He was Calgary's X factor in their victories. Pressure Vernon Adams check, move him out of the pocket check, cover the receivers downfied because all Vernon Adams knows is to launch it as far as he can throw when he is pressured....nope Bridges not within 20 yards of the receiver he was running with moments ago because he stopped to see what was happening. He broke the cardinal rule of DBing several times, stuff you learn in Pop Warner, run with your receiver until the whistle blows. You can look back as a DB but the feet gotta keep moving. hopefully this will make the coaches realize now that just because a guy was here last yr...2...3 yrs....that maybe they aren't the best choise...and we see actual true TC competition finally BaconNBigBlue and TBURGESS 2

Pete Posted Thursday at 03:56 PM Report Posted Thursday at 03:56 PM The really good dbs we added started at training camp, and earned a spot.(0ther than ford) This year we chose Bridges cause he seemed the safe choice. With others they may have had some growing pains but youd youd also see some great plays showing promise. Bridges didn't , not sure why it took so long to figure out rebusrankin 1

Bonds hasn't stopped getting torched since the first Calgary game. We beat Toronto because for some reason they couldn't key in on Coxie vs Bonds or Vaval in the red zone. We only stopped that connection by pressure. Lucky they run plays for Ungerer, Mayala etc. Dinwiddie's a genius. Noeller 1

I don't think our secondary problems are personnel right now.

He got beat every single game. There was the thought process that because he had the INT’s early on he would be given sometime rope to hopefully get better but I remember saying to my girl friend at the game against Edmonton he was easily our worst DB but would probably have a long rope due to the two INT game early on in the season. I mean he was far from the only DB getting beat but he was never good in my opinion and definitely a weak link. voodoochylde 1

Yeah hopefully he gets a season of NFL coaching...and then we see him He is a Canadian School kid ..not a top 3 round guy...and has to learn the u.s game...so he is pretty low on the pecking order and any teams give a damn list..and will likely never play down there...so if he wants to actual play and have a career in football...he knows where his bread will be buttered wbbfan 1

Imo his intangibles are stand out in the us. Hard to find a qb with a good head on his shoulders at that level with strong talent. Maybe they feel like he’d be worth seeing how he looks after a year of coaching as he will likely get more out of it than most guys. A lot of QBs that sit pr don’t do much or get much of a shot. And don’t deal well with that reality. I think his not needing to adjust to the Canadian game up here so much as adjust to the game speed could give him an inside track after a year of pr coaching down south. And boy could we use hitting the lotto on a guy like him. 6 minutes ago, White Out said: we kept the wrong quarterback. Yep. Could’ve traded Zach for actual assets, kept brown, and signed an elite free agent for the price difference. Sickening. rebusrankin, Booch, BigBlueFanatic and 1 other 4
Nolby Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago 5 hours ago, White Out said: we kept the wrong quarterback. Good teams should see a decline in their elite players, Bighill released, Thomas should've been released, Zach was absolutely the wrong choice to keep over Brown. Dru is very mobile, far more athletic, great arm and sees the field well. Zack is lacking in comparison and Dru was so much younger, one of the bigger **** up from this franchise in a long time. Atomic Posted 4 hours ago Author Report Posted 4 hours ago 16 hours ago, Atomic said: Jets-Packers at 7 pm tonight, might get a look at both Elgersma and Pokey The Packers had no passing attack at all. Elgersma didn't get in until the final drive of the game and got the least playing time. 3/4 for 24 yards. He converted a 4th and 5 play with a nice pass but then they just let the clock run out to end the game. Pokey Wilson also only played the final drive of the game for the Jets. He ran a nice route and caught a 13 yard pass on 3rd and 7 for a first down. Honestly a pretty good showing for both players but neither one got much opportunity to play. They clearly started the night at the bottom of the depth chart. Noeller and wbbfan 2
rebusrankin Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago So what steps can the club take towards fixing this mess/rebuilding? One that comes to mind to me is giving Shay and Smith reps on D to allow them to develop. Noeller and wbbfan 1 1
