and also find it odd...as much work as we have to do to fix things...a lot of things...we take an extra day off on tuesday and dont practice....like wtf...great coaching and planning going on here...its a wonder why we look god awful more often than not...unprepared and confused...no reason to take a mid week day off

yeh the fact that after that joke of a game and then a bye week...that no significant changes of any type were made...or issues even brought out shows we are totaly lacking any leadership coaching wise...and to me in my experience...they have no clue how to fix...and even more disturbing can't even see the issues...they think they doing great and it will all just work out....Rudderless ship and not the fault of the players...even if some are just not good enough...they have zero hope

Dimwitty is throwing out guys like garbage and there gonna be new blood playing there....Hungry young guys with a point to prove...and a team thats been sent the message to shape up or you will be promptly shipped out...regardless of who you are and how long you been around...Thats a scary team to go up against when you yourself are a listing mess

It's not even just Ottawa making moves either (they are just the most visible at the moment). Every single team in the league is far more active in letting guys go or bringing guys in than we are. You look at the CFL transaction page or one of the Neg List tracker accounts and we rarely make any non-injury related moves - it's like they are completely satisfied with players we have or they feel they've done such a good job scouting that nobody better can possibly be added to the neg list so things are fine the way they are.

oh I agree...I just used Ott as an example cause we about to play them...and you know they gonna be coming out hard and hungry, cause they just saw 3 vets kicked to the curb...so thy will be fired up and playing with urgency and to earn/keep a job....

And here we are...no changes...and we take yesterday off for no particular reason...like wtf?!?!!?...I guess we watched the film again and saw the errors and its all fixed...yeah right eh?

And this is Osh's history...who we break camp with is the roster...and thePR...and thats that...like he either doesnt want to admit a mistake or 2 with players...or 5....or he just plain dumb and has minimal clue how to create and manage a roster/pr and where and when to upgrade when needed

Who is on the field is up to the coaches. Who they get to pick from is up to the GM. If guys have been here too long, or don't belong, that is 100% on Kyle. GMs all over the league make decisions that their coaches don't like all the time. For some reason KW doesn't seem to get that.

Maybe they need to watch Moneyball

Condell is a complete ******* clown which is well-known around this league. He's a loser. Stain on this franchise and the legacy of the people making the decision to hire him in a playcalling role.

This statement couldn't be more right....The mark of a 'loser club' is when the 'losers' start washing up on their club

I don't think we're underachieving. I think we're coming back down to earth after a couple years of over achieving. Barely scrapping out wins we maybe shouldn't have. Covering up obvious concerns because we won, so it can't be that bad... jmo

As been proposed ad nausem in this forum, this is not about just what is going on this season- this has been fermenting for the past three seasons. There were plenty of warning signs but the Trinity ignore them all.

SORTA like the losers we had to concede to for coords/coaches the few yrs before 2019...we coming full circle sadly

I think that a quote from Pete Estes, former president of GM is appropriate here. Estes once said that GM is not in business to make cars. It is in business to make money and currently it was doing so by building cars. Miller may have taken the same tack- that the Bombers are in business to make money and the football operations were a means to that end. Ergo, so long as the faithful continue to show up in large numbers, there is no need for change.

If it was/is common knowledge around the league that O'Shea's way of doing things was inevitably leading to a crappy team with Walters and Miller passively accepting that, why would coaching staff who had other, better options want to come here?

4-4 but do we beat Hamilton if BLM finishes the game? Calgary was a close win and we needed extended OT to beat Ottawa. We could easily be 2-6 or 1-7. Club is not playing well.

I think the worst part is it doesn't go the other way... we're not a few plays away from being 6-2... all 4 losses were embarrassments...

“I feel like we’re very inconsistently consistent, and we’ve got to be able to finish those things, but in order to do that kind of thing, you’re not just gonna look at the outcome, so to speak. You’ve gotta chop wood and carry water, that kind of thing, and then you have to be able to do those things and not look just at the outcome. You’ve gotta look at the full what goes into the play and not just the stat or the ending of it,” said Condell.

“Every play has its own paragraph or own chapter, and the ending of the chapter is just the stat. We’ve gotta be worried about what’s happening within that whole play and not worry about the outcome, so to speak. The outcome will take care of itself, and I’ve got to be able to coach that, and be able to coach that way in order for them to think that way.”

season 2 GIF by Twin Peaks on Showtime

I get what he is trying to say. Bill Walsh wrote a whole book called "The Score Takes Care of Itself" (which is phenomenal, btw) based on this concept, which is how he built the dynasty 9ers.

Sun Tzu wrote that, "Strategy with out the Tactics is the slowest route to victory, and Tactics with out Strategy is the noise before defeat."

This clearly sounds and looks like Tactics without Strategy. Each drive, he is throwing some set of Tactics at the D, without an overarching Strategy. We are basically throwing darts at a wall, hoping to hit the dartboard but aren't even looking to see if that wall has a dartboard.

The way it should work is we use Tactics, setting up the run/play action, pump-and-go after screen setup, and route concept development, to accomplish a specific goal. Get the Wil in a 1on1 in the trail position on Demksi around the seam; use the run to develop play action with the screen game, keeping the box honest, then bust a play action or pump screen and go to get Nield good separation vs a half-down field. Using motion to disguise jet plays, reveal coverage, create pre-snap read option opportunities, etc.

We have a few tactics, but they don't have a strategy that they are trying to accomplish. Tactics, combined with strategy, create win conditions. Like our empty the backfield on second down to expose and limit the rush. But we aren't actually using Brady as more than a decoy, or even using him as a decoy well. We basically drop the QB back and have him hit whoever he can under coverage and hope they can gain the needed yardage. After Browns' first start, we haven't even used timing routes on one-step drops to at least get the ball to guys before the cushion is eaten up.

However, clued in Mos is to the deficiencies of this team, he is still completely blind to the fact that the biggest problems are culture/accountability/preparation/execution.

I love the book and enjoy the movie. They really, really did Art Howe dirty in the movie, though.

I think they should rewatch each of our losses and lowlights on a loop until we fix what is broken.

Only a few more weeks before summer is over & no one goes to Grand Beach in September. Got to take advantage of what's left of August. ;)

I've been complaining about that for awhile now. the lack of anything once the season is underway, The Trinity signs a few players in February. Then they sit around slapping each others backs backs & shaking hands saying their job is now done.

How can Collaros & Brown be questionable when they practiced full out twice this week? Just 3 practices this week after coming off a bye week & an embarrasing loss two weeks ago?? Like WTH is going on? You practice soft then you play soft. Unbelievable. the more things change, the more they stay the same with Osh.

Yeah..took day off yesterday as well for no particular reason too..mid week day off the week of a game. That makes total sense for a struggling team...no wonder we look like a confused unprepared mess game days

Yeah, I think it's time for Korny to go find a job with the Riders. Not sure who Matthew Jackson is exactly?

jackson is an imp s/db tweener who played one game

yeah I would have liked to see him get more of an opportunity...a bigger athletic tweener type who could have played multiple spots...in that role we use Hallett and Kelly he would have likely been way more impactful

For a team that's getting nothing but older, and we go and cut a Young Buck.
