Doublezero Posted Sunday at 10:29 PM Report Posted Sunday at 10:29 PM (edited) My guess is that ZC may be out for awhile. Just a hunch but he may be dealing with a recurring injury from August 2023, after which his efficiency as a QB began to decline. Right now, six games or 1/3 into 2025 season, ZC has the worst QB efficiency rating among all the 9 regular starting QBs. Collaros also has the highest INT percentage with 8 INTs vs 7 TDs. Colloros's QB efficiency rating isn't just the worst among starters, at 89.1 it is significantly worse than the others. You could argue Zach has the weakest receiver unit in the league which would contribute to this inefficiency. But looking back at 2024 with a better crop of receivers, Collaros threw 19 INT vs 21 TDs - this includes 4 INTS in the GREY CUP and 4 TDs in West Final - which gave Zach the worst INT percentage last year among QBs who started 10 games or more. That is a total of 28 INT versus 28 TDs in the past 25 games in which Collaros has appeared. Yes you can lay some of that on the receivers. But still. This is not to take away from Zach's substantial contribution since he arrived here in 2019 - respect! But the decline in Collaros's performance since around August 11 2023 neck injury vs Elks (when Dru Brown came off the bench to win the game) is clear as day. We can't play Streveler if Zach is making nearly $600,000 a year & Streveler $180,000. Bonus for us (ho boy!) is next year Zach has guaranted money- 50%, so $250-$300,000. No team will pick up his contract for that. Lots of strange decisions were made by Walters this past off season but this is a crippler financially. captaincanuck12 Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago I used to think the Collaros extension was for him to groom the next Bomber QB. But it's clear as long as MOS is in charge, we'll continue to trot him out there hoping he can regain his 2019 form. After all you can't be great if you don't play (Circa 2023 Bighill and Schoen)! Anyways this team is a dumpster fire right now. I really hope that someone has the balls to remove Jake Thomas and Bridges. And for the love of God, put Dillon Mitchell in. wbbfan, Piggy 1, Tracker and 1 other 2 1 1

Goalie Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago Yes get rid of our Canadians cuz we totally have the depth to get rid of 3 guys. Don’t even have the depth really to cut Thomas. wbbfan 1

Knew that wasn't it once we moved on from Brown. Everyone knows it in hindsight, but really wanted us to trade Zach for some value while he had it and go young. Then last off season basically all the young guys took over spots/teams, and the vets dispersed as back ups. At this point, I hope Elgersma sticks the whole year in the NFL on PRs and is in camp next year. If he ends up here this year, it will likely cost us Artopoeus. Chase, Elgersma, Wilson, and Strev are likely our best case scenario next TC. short of us making some move to replace one of them with a younger, slightly more experienced cfl guy. Jake and Kola gotta go. And after that, we need to prioritize young development over mediocre veteran production. Still wouldn't bet that actually happens for the most part. I think bridges is the only guy who lost his job, Vaval might finally be out as a KR for the year, though he looked solid at db. No reason Parker should continue at S over a guy like Allen. I think Woodbeys physicality would be a massive improvement for us too. rebusrankin, Bigblue204 and Tracker 3

Tony Jones you can keep, just wish he wasn't starting at the expense of the other Jones. Hell maybe play both Jones at linebacker. Wilson hasn't done a lot consistently either and is an injury waiting to happen. Heck J.Jones and Ayers start and T. Jones backs up. Boom make it happen. T. Jones probably a better "backup DE" option compared to Ayers anyway. wbbfan 1

The Canadian depth we have is strong. Starting Canadians are weak. Though we could platoon shay and smith at 1lber spot, which would cost us little on the field and give us tremendous upside. If we flipped Wil to platoon NI, Makonzo can be a dime to rotate with shay and smith. Then we could start Woods and Adams, rotating in Lawson. Which would give us ratio flexibility off the bench too. That is excellent versatility with our depth. We could also start lawson and rotate with over the cap NI. Dress Bailey for the 2nd global and suddenly we have an extremely deep DL that can rotate freely. We also have a good few guys who can play inside out in many fronts. We don't need the extra NI Dt by any means. Swap kola for eli, and maybe dress Viebert as the extra OL. Put in mitchell, and cobb for case and ball. Lots of easy wins with better roster management. Yeah I'd keep T.Jones on roster...he's a great backup...can be really good in situational play...he can excel on teams as well....He should be in Ayers DA spot and would actually be used...why Ayers isnt is baffling...and when he has been...he's used out of position...and with the teams realization Person can play...and play well and will only get better...I dont think I even seen Ayers take a snap other than maybe short yardage??...even then you would think Person took his role there....so really...what a waste of a DA J.Jone taking over in the middle, and if we only need to g=have 1 Canadian on any given snap on defence then slide Griffin or Parker back to SAM....That would help a lot in regards to the confusion in the flats and 10-15 yards from L.O.S Bridges has to be taken out for at least a game to send a message to all players that if you are sucking....you are gonna be replaced...Let Allen get his shot at either safety or CB....and ideally drop Ball or one of Korn and Thomas and let Bailey loose and see what he gives the defence in rotation....and he can play teams as well.....gottafind the right sauce here before it gets into too late territory 1 hour ago, wbbfan said: The Canadian depth we have is strong.
