1 mos. Ugly game day roster again, coached with no urgency, poor execution. What’s worse, no one seemed to mind getting blown out. Too happy to be headed home for the bye.

2 Thomas, kornelson, wj and vaughters. The ends were gassed in the first quarter, Jake couldn’t even be in the way and kornelson pretty much the same.

3 zach / hogan. They had no idea what to do playing from behind, check down and screens short of the marker over and over again. Zach threw two scores to the wrong guys, but wasn’t as abysmal as last year still.

crappy honker vaval fighting the ball all night.

Honorable mentions, kyrie, Adams, Brady, clercius, the punter.

dishonorable mentions, schoen, kola, Parker, bridges, Kramdi, bonds and Randolph.

Osh...poor roster construct...not going for that 3rd and goal in 1st...keeping ZC and BO in as long as he did..not going for 2 and onside kick if not for anything to practice it..ho hum attitude on sideline..team obviously unprepared or poorly coached up...basically same ol song and dance

Jake...korn..kolo..a bit lesser extent Jones and Kramdi..is that best we can do? and if so better start bringing in some bodies

Kudos to Adams..Clercius..Wilson..Nichols...BO..Holm...they brought it all game

That's about it...but man o man just getting the status quo same ol vibes...again

Pretty sure Ayers got hurt...Not feeling good bout Schoen...as been in those shoes and didn't like what I saw...did Korn get more than 3..4 snaps and was it just at end in garbage? So why even dress him

If Ayers is out is this the good Jones chance to get on roster? We definitely need some energy and youth/athleticism on the dline..Will we get Bailey and Person on roster if for anything to see what they bring/add...as the current combo save for 4 guys isn't cutting it and 2 of those 4 require the complimentary rotation pieces to bring their game up

It does need to be mentioned:

With 2 pick sixes on the board, the D gave up 23 points. Most nights, that's a W.

Numbers aside, I don’t think the O, D, or kr team played well enough to win. That was a find any way to lose you can effort. The stamps coasted off early success because we let em too.

This is a slippery slope.

Stamps attempted 18 passes all game. They got up big and then played not to lose. The way the DLine was getting dog walked and the DBs were getting outworked by the receivers in the first half, had the offense had the juice to turn it into a shootout Adams likely would have ended up with 400 yards.

1.  MOS/coaching staff. Just woefully unprepared in every aspect. The entire team had a lackadaisical mentality like the game would eventually just work itself out.  From starting a guy with the flu at defensive tackle to not being able to use a challenge in the most blatantly obvious situation. Playing dink and dunk down 3 touchdowns.  Just baffling decision making all around.

2. The DL, this partially falls on roster makeup but Willie is already gassed out at week 5, Vaughters was a flat-out bad signing and Jake was good depth a decade ago.

3. Collaros. 2 pick 6’s and panicked and overthrew a wide open receiver on a sure TD.

Crappy Honker- Randolph takes a brutal holding penalty on the first drive of the game which more than likely took 6 off the board.
Non-Bomber crappy honker- The line judge who was giving Calgary extra full yards on multiple occasions.

HM

Devin Adams had a good game when he actually saw the field.

Brady had some nice runs when he wasn’t falling down

Clercius.

1. DL. Hot garbage. Jake with 2 tackles is the same as Willie and Devin adams and 1 more than Vaughters.

2. DBs. They were owned in the first half.

3. Zach. The pick 6’s are game changers.

4. People who put coaches on here when it’s obvious the coaches were not happy with the effort. Effort is on the players not the coaches.

Game ended at a reasonable hour

No like:

PREPARATION/EXECUTION.

D seemed unready for Adams and the Calgary O, to start.  After the 1st pick 6, the offensive game plan looked like a dice roll.   Bombers started the game with mistake after mistake - never got better.....struggled with basic stuff - making a handout, hitting open receiver, catching wide open passes et al.

Bombers came looking for trouble......and found it.    Not good enough.

DL.  This isn't a computer game, where you just tag 4 guys as your D-line.....and just run it.   Have to construct a ROTATION, with more than one guy (Adams) who can penetrate.  Couldn't find our DEs with a Geiger counter.....

