2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season

From 3DN about TSN broadcasts this year....

"The CFL on TSN is taking a renewed approach to its broadcasts for 2025.

The network’s panel will travel to all nine stadiums over the course of the upcoming season, sources told 3DownNation, including visits to Regina and Montreal in Week 1. Kate Beirness is returning to host the panel with Henoc Muamba and Davis Sanchez filling the main roles alongside her.

Paul LaPolice will also frequently appear on the panel, though he will also perform colour commentary for one game per week. As previously reported, longtime panelist and Hall of Fame quarterback Matt Dunigan is no longer with the network.

As for Milt Stegall, who has been with the network since 2009, there is no timeline for his return after the death of his eldest son, Chase. The 20-year-old died unexpectedly at DePaul University on Monday where he was a member of the school’s soccer team.

“Our CFL on TSN family is absolutely devastated over Chase’s passing. If you know Milt, you know that his family is everything to him, and we cannot imagine the pain he is going through right now,” said producer Chris Edwards in a statement to 3DownNation. “Milt is our brother and we are going to give him our love and support him in any way we can, and in whatever way he needs.”

During a broadcast teeing up the 2025 season on Tuesday, TSN dedicated its coverage this year to Chase’s memory.

TSN plans to flesh out the panel by rotating in active players, though it doesn’t appear as though this will happen every week. Players will generally make panel appearances during bye weeks, though there may also be opportunities for in-studio appearances when players are in town to play the Argonauts or Tiger-Cats.

Friday Night Football, a longtime network staple, will have a brand new presentation featuring fresh animations, graphics, and music. One source called the scope of the production “bigger.”

The play-by-play personnel at the network has remained unchanged for 2025, featuring Rod Smith, Dustin Nielson, Marshall Ferguson, and occasionally Farhan Lalji. Colour commentary will be performed by Glen Suitor, Duane Forde, and LaPolice."

Honestly the main selling point of the CFL are the timing rules of the final 3 minutes.  And arguably the most boring part of any NFL game when a team with a one score lead can just bleed the clock un

I see a bc and mtl final as well...

Hamilton would be nice tho to break their drought. Be funny too with all our cast offs being deemed not good enough...not worth the price...or alienated by this staff...be nice kick to the onions for the tall foreheads here

All I know is just get in, and anything can happen. I don’t think there are any true favourites this year. BC gonna have to play in the cold in Regina, they have shown they can’t do that. If BC was first then maybe they ride the dome to the finals here but they will play outside in cold weather if they win their game. Montreal is a Davis Alexander injury away from being crap. Sask? As if anyone trusts Trevor Harris in October and November. There are no favourites

Bombers have as good as a chance as anyone else if they get in. Especially in colder weather, Brady ball is made for November and they have the experience. I think in late October November when it matters, experience plays a role. It does in most sports. Now do I trust the OC to come up with the game plan or trust youngers D to not give up TDs every time we score or opening drives of halfs?  No I do not. But I don’t trust rourke in minus weather and I don’t think Alexander stays healthy and I don’t trust Trevor Harris or VA in cold weather either.  Winnipeg vs Sask final. Sask dresses in our room lol.

Bo Levi would have to play the game of his life, but it is possible, if improbable.

Why any true bomber fan would want or even suggest another team winning to show them what’s up after going to 5 straight ******* grey cups is wild. That’s not a bomber fan in my opinion In any way, show them what exactly? The bombers cup wins were against Hamilton ffs. Yeah that will show them, honestly. The anger some of you have towards a ******* sports team is insane. It’s not right. Sports ain’t for you if all it does is piss you off and anger you. What’s the point. You win some, you lose some. That’s sports. Always has been always will be. Dynasties or empires or mafias don’t last forever and honestly it’s just childish bullshit.

It's called being a realist.    If I were to have to put money down on who wins the Grey Cup... I most certainly would lean towards putting that money on the Riders over the Bombers this season.   It's not being a "bad fan" ,  it's called being a realist.

Everyone on here "hopes" the Blue can pull off a miracle and win it this season.   It's just that based on what they have shown it's highly unlikely.  So people are saying what the 2nd best option would be.  For myself I say Hamilton because I'd rather that fan base gets to enjoy a Grey Cup win over listening to Rider fans celebrate and be ultra annoying about winning the cup.

