2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season

From 3DN about TSN broadcasts this year....

"The CFL on TSN is taking a renewed approach to its broadcasts for 2025.

The network’s panel will travel to all nine stadiums over the course of the upcoming season, sources told 3DownNation, including visits to Regina and Montreal in Week 1. Kate Beirness is returning to host the panel with Henoc Muamba and Davis Sanchez filling the main roles alongside her.

Paul LaPolice will also frequently appear on the panel, though he will also perform colour commentary for one game per week. As previously reported, longtime panelist and Hall of Fame quarterback Matt Dunigan is no longer with the network.

As for Milt Stegall, who has been with the network since 2009, there is no timeline for his return after the death of his eldest son, Chase. The 20-year-old died unexpectedly at DePaul University on Monday where he was a member of the school’s soccer team.

“Our CFL on TSN family is absolutely devastated over Chase’s passing. If you know Milt, you know that his family is everything to him, and we cannot imagine the pain he is going through right now,” said producer Chris Edwards in a statement to 3DownNation. “Milt is our brother and we are going to give him our love and support him in any way we can, and in whatever way he needs.”

During a broadcast teeing up the 2025 season on Tuesday, TSN dedicated its coverage this year to Chase’s memory.

TSN plans to flesh out the panel by rotating in active players, though it doesn’t appear as though this will happen every week. Players will generally make panel appearances during bye weeks, though there may also be opportunities for in-studio appearances when players are in town to play the Argonauts or Tiger-Cats.

Friday Night Football, a longtime network staple, will have a brand new presentation featuring fresh animations, graphics, and music. One source called the scope of the production “bigger.”

The play-by-play personnel at the network has remained unchanged for 2025, featuring Rod Smith, Dustin Nielson, Marshall Ferguson, and occasionally Farhan Lalji. Colour commentary will be performed by Glen Suitor, Duane Forde, and LaPolice."

Honestly the main selling point of the CFL are the timing rules of the final 3 minutes.  And arguably the most boring part of any NFL game when a team with a one score lead can just bleed the clock un

I dont know...Canadian receiver who has put up two 500+ yard seasons with 5 td's...one in only 12 games....Not sure he wouldn't offer more than Corcoran...Cobb...and be nice depth...also a guy who has had made big explosion plays

Don't really see Cobb or Corcoran ever being that kind of guy...if you not trying to get better and find guys...what the hell are we doing?

Fact is, our Ni wr depth has been that bad for a long time. Corcoran has some limited use potential, woli was breaking down by the time big kev stepped up, and demski is always a struggle to stay healthy.

A few years back, we invested a lot in the draft at WR, we didn't do much with those guys and ended up not really putting in that investment again.

We've done a good job of re stocking NI depth at DB/Lber, but we need to get back in on DL/DE, WR and OL is always a restock position.

You could say our recent WR drafting record has us...Jaded?

Like I said. you guys are not wrong to be pining for Mayala....BUT has it really come to that? Like so many positions on our team, Walters had really done a poor job restocking the shelves. That damn O'Shea telling him not to acquire talent all the time.

walters doesnt go out scouting save for canada college guys.....thats on his staff....and even then....we keep literally nobody new the last few yrs other than due to an injury where we forced to....so cant toss that alll on Walters. And even then Osh has his nose right in there in who we target in draft and what he likes...and its pluggers and slugs that for most part will never crack a starting lineup.....

And yes...they give/gave Osh way too much say on player retention and also he picks the squad at end of day...and chose to keep washed up....aged out...and in a few instances...not good enough guys....yr after yr

We're navel gazing on the 35th roster spot when spots 1-30 are getting killed every week aside from our kickers and a couple DB's.

yeah across the board our talent is not top 3 or 4 in league.....million dollar question tho......who's to blame for it?   and why?

sad part a mere 4 ..5 yrs ago we were loaded top to bottom...but let many walk....kept many over their best before date hoping we could recapture the past with them, and do probably the worst job in the league in developing guys on the fly, so when it mattered most...they had experience and trust...that part of the problem is easy to pin on one guy and one guy only

Baloney...Walters definitely is very involved in NAT scouting and your argument that O'Shea has too much say in player retention is more telling about the quality of Walters job than O'Shea's. Talent level of any roster is 100% on the GM. That is not even debateable. GMs build the roster, and coaches coach the roster that is assembled. If Walters is listening to O'Shea too much then that is on him. It's his job to assemble the talent not Osh's. Bottom line.

Been my argument here for the past 2 years, but round and around we go. Everyone was willing to overlook the fact we are hemorraghing talent because MOS apparently likes Jake Thomas. Still way too many people here blaming roster usage for our record. It's not optimal to be sure but if we are going to have a 2 year conversation and calls for dismissal of anyone, it should be the GM and even that I don't agree with.