ZAC.  The pick sixes, weren't the kind a vet QB should throw.  Too many high balls, late balls and Workman Comp.balls...

TSN

Panel providing an embarrassing new version of Hee Haw.

I don't think there were any shining examples of competence last night.  It was a complete team stinker.  Hopefully the bye week will reboot the team, but I'm not holding my breath.  All the DBs were a step and a half behind, receivers were content to wait for the ball to come to them and Zach looked like he was playing for the other team.

The team is just old.  WJ seems to be phoning it in so far this year.  Jake, aside from one play a game, seems to be content with trotting onto the field in a "look at me I'm still playing" prance.  I feel we're on the verge of slipping into mediocrity again.

Fans don't like to look at those things.   Easier to blame the defense.

Does anyone call in to the coaches show and ask these questions? I haven't listened in a long time but I'd love to hear the answer to these preparation questions.

I stopped listening to the coach's show a long time ago .. basically a bunch of non-answers and folks rambling / asking nonsensical questions.   There's nothing of value that comes out of it.

The defense (objectively) wasn't good last night.

Poor tackling.

Poor communication.

Poor execution all around.

It doesn't help that Zach threw two touchdown for the other team but the defence did *nothing* to help the cause last night.

Yes it wasn't good,  but they shouldn't be blamed for the 14 points from the two, pick 6s.

The defense isn't going to have to do much in the second half if they give up 22 points in the first half and the offense can't move the ball. The PxP has Vernon Adams completing 4 short passes / 5 in the second half, but when you are up by 20 why would you push the defense. Point differential is unlikely to come into effect, keep everything nice and easy... Big Play VA is notorious for working both ways.

This is why you can't stat sheet watch.... Bombers put up 400 yards of net offense, but that was mostly empty calories where they couldn't finish drives or were playing against a soft Calgary defense that was rushing 3 and was keeping everything ahead of them... 55 pass attempts for only 316 yards is nuts. They only gave up 300 yards of net offense... but the Stamps had a 20 point lead starting at the halfway point of the 2nd quarter and they adjusted their offense accordingly.

Kick coverage was pretty good.

Run blocking to. Not much else.

Like most here, gave up on it long ago. Mos always has some slippery none answer for any tough question.

"Well you know, the effort was there. I think the guys know what is expected and how to rebound after a performance like that. Coaching staff too. We'll look at the film and move on to next week."

There, I just saved you from having to listen to the show after someone asked every single question that been proposed on here.

Kick coverage and the ol were both respectable. Clercius was good. That might be it for positives.

The first pick six I’ll give the Stamps player credit for a good play. The second one was inexcusable from Collaros. That ball needed to be out right away or not at all. He has to know better.

No pressure from the des. Willie got chipped by the rb a lot, but still. Adam’s needs to play more and we need another de on the roster. No idea if the pr guys are any good, but it’s time to find out.

I'd add the ole 'we're not going to win every game'. 🙂

in football...when players seem to perform well....and when they seem to perform like crap....it's generally on team prep and coaching/scheme leading into the game....what may look like a bone head play could be the player coached to do this...opposed to that

Players cant go rogue or they will not see the feild.....that being said sure some times exceptional effort/talent can supersede poor prep/coaching...we saw a lot of that in 2019 thru to mid 2022....but are talent and youth has waned...a lot ans we have a HC who insists to look back...and not forward...and definitely not at whats going on currently

Also....if guys are dogging it...or just not getting it done...thats when th HC needs to show he has a pair of stones in his saggy scrout and pull a player(s) and not worry about ruffling a vet's...or a fav's feathers or ego...plain and simple

Outside of run blocking (and Calgary is in the bottom third of run defense), I thought line play was terrible.

Neufeld getting completely turned around .. Randolph giving up that late sack that nearly got Streveler killed .. Kolo being dog walked .. is not emblematic of good line play.  Even Bryant's play is falling off but that may be more a sign that the unit as a whole struggling vs. Big Stan in isolation (though I do think he's no longer the premier tackle he used to be).

That said ..

I do think Vanterpool / Wallace are upgrades over Dobson (who I never thought lived up to expectation).   Randolph over Lofton feels like addition by subtraction (though Randolph hasn't exactly lit the world on fire).
