I’m gonna guess he didn’t actually tear his acl against Calgary cuz no way would he play again soon. Not sure he’d be walking honestly even. Like dude should be a pro wrestler cuz that’s crazy tough if he legit played on a torn acl and only reinjured it on the 2 point convert and not when running on the field. How do you even reinjure your torn acl. You really don’t. It’s torn or it isn’t.

You can partially tear a ligament, it doesn't have to be a full blown tear.  He came back with a brace hoping to mitigate any further damage but clearly that didn't happen.  He didn't re-injure himself on the 2 point convert either - it happened earlier in the game and he just gutted it out.  The 2 point convert was just a visible display of how hurt he was.

Yeah good thing this is a one time isolated incident...and we have never put guys on roster before who were clearly hurt and couldn't perform...or after a significant injury kept playing a player...or players....and thankfully we never did this to schoen before either...darn good thing

Oh..wait a minute......we have....repeatedly

Apparently the adults in our room lack a lot of...adult like traits

We are a .500 team right now with 2/3 of the season gone.  Best guess on the remaining schedule:

  • At Hamilton  loss (especially of Collaros is still out)
  • At Ottawa win
  • Hamilton at home loss
  • At Edmonton win
  • Saskatchewan at home loss (This is the 2nd last week of the season, could be a win if SK has a playoff spot wrapped up already)
  • Montreal at home win

Don't really see us finishing above .500 either.    Could be worse of Collaros is out long term.

At Ham loss

At Ott win

Home Ham win

At Edm loss

Home Sask win

Home MTL win

(All with a relatively healthy Collaros. If no Collaros, could lose out the season)

Without Collaros I have almost no hope we are in the playoffs. Streveler is not a starting quality QB. Anyone arguing differently is drinking Booch's Kool aid.

I’d like to know why the team dr/medical staff expected rehab without surgery to be good enough for Schoen to play again this season. I get rehab alone can work for an average joe, but it seems crazy to trust it for a guy who runs and gets hit for a living.

Are we seriously questioning the knowledge/integrity of our medical staff?

Do any of you guys have a hot clue how many athletes play through partially torn ACLs? Some even voluntarily have gotten them removed Eg. Marve.

It is a completely manageable injury with a brace.

Wow...regurgitation of what I said re Marve...and others earlier....kool aide aside...whatevet that means...he who likes to serve his personal brand of kool aide....Elway had none in left knee

But Schoen retore his...a freshly repaired one...no rehab on the 6 game is gonna fix that.  Partial torn and braced sure...u can manage...but you're playing damaged goods so why bother and delay actual recovery?

Put in a player who is 100 percent

Youde think our braintrust would have learned from 3 consecutive failures playing hurt damaged players...no?

Surely your kool aide is of similar flavor?

Also...manageable...and ideal/optimal are nowhere clear to be close

Id love to see Wilson get some time

Exactly. If he shits the bed, you release him or put him back to strictly short yardage. We got a glimpse of him in a real game at last years GC. Let’s see more even if he didn’t perform as well we hoped for at tc and preseason. I don’t think there is much to lose, it’s not like our QB cupboard is fully stocked.

In football?

Yeah...I know you are on this "no plsyer is 100 percent" kick ..but cmon now your just being foolish

And yeah.. there are a lot of guys still 100 percent and good majority other than the typical bumps..bruises and fatigue of a season who are as good as you can be

And really....why have an IR...1 game or 6 then? Any guy on it will say "yeah I can play" or "i will give it a try for the team"

And guys without having had surgery...let one retorn previous recent surgery

Anyone who thinks only Schoen was willing is dumber than I give a lot of yiu credit for being then

Why didnt we play Makonzo....Woods...Kramdi....Case...and others...?

Why Schoen...why this particular guy? A guy who missed a yr...then retore what just got fixed...and it wasnt partial...it was 100 percent torn...and seeing as we now shut him down...msy have made something worse...or else why not continue the lunacy? Answer me that.

Everyone is a starter ..as we told...so why risk further...or God forbid permanent damage on basically our marquee reciever?

2 reasons...desperation due to lousy roster

Or stupidity....take your pick

Same for multiple positions

Let us pray reverently that Elgersma gets homesick for Canada and signs here.

The concern lies not with the quarterback so much as with the OC and lack of talent around him.

My concern is with the QB who has always struggled in the passing game and seemingly has lost his running ability. Its also with the OC and lack of talent.

What's the odds that they move on from Strev next season?

I’ve been as big of a Strev supporter as there is on these forums, but if whatever’s still going on with his knee/lower body doesn’t recover I’d say the odds are pretty high.

Since coming back from the last injury he can’t seem to throw with any velocity, just using his shoulder to throw and doesn’t look like he can put anything into it when he plants.

we need to see what we have in Wilson, we are so afraid to put in untested players, that when we have no choice we have no idea how they will do. And the player himself is going in blind. Im not saying he should start, but we should have a pkg that we can put him in for. Especially if Strev isnt moving the ball, we cant afford to let him work it out

Same boat here... Love the guy, but he hasn't looked right in short yardage all season. Thought in Game 1 (week 2) vs BC he looked like a damn good QB. Since that time.... Woof.
