How can Collaros & Brown be questionable when they practiced full out twice this week? Just 3 practices this week after coming off a bye week & an embarrasing loss two weeks ago?? Like WTH is going on? You practice soft then you play soft. Unbelievable. the more things change, the more they stay the same with Osh.

It’s not a designation that the team can just decide upon. If they missed any practice over the course of a week, they have to be designated as “questionable” no matter what.

There was no practice on tuesday from what I heard so the two practices they had they were full participants.

I get what he is trying to say. Bill Walsh wrote a whole book called "The Score Takes Care of Itself" (which is phenomenal, btw) based on this concept, which is how he built the dynasty 9ers.

Sun Tzu wrote that, "Strategy with out the Tactics is the slowest route to victory, and Tactics with out Strategy is the noise before defeat."

This clearly sounds and looks like Tactics without Strategy. Each drive, he is throwing some set of Tactics at the D, without an overarching Strategy. We are basically throwing darts at a wall, hoping to hit the dartboard but aren't even looking to see if that wall has a dartboard.

The way it should work is we use Tactics, setting up the run/play action, pump-and-go after screen setup, and route concept development, to accomplish a specific goal. Get the Wil in a 1on1 in the trail position on Demksi around the seam; use the run to develop play action with the screen game, keeping the box honest, then bust a play action or pump screen and go to get Nield good separation vs a half-down field. Using motion to disguise jet plays, reveal coverage, create pre-snap read option opportunities, etc.

We have a few tactics, but they don't have a strategy that they are trying to accomplish. Tactics, combined with strategy, create win conditions. Like our empty the backfield on second down to expose and limit the rush. But we aren't actually using Brady as more than a decoy, or even using him as a decoy well. We basically drop the QB back and have him hit whoever he can under coverage and hope they can gain the needed yardage. After Browns' first start, we haven't even used timing routes on one-step drops to at least get the ball to guys before the cushion is eaten up.

However, clued in Mos is to the deficiencies of this team, he is still completely blind to the fact that the biggest problems are culture/accountability/preparation/execution.

I love the book and enjoy the movie. They really, really did Art Howe dirty in the movie, though.

I think they should rewatch each of our losses and lowlights on a loop until we fix what is broken.

I’ve read The Score Takes Care of Itself too, and it was fantastic.

I know what he was getting at, he just did such a poor job of conveying it. Dude’s a terrible public speaker.

I hope he comes across as less of a horses ass in the room.

For a team that's getting nothing but older, and we go and cut a Young Buck.

I don't know anything about Jackson... I don't even remember him doing anything in the game he played (likely only played teams)... but I would've cut Moxey and started Jackson on Friday... might as well see what the young guy's got... can't get worse, right?

3 practices and a walk-through is a pretty full week. Seems like some manufactured outrage on this one.

wasn't it 2 practices and a walk through after a week off?

Nope. They started on Sunday.

Sunday, Monday, (Tuesday off), Wednesday, Thursday walk-through.

Yeah, they sure needed a day off after a full week off... They stunk the joint out 2 weeks in a row. You'd think the coaches & players would want to wipe that stench off. Nope. Give em another day off. It's only Ottawa. Obviouskly no one is concerned except the fans.

monday...and wednesday...after a week off from some embarrassing performances....hardly outrage

exactly....reason why we look like garbage more often than not going into games...no reason to take tuesday off...none..

Again, they started on Sunday. 3 practices and a walk-through. And sure you can run them to the ground as a “punishment”, but there’s nothing wrong with the number of practices this week.

There are times when MOS overvalues (in our opinion) rest and we only get a single practice a week - but this isn’t that.

No need to take mid week off..or run into ground..we generally look unprepared and rarely ready..there is a reason for that...country club atmosphere..if he wanted the extra day then take the Sunday...these are high level athletes...they could go everyday

When a team loses two games in a row badly then it's time for a coach to lower the boom. make his team work harder. Not reward them with a day off after an extended break. i could just see Ray Jauch or Cal Murphy doing that... said no long term Bomber fan who was around when they coached ever.

Professional football players don't use training camp to get in shape for the season like they did 50-60 years ago. They work out & train all year round. Going four practices this week should have been easy for them this time of year. There was no reason to give the team that day off.

Yea...I'm not sure exactly why this was done either. Makes no sense. Maybe the players are out doing some kind of team bonding thing today. I know that in years past they've taken practice days and had family day bbqs and stuff like that. Milt used to fly his family in for them.

yeah who knows...but coming off the bye I highly doubt it...Just Osh's poor game week prep

They mentioned in the Younger article giys were tired...well then maybe do some extra conditioning work....you can do that in a variety of ways in a game week to not wear anyone down....they also could have ran thru all their instal packages...down and distance situ's and who/when guys are subbing and lock it all down, as opposed to how confused and disjointed we look...and on many plays we are barely even ready let alone set up....simple little things like that would make a huge difference but nope

I'm not buying the guys are tired excuse. They've had 2 bye weeks already. Need to pare down the playbook.

This is one of the lamest excuses a coach would/could use...I'm losing faith daily in the OSHtrich

Yeah the excuse time is over now..too tired...execution issues.. communication problems..etc

Set a base formation.. let guys..the best guys suited to each position play there exclusively without all the movement and run with some standard stuff till its Instinctive to them..and can play fast and free...then do some more installs

I think its simplifying as much as anything. Getting back to what the pieces we have are good at, rather than trying to dictate a philosophy that has shown it wont work here. That goes for both O and D too.

So halfway through the season the team is somehow 5-4. Basically 3 more wins to lock up a playoff spot. 5 more wins probably gives a home playoff game. Remaining games:

  • Week 12 - @Elks

  • Week 13 - vs Als

  • Week 14 - Labour Day Classic

  • Week 15 - Banjo Bowl

  • Week 16 - BYE

  • Week 17 - vs Argos

  • Week 18 - @Als

  • Week 19 - vs Stamps

  • Week 20 - @Elks

  • Week 21 - @Lions

No more OTT, no more HAM. 2x Elks, 2x Als, 2x Riders.

Could be tough for this team to scrape out 3 more wins. They're going to have to start figuring their **** out. Next four weeks could be brutal.

IF we don't add a couple of difference makers in the next week, it will indicate we're not interested in the rest of the season..We know there's one out there in Geno....Could we make a deal with the guy or are we even interested ??...

If they were gonna make a move, they would have done it during the bye.. for better or worse, barring a significant injury, this is who we're rolling with.

KW and co need to get off their collective asses and bring in some players.

pure sign of a loser then....in any season refusing to get better if the option is there...just has loser stank all over it

A very high possibilty tha they could be 5-10 after October 3rd.