THATS what I said...Walters is involved in the National scouting...ie....Canadian draft

G.M's dont build the roster...they bring in the players but DONT tell HC who to cut/retain....if thats happening your in real trouble as a franchise. So how is it telling y=that Osh keeps guysyr after yr rather than replacing them...If it's tellung anything it's saying Osh isnt held accountable to a certain degree

Fact of the matter from HC up we been bumbling and stumbling and that combo has been a huge reason of our erosion and total lack of deoth and top line talent...and usually more times than not the HC is expunged before anyone.....or they clean house top to bottom....I think we need to change one of the pieces and see if that changes things for the better first....then go from there

I mean those pieces aren't going to make them better, but yea, we need to be way more active.

GMs don't build the roster, they just bring in the players. So..in your estimation we have all the OL/DL/receiving talent here to be tops in the division but MOS is refusing to play them? Do you know how highly unlikely that is?

I know you are exaggerating to make a point, but there is ample proof that O'Shea has been playing favourites to the detriment of the team. That said, there seems to be a dearth of talent on this edition and a good deal of that blame lies elsewhere. Plenty of blame- enough to go around.

Well we saw a marked improvement in the defence with a couple tweaks... not sure that the receivers in house are enough to drastically improve that group but might get a bit more with a shuffle somewhere

300 and 327 yards passing, 28 and 31 points, several explosive passing plays, is our defence really showing a marked improvement? The past two, we've been good for a quarter (Calgary) or a half (Toronto) and then seem to have issues.

Bomber loss aside, it was a ridiculously entertaining weekend for the CFL.  Four games decided by a total of nine points, all of them undecided until late in the fourth quarter. just the perfect mix of scrambly and dramatic.

liked seeing Dru Brown and Rourke playing clutch in a league that really needs the next generation of QBs to step up.  love this league.

What's it been, 12 seasons now of the Walters & Osh regime? At one time, we used to say that the Bombers needed continuity as we made too many GM & head coaching changes. Now, we've gone full circle & it seems that familairity breeds contempt. The Canadian Mafia has been together for too long. They've gone soft. Walters & Osh have lost their edge. Stupid personnel & coaching decisons the past 3 seasons have cost this team dearly. Time for a change before this team truly goes over a cliff losing games.

HARD TO SAY....A player me not fit someplace...but fit nice other places....we prime example of that..Maston...Taylor...T.Jones ...Griffin as example...all discarded into the scrap heap....we picked them up...Maston and Taylor were key to our cup rin victory in 2019....T.Jones tho not the best has replaced Biggie and has actually improved this yr somewhat...especially when playing with the other Jones....Griffin...been one of our best defenders 2 yrs running now

So to just be standing there wheels spinning and not even making an attempt just reeks of us thinking we good and the good ship Oshea is gonna magically turn around with minimal work done to it, And it's not...not this current group as we see it, and with the coaching so far this yr...it's just not

We are a coupe of key injuries god forbid of plummeting right to the bottom as we have zero depth behind anyone...well proven deth that is, and we not givibg guys reps....in games where it's a foregone conclusion we arent gonna win, or the odd one where we up by 3 scores....which is odd and rare now

didnt say that....but there are probably 3...4 guys who shouldn't be starting...and prob of that group a couple who shouldnt be on the roster. Also MOS cut adrift many guys last few yrs who out performed hold overs as well, younger guys with more athletic ability and nice skill sets ...just to run it back with what he is familiar with and had success...key word "had" yrs ago now.

Would they have been better....who knows...but wouldnt be worse...would be hungry to earn and ake their spot and all had up side...just like any star in league had when they first got their shot....

I dont think that Osh is the best evaluator of talent....it's quite obvious from his roster decisions alone and who gets majority of reps. He values some things moreso over actual talent...The roon and other vets will control the room and guys will fall in line....it's been like that forever in any football locker room...it's not a new concept we created after Osh was brought in

i not gonna mention names...and guys wont say it to the press...they will convey the usual narrative but there are players...current and past who have said this....and ys ...whether you wanna believe it or not some guys havn't came here for thatvery reason.....I'm not assuming this either....but like I said I will not say names

total complacency....too much grey area of who is actually in charge and makes the hard decisions....too much buddy buddy

And zero adapting and evolving....Osh still thinks his main guys and how to go about things is circa 2021....and we are eons from that era

Complacency can eventually lead to incompetence.   Fear that has happened here.......

In the end Walters traded Dru and In the end Walters didn’t pay Kenny. And in the end, Kyle will be a gm out east.

So your prediction is Walters decides to leave or does not get renewed after this year (contract is up)?

Yes. I think Walters moves on either way. O’Shea, I’m less sure of. I think there’s a chance he leaves also tho or does he actually have a contract. I feel Walters goes and O’Shea goes at the same time. Wade then hires the next GM who hires the coach and then Wade steps down and a new president is named. Mafia done.

I hope Osh decides to move on ....and he doesnt have the acumen for G.M.....not a attack on him, but some guys just dont have the make-up and or desire for such a position....He being one
