People try to look at it binary, injured or not injured.  These injuries often never get close to 100%.  Everyone is playing with something, everyone has vulnerabilities related to previous injuries.  Cleared to play doesn't mean anything close to back where a player was pre injury.  And at a certain point sitting out another month doesn't guarantee that you're any less vulnerable....that's when they are cleared to play.

There's guys in every organization that get destroyed by lower body injuries, shoulders etc.  Mailk Henry went from a torn achilles to ruptured patella right when he came back.  Where's Kian Schaffer-Baker?  Comes back for a couple games and gets hurt again.  MBT was playing with no elbow for 4 weeks because Montreal has no other QB.  Davis Alexander is probably going to have to come back again before he's recovered from a soft tissue injury.

It's a very hard sport and in any sport athletes get into a cycle of injury once they start having serious ligament and tendon injuries at joints.  Do you just tell every person who tears their ACL to retire?

The 'It's on the player' narrative is wrong. It's on the medical staff. Player's want to play no matter what.

Exactly...regardless what a player says or wants...you have to thank him for his passion and desire..but put him...and key word "team" first

U can't rehab a torn acl...u need to surgically repair it...so this "he rehabbed it as best he could" so he could play is a heap of crap

Re-tearing a surgically repaired tendon basically last yr post surgery...should be an automatic back to surgery ASAP and fix it and start "actual" rehab

Why delay it...for sub par play...and then pooching the whole next season?

ACL is a ligament.  That's what the L is.

I'll just assume you're winning the Powerball based on how great you are at predicting the future.

No...get it fixed...and appropriate rehab...feom cgy game on...that didnt occur

There's a.diff between sprains and strains...bumps and bruises...broken bones...and tendons requiring season ending surgery

You can play thru...and rehab without surgery sprains and strains...breaks...etc...the latter...no

I played 2 seasons with a cast on hand...cause you can

Blew knee out 2x....surgery...rehab...slow integration back to part time...then full bore usage

So you're fixated on the extra week?  The option was to try to extend this season with bracing.  And has been done often.  Season is well past halfway point.  Tried it, didn't go well.  Lost a week.  No further behind.

I'm sure Wade Miller would accept your application for team doctor or head of athletic therapy.

There was no point in it...and usually too a braced attempt is more on lineman...not skilled position guys...and what good woukd a guy less than capable be?? And then surgery post sesson...and miss the whole next...if he has surgery after we exit season...and won't be late Nov...he won't be ready for 2026

I like how your take is supposed better than anyone else and everyone else's is wrong...have you played with an acl injury...before it...after it...and had surgery...and played again?...just curious...

Why didnt we brace him up last yr then...or Parker...or Bonds this yr...Biggie....cause its stupid

We tried it after he retore a fresh repair cause we woefully weak and lacking talent and depth...and woefully inept at rostering ...that's not an excuse or reason for what we tried...it was desperation at its finest

Well most recent ACL example I'm acquainted with was Gavin Walls in 09 finishing that season braced then working back from surgery with Montreal.

One of my former athletes try to tough out a CFL career with constant ACL injuries with the Als.

Like you said more common on lines, but Rourke's brother played most of last season for Indiana on a torn ACL braced.  Obviously not possible in every case.  Need stability and ability for movement.

I luckily have not had knee issues, but near constant ankle and shoulder issues.

I'm not saying you're wrong.  You're attacking this situation with one point of view that everything the Bombers do is wrong.  Your bias makes everything you say basically meaningless at this point because you can't look at anything with any moderate logic.

Lately tho...not far off

There was no reason for Schoen to try that tho..hes still young...wouldn't have made difference...and was just delaying the inevitable...surgery required
