  • He sucks

  • Yeah....He had a perfect group of guys to catch league off-guard at first to toss up a lot of contested balls...and got lucky with that...and they let an awfull lot of OPI go on with his 2 big targets

He had 8 REALLY good games 3 years ago and he has been riding that in the CFL ever since.

And a bunch of beating up on weak teams in that too.

cfl.ca posted his splits for the Bombers vs the rest of the league, I wish they would have split out the Elks from the 'Rest of the CFL' stats as well.

Yeah....He had a perfect group of guys to catch league off-guard at first to toss up a lot of contested balls...and got lucky with that...and they let an awfull lot of OPI go on with his 2 big targets....But teams figured him out...and he faded....also his quick strike plays when not there, and he had to actually decipher a defense...well you seen the difference

Our defense especially with multiple looks...and the same looks but it switches at snap...utterly confuses him

Betts too...One big season and a lot of that was questionable "was he offside" crap...once he started to get called....and guys got hands on him...What he do? Not a helluva lot...except pout and show a piss poor attitude

My gripe with a lot of  the CFL Media and especially TSN is this over the top/unwarranted Canadian pushing with certain players....I get it's the CFL but enough already....Market and promote the actual top players who been doing it for yrs...regardless of where they were hatched. The average joe fan or a lot of the new fans they are wanting to pull in...and a lot of them are...and where a it's  a huge market  is within the immigrant community...they could give a rats ass...Most Canadians really could care less other than a small fraction...Whats it really matter...it's played in Canada...under unique Canadian rules by a lot of Americans who call Canada home yr round...promote that aspect

Not to look at things thru blue glasses but it really is an injustice to BO that the powers that be in the CFL don't promote him more...What Canadian RB post the late 70's early 80's...Or player for that matter has won back to back MOC....A MOP and MOC season...gunning for 4 straight 1000 yard seasons...lead league multiple in a row...and actually grew up in Canada...played all his formative ball in Canada prior to College?....These the guys that should be getting the attention

Sophomore slump is definitely a thing. He had a cup of coffee in 2021, and then went super nova in 2022... by the time he came back from his Lisfranc injury the league had caught up to him and the 18 months in the NFL definitely didn't help that. You could tell in the 2022 West Final the Bombers knew exactly how to handle him.

BO not being the face of the league is almost marketing malpractice at this point. I think the only player who comes close to his follow on socials is Kelly 🤢. His work with vulnerable animals should be front and centre.

I personally find it hilarious - he was penciled in by so many as MOP/MOC. Has to do nothing to earn his flowers from so many.

Off topic: I hate this expression with every fibre of my being.  Earn his flowers?  I've heard it more and more over the last two-ish years (at a point, almost daily) and it's just cringe.  Just say "earned the respect" or "lived up to the hype".  Pun intended - there's no need to be so flowery.  It reeks of trying to make something .. a thing.  Simple language is the best language.

On topic: Rourke has pretty much been a bust since he returned from the NFL.  They ruined him last year by rushing him back into the lineup.  He may never live up to (or have a chance to live up to) his potential and the hype surrounding him because of it.

those splits would be ugly lol.

For QBs especially, once you have a decent sample of game footage and seen how the guy plays when he’s game planned for, every thing changes.

It’s easy for a qb to take defences by surprise, especially if he’s athletic, before they have film and experience with him. That’s a huge part of the sophomore slump and why it generally doesn’t get better late into that 2nd year as a starter.

we’ve seen soo many fly by night guys who can’t replicate their early success.

I’m not saying he’s Casey Printers, but.. B.C Lions, to the NFL, back to the CFL and numbers drop off significantly compared to their first stint does sound awfully familiar.

Yeah, he has to prove he isn’t printers/jennings etc.

The CFL does not market itself at a league level. It doesn't care about its players. It never has. It expects teams to market themselves. Some, like the Bombers do very well. Others like Calgary & Toronto couldn't care less. They won't spend a penny marketing its players. Vernon Adams should be all over Calgary hyping the next game & season making appearances to sell tickets but nope.

Yup, also Dane Evans.
Also, the fact arbuckle never had that success speaks volumes.

Dane Evans had all the tools physically but his toolbox (head) was empty. He couldn't handle the pressure of being "The Guy". I don't think I ever saw a pro qb just melt into a huge blob as a player in front of our eyes. It was sad to watch.

Arbuckle should be playing much better & not make such bonehead throwing errors but he still does. If he hasn't got it by now then he never will. How the **** did we ever lose to that sack of ****? How embarassing.

Yeah we exposed and then ruined him...he was most mentally fragile player i have ever seen

In the GC, Arbuckle looked like the next break out star & now KABOOM!!!! The floor had just dropped out & his stock as a viable CFL qb is falling fast.

Why couldn't this ******* floor drop out sayyyyyyyyyyyy in last years Grey Cup?!?!?

Coaching decisions lost us that game, especially putting an injured Zach Collaros in just to throw 2 pick sixes to put the game out of reach.

The Bombers GC defensive game plan was to give Arbuckle all kinds time to hopefully confuse him and let him eff it up himself.  Zero pressure and coverage seemed off even when the game was still within reach.  Guy was coached perfectly to just take what was given… and the Bombers obliged.

Your last sentence is soooo frustrating yet true.

A strong Dline would've kept that game far closer

Seeing Jake on an island by himself being stood straight up & pushd back while he fought on his tippy toes was maybe the worst thing I ever saw as a football fan. That shoukld have told him it's time to retire but no... he coms back & Osh makes him a starter.

Jake was excellent last week vs BC. As for being a starter...that was due to injury.

It's kind of what our defence did all year tho except our secondary play was superb. We rushed 3 for a good portion of the year last year and let QBs try throw against us. It was our bread and butter, GC we laid an egg.