Agreed, IF the Bombers aren't the team to win it all then I hope it is the TiCats. Personally, I will cheer for the Bombers though and think that they could still get to the Cup. Got to be consistent though.

We have supplied Hamilton with serious upgrades in talent. Not a single bit of that has been from our cast offs though. Unless, you wanna call Lawler and Dobson castoffs which they most certainly are not. The rest of the players that have gone there have made little to no impact. Roster fillers and/or injured most of the season. Still banging the Garbutt/Fox drum and that is sad. They suck.....1 sack combined. Yep....that will win the cup for Hamilton. Really...honestly...you think Fox/Garbutt/Hubert/Wolitarsk (injured almost all year)/BOLO represent any kind of missed opportunity by the Bombers? That just shows your overwhelming bias against our coaches. Those guys aren't why we are losing. Lawler/Dobson....yep,,,they are big factors in our **** season. They ain't castoffs tho. They are gone due to poor GMing. Man, what could have been if Walters had done his job.

I generally agree with what your are saying. But both BOLO and Wolly would still be massive upgrades to the depth chart. Having Bolo come on the field last game instead of Coracan would have been massive.

any player we let walk cause we chaped out to pay slugs...is a cast off....and i dunno....they loaded with ex Bombers who have made them a better team than the current Bombers

To say that the ex Bombers didnt upgrade their roster...then why they on the roster Mr Know it all....yeah I talking to u....do tell

Guys we replaced all them with here aint getting it done...we a barely 500 club

Didn't the current Bombers just dog-walk the Tigercats to the tune of 40-3?

Ever since the rule change announcement I have noted a ton of plays that wouldn't be possible with the new rules. Catches at the back of the endzone. Missed FG returns. Field goals made.from the 35 and beyond. Lead changes in the final three minutes.

I have seen zero goal posts hit or collided with.

This is going to be a disaster.

I hoped this would occur since they announced it and it has. Like every game. It’s wild. Universe is telling the commish he’s the r word.

plus a ring for Ted’s last year. Hamilton would be my preference.

The only acceptable answer to this question is anyone but Saskatchewan.

I'd add the Argos to your list but that's being taken care of already. 🙂

Losing those exciting plays and still have the same shitty QB play.  Basically every starting QB in this league is either 35+ or constantly injured.  And half of them are lousy.

NFL is honestly mostly a mistake fest too because of how bad the QB's are relative to the athletes on D.  Not sure why we're striving to take out the exciting parts of our sport to become that.  Market the league better, work on player development.  Doesn't matter what the rules are when you have 3 guys in the whole league that can pass.

Yeah. Think the ship has sailed there for now. Best bet to sign here take zachs job and who knows. Im expecting him in camp next year.

Maybe some team was telling his camp something that didn't come to fruition... you would think being on a CFL roster and practicing week-to-week then entering back into the window would be preferable for a CIS guy rather than sitting around for a season working out by himself but who knows.

Obviously baseless speculation, but something smells with Brown being shut down early in Ottawa. I wonder if they enter into a full rebuild if he could be pried out and the rights to Elgersma be the piece... would the Bombers never do that in a million years thinking they have the next Rourke? Would the Redblacks jump at the chance thinking they'd have the next Rourke?

Nah, he'll probably spend another year searching for his NFL dream that will never happen. But he gets paid for it,

Elgersma needs to come up here next year.

That said, I'd trade his rights for Dru.

A Dru Brown is a Dru Brown, but an Elgersma could be anything! He could even be a Dru Brown! You know how much we've wanted one of those!

I'm rolling with Elgersma over Dru at this point. Dru has shown two things in Ott. He can't stay healthy (some on bad hits, some on no hits) and he throws untimely interceptions. I know...neither were a problem when he was here and conveniently had the best Oline and stellar receiver running backs etc. I'm betting potential with Elgersma.

Given the sheer number of injuries at the QB position in the NFL this season if he had *any* shot at a roster (PR or otherwise) it likely would have already come.  I'll never begrudge *any* athlete who chooses to chase a dream or maximize their earning potential but (selfishly), hope he and his team read the writing on the wall sooner than later.
