd have stuck with a cooked Adam Big hill forever.

But I guess because Bighill was ahead on the depth chart it means that he was just better right? Despite the very obvious improvement when he went in.... You see why you get push back from everyone when you make these pants on head ******** claims about the depth chart always being correct?

Tony Jones was platooning with Bighill long before Bighill got injured. The fact you had to go back 4 years to try and find an incorrect example put the pants over your head not mine. But keep being a **** about it. I stand my my statement because your example only reinforces my assertion. There have been dozens of examples of players going down to injury since then but you never chose any of them. Know why? You couldn't. Hell I could go back a dozen years and find some examples too but you know what bupkus over the past 2-3 years and that just illustrates the problem.
