Can't We All Just Get Along! - Steve Urkel getting along - quickmeme

I challenge anyone not to read that in the voice.

I’ll just say this. I was surprised when we drafted a Canadian QB. I liked it after researching him a bit. I actually liked it more when Green Bay gave him a shot and honestly thought he maybe was screwed a bit as on the highlights and stats he looked calm and composed. After his release I hope he’d have seen the bs that goes on down there and realized his best way to the nfl is to come here especially after a few months of doing very little to nothing. I’m happy he signed with us. I think he’s got potential to be a future QB for us, I hope for our sake this kid takes the reins next season or when given a chance and runs with it. I’m a bombers fan and Elgersma is a bomber now. I’m not sure why I originally thought he wasn’t drafted last year. But he was wasn’t he. It wasn’t 2 years ago at all. Last year so honestly waiting a year for a draft pick ain’t so bad. Not sure where the didn’t want to play for Winnipeg stuff came from, ya why would pro players want to play in front of guaranteed sellouts every night but basically it’s Zach for sure then 2 others plus prob keep a 4th if 3 others show they are capable. Looking at it in realistic terms, I’d assume based on just logic that Elgersma is one of those 3. The other 2 , 2 of thorn UFL and terry. Logically terry or UFL boy likely getting cut just based on thorn and Elgersma being younger. Kinda wild, Zach has all the experience Terry? Very little then the other 3? Zero cfl experience. The backup and 3 QB spot is gonna be probably the most interesting training camp battle hopefully they all get enough reps, Terry needs to step up tho as he’s competing with 3 guys with zero cfl experience

Any QB can run short yardage cuz if Terry can’t complete a pass after 2 3 years, CUT.

Finally he made the right decision..he should have known and sucked it up after his 6 workouts after the Packers it wasn't in cards right now. History of players of his football pedigree never will succeed at qb down there...its a fact

He has a lot to prove and learn and he finally will have the environment now to do it...now let's see what he does with it. Sure he looks the part...but so do a lot of players but they just can't make the jump.

Lighting up Canadian college kids is a far cry from transferring it in pros..so the sooner he got here to try..the better his longterm football life will be

Also I couldn't care less about people's boner about a Canadian qb..its irrelevant as the qb is just 1 of 24 starters...as a coach I want the 22...or 24 best available to me regardless of where they came from. To force a Canadian one...and 99 percent of time a lesser talent into one the more important spots to satisfy some stupid narrative...is well stupid...I could care less if he was a shot on a rock hatched by the sun...if hes the best then he plays

The TC battle for QB 2 and 3 tho just got more interesting no doubt.

But appears to be one of perhaps 3 or 4 interesting TC battles at spots, DL, DB and Receiver being the other. Perhaps center OL depending on draft.

It’s obvious that the UFL don’t make enough money to qualify. Isn’t it like 10 million in revenue or profit they have to be making. Ya. UFL ain’t close to that.

It's revenue, not profit. Their TV deal alone is reportedly worth around 20 million so they do seem to meet that criteria.

At 6'5" he might be a good idea for the short yardage QB.

Works very well for Tommy Stevens

Its been a long off season but there's reason to believe that maybe this season will be better than the last.

That's a low bar.

agreed...should b....better be....and if it's not based on Walter's work....then cutting the head off the coaching aspect who is the one in charge of roster...player retention and deletions....game day preparedness and adjusting has to be done...and basically confirms where the main issues lie....and I'd do it in the last 3rd of the season if we on outside looking up....and get the head start going into Grey Cup week to let any interested parties know we in the market....or do our own back channel tampering...as it's a common thing anyway so for us not o do it is just dumb

For now will give the benefit of the doubt based on moves and guys we moved on from...coaches we didnt retain (tho one is still lingering around...and god knows why)

Now was that all Walter's doing and removing temptations?...guess we shall see when final roster is posted after TC and how the first 3 or so games go and if it's just becoe the same ol same ol...just with a new cast of characters

I am skeptically optimistically at current, and think maybe some have learned finally and its adapt/evolve...or die...we shall see....but looking forward to camp and intend to try and get there several times to see first hand...I have no faith and trust in the media based on what I see from them when there...and what I read after the fact...and Tait's articles albeit a good read and well done, and enjoyable...are a lot of fluff pieces based on his marching orders

Hopefully Elgersma will flourish under Collaros' tutelage.

I think this is a great point if TE sticks around and maybe that is how ZC progresses into coaching.

The reality is that we have had multiple can't-miss quarterbacks come into camp and flame out, so the odds are against Elgersma. That several NFL teams thought highly enough of him to bring him in is reason for optimism but certainly no guarantee, but if you are a Bomber fan, you live on hope.

He looks the part...passed they "eye test" curious tho as why nobody kept him around for at least a yr to develop tho...guess we will see first hand in a month...maybe he doesn't have the aptitude or process ability at pro level...maybe back to the game he knows we reap the rewards...I pulling for him but with very tempered view

We * out **** but not boner. lol

TE will be Rourke 2.0 but better. One can hope. No harm no foul. )

Obviously I hope TE turns into Rourke but I just can't imagine a world where a CIS QB has the ability of an NCAA Div 1 kid.... But... Maybe TE is the best CIS QB of all time? Time will tell.

my hope is that the biggest reason we picked him and did it early was we liked the intangibles from the interview and conversations with his coach.

If the kids soft skills are as good as his raw arm talent, he’s got as good a chance as it gets.

I don’t expect any thing of value on the field this year from him. I’m hoping he shows a bit more of what he did in nfl pre season, but mainly that he shows great strides between now and next years camp.
