voodoochylde Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Poor guy. Loved Schoen and what he brought to this team in terms of toughness and talent - it was was a great combination. Back to back ACL tears though ... that's going to be tough to come back from as a receiver (if he does at all). I can't believe this organization trotted him out there again. ddanger, Bigblue204, rebusrankin and 2 others 4 1

I do not, however, think it makes much sense to be okay with calling the LDC the “Banjo Bowl Preview” but be mad because Rider fans are calling the BB the “Labour Day rematch.” Four championships in over a hundred year. Rider fans are ******* stupid lol

Brandon Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Sucks about Schoen. Maybe in two years he can attempt a come back at a much reduced salary?

JMO, I personally think Schoen is done for his career. Two ACL tears in the same knee (I think) and getting near 30. I supported his signing and he was OK health wise until the Calgary game. Bringing him back for the LDC gave us the worst possible outcome. Bigblue204, rebusrankin and bigg jay 1 2
bigg jay Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Feel terrible for Schoen and whoever made the call to play him with that injury should feel terrible as well. Schoen's career shouldn't be the only down the drain - that's inexcusable. Edited 1 hour ago by bigg jay JohnnyAbonny and BomberBall. 2
Super Duper Negatron Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago (edited) So this means we hung our two point attempt to tie the game on a guy with a blown ACL? Like blown earlier, but also reportedly re-injured in the same game? What the **** is wrong with our coaches? Have they learned nothing from the past Grey Cups? Same one he re injured, and then tried to play through in the LDC. Guy was clearly not even close to ready all year. Yet we've kept trying to hammer him back into the roster. And now, we've very, very likely ruined him and his career. Clearly, the guy will play through any level of pain and try to help his team out. The staff, and especially Mos have failed to protect him as a player, and the teams investment in him. It's a series of unforgiveable, unconscionable mistakes. They just ruined a generational talent, and who knows what his quality of life will end up like down the road. we ruined him....Injuring a repaired knee after it hasn't fully healed...bad news...he wont even be seen next yr....consider him done...I cant see a 2027 comeback being anything other than meh. Osh needs to go....Couture and his staff too have my doubts about...consider who we rostered the last few yrs in the playoffs We effectively this yr more or less took ourselves outta both the Lawler and Schoen sweepstakes...on a grey cup year...and passed on Rhymes..Coxie...Lewis...Dunbar...among others Just the fact he re-injured it...and we knew it and played him anyway....sickens me....I can see a first time and nottotal tear, as you can brace it and somewhat play on it...tho not ideal for a reciever...but none the less...what a epic mistreatment of a player If you recall as soon as I heard he was braced up in practice....i said bad news..red flags...he gonna be done sooner than later...low and behold Man it not even my knee and I furious about this.... 49 minutes ago, SectionKBlackout said: Oshea has become Dave Ritchie at the end of his tenure. If you're not his guys, you don't play. Per Ed Tait. Schoen tore his acl in Calgary and tried to play through it. Done for the year. Ritchie tho was a an actual coach...and his guys were his Achilles heel...but he also rostered the best available for most part....until they had next to know tread....big difference....better coach... 46 minutes ago, Mike said: Legit ridiculous we did this AGAIN where we trot a guy out there with an injury when we’ve been burned by it so many ******* times at what point is this just no longer “loyalty”? when does it become “negligence”? Saw with Logan too....clearly not ready....Dude didnt just lose it over an off-season And also....I wouldnt even call it loyalty in a lot of instances....some yeah..alot stupidity....and a lot playing to his fav's...

The Bombers did not at ALL see it coming... we should have been better prepared. I would generally think O'Shea would be able to anticipate such a thing, even though it was really quite out of the blue. In that situation, no. You play the play as if they're going for it. That could have been a huge moment had they gone for it. I'm not faulting the coaches for that at all. Nichols got a **** bounce from the ball. 1 hour ago, Slimy Sculpin said: Yes, when was the last time the Bombers did something "surprizing"? Several times this year on 3rd and short (3-4 yards), I've seen the middle of the opposition's 3rd down D peel off or get blocked to the side leaving quite the gap with the oppositoion moving/leaning the opposite way. Has Sheehan, who I assume has some athletic ability, ever scooted up the middle for those yards? I realize that he's got to make up the behind the LOS yards but, IMO, there have been big lanes available. They snapped the ball in shotgun formation on 2nd and inches....that was surprising....

Kind like putting Zach out when his throwing hand is bleeding. JohnnyAbonny 1
Arnold_Palmer Posted 39 minutes ago Report Posted 39 minutes ago I loved this era of blue bomber football, I appreciate all the good memories in the past decade but I really think it’s time to clean house this off season. I want a head coach who cares about player safety, not someone who thinks it’s heroic to play injured, it’s cost us a lot of big games, and now potentially Schoens career. BomberBall. and bigg jay 2

Ridiculous, but not surprising. There needs to be a point where the coaches have to step in and save a player from himself. A player wanting to play through a particular injury, does not absolve you of any responsibility. Like you said…. Just sickening.

There was so much that could have been done to avoid it, but at this point I’m afraid you may be right. The core of the team was alower to all age out at the same time and coaching/management have made too many boneheaded decisions over the past 2+ years. Out of the guys we currently have, who can you rebuild/reload a team around starting in 26? QB- Zach is 37, Strev is pretty much done. We have no idea about Wilson but Inhave my doubts, no idea about Artopeous. No idea if Elgersma will ever come here. RB- Brady is still in his prime. Peterson is a solid backup. We’re pretty good here WR- Demski is playing very well but getting up there in age age, and pretty beat up, probably doesn’t have a lot of years left. Pokey is a keeper, Clercius is a keeper. Wheatfall is solid but not special. Everyone else is borderline useless. OL- Wallace with some seasoning will be a keeper, Bryant is old. Vanterpool and Randolph are keepers. DL- Willie is on the downside of his career, though he’s one of my all Time favourite Bombers and a surefire HOFer. Vaughters is washed. Woods needs to start a number of games to see if he’s worth keeping. Adams is decent but not great. Thomas and Kornelson, we all know. LB- Woodbey is promising but we’ve only seen 1 game. The rookie Canadians are promising but completely untested. Tony Jones is mediocre, Wilson is old. J. Jones never sees the field but should be a keeper based off how he played for TO. DB- Griffin is a keeper. Allen is a maybe. Vaval is a maybe. Holm is pushing 30. Nichols is aging rapidly. Others are mediocre at best. ST- Sergio is very good, Sheehan has improved. Leaves us with maybe 7-8 skill players worth moving forward with on both sides combined. 2-3 OL. 1-2 DL. I’m pretty sure we need a full scale rebuild at this point, the cupboards are pretty bare.
