All things considered...

All in all...another disappointment, and there are several reasons for it again...constants if you may call them that and really easily solved...and many won't like hearing this and will blindly disagree, but it's easily fixed if Osh would pull his head partly out his arse. The onus this off-season is on Walters and his team to sign and bring in the talent...and also part ways with some guys...even if the coach disagrees. I cannot see Miller being happy, nor he wanting a major bedshitting at home next yr in the Cup...let alone not even getting to the Cup...

Thru necessity and not choice we have had to get younger and thats a plus...there are some solid pieces here now to go with keeping the right vets...and thats they key part of it...right vets. And by vet i mean a guy who's been here this yr and before

Lawler and Schoen..Strev...Wilson...Clercius...BO...Demski...Woli ..MCI...Wallace....Bryant...Randolph...Eli......WJ...Nichols...Bonds...Ford...Holm...Griffin...Kramdi...Kelly...Cole...Garbutt....Woods....Adams...Lawson...was on fence with Haba but he stepped up so deserves another shot......Ayers...Hubert..,,Samson...Chris Smith deserves another shot....Person....Qb Wilson....Hubert deserves another camp....I'd love to see Notree back....thats the core we need to focus on retaining....fill in around that...everyone not mentioned who wasn't primarily a ST guy should not be back...and saves up some serious SMS bucks...and makes us younger...hungrier....better

On the fence with ZC and his hefty contract....he will be another yr older and do we want another season of stats only to stumble in play-offs? It seems to be the trend and not a one off....

We have the guys to maintain a core like we seem to like to do...but a younger core....and we need to go that route...and this is totally up to our HC now to do the right thing(s)

We are set up for continued sustained success....but we need to bring the right players along for it...We need a stud interior dlineman to augment what we have...we need a legit difference maker linebacker...we need a real returner....we need another proven Canadian offensive lineman...we need a real punter....I see 5 dire needs...which isn't a lot in the grand scheme....and the biggest thing we need to do is construct the roster and the PR aa an entity that compliments and covers it....no more carrying wasted spots....or guys all yr that will never bump anyone off...we seem to do that a lot too

And the biggest key...we need to dress and play the best players we have...regardless of birth certificate and or position...and if that means moving pieces around and switching ratio spots...so be it

No need for spin unless you are Buck. The fans agree with Brady.

  • All this stuff is just excuses... fact is they opted to play an injured player rather than give a healthy player the chance. They need to own that decision as a coaching staff.

  • The truth is that Bighill, Jake Thomas, Brandon Alexander and Kolankowski are blocking the developmental path for better, younger (and cheaper) players. But all this has been said ad nauseum.

It really should...solid regular seasons mixed with an all time one. 2 grey cups in 3 years. That's pretty solid imo.

I don’t think he’s a legend, but he’s on his way. He’s a damned good coach. Top tier currently for sure.

or maybe he uses his personnel to it's best potential to the team...and success.....we have a damn good dept too.....but we dont use the people brought in to it's best....thats the key

I wasn't talking about us, only Toronto.  Not everything needs to go back to Oshea.

Fact is Toronto has a good system in place for finding players. Makes Dinwiddies job easier.

I think we're giving the personnel side a little too much credit of late.  Who have we brought in the past couple years that was a big miss?  All the guys we cut fade into the mist.

The talent level of the past couple camps has been pretty poor.  Can we not bring anyone in who is a threat to the QB off the snap?  Even watching the guys this year in the most unstructured format of preseason there's no one in camp who can fire off and cause problems.  The only guys we found are 300 pounds.  Where's the guy who is a threat when he has the ball?

We do really good at the draft and we've been doing pretty good at identifying guys off other teams of late.  The US side is severely lacking basically since 2021.  Our depth has been garbage.

The further I get away from the game, and the more into the offseason we get, I find myself getting more and more angry at O'Shea, our coaching staff, and our veterans. Changes need to be made. If this team runs it back and, God forbid, lose the fourth cup in a row at home, I don't know how I'll be able to watch the CFL again.

This is O'Shea's team. The buck stops with him. He makes the personnel decisions. How many other teams start 10 or 11 Canadians?

Bc did.

Toronto who didn't play 10 or 11 Canadians won the Grey Cup by fielding the best team they possibly could by playing 7 Canadians. We didn't.  Trying so hard... not.... to.... mention... Jake... Thomas.

Wasn’t the question really. Other teams started the same or more as we did.

10 Canadian starters: Dobson, Kolankowski, Neufeld, Oliveira, Demski, Wolitarski, Thomas, Lawson, Kramdi & Ford.

You can make the argument Jake shouldn’t be starting. Everyone else tho so really 9 starting calibre Canadians. Ppl can dislike certain guys but outside of Jake they all are starters.

thing is...you can start 2 other guys who are better than the Canadians...and if you cant find any...theres a big problem in your scouting and recruiting

Same amount of Americans and Canadians on the roster.

Who is an American guy they are holding back?

any dlineman not named Schmeckle/Thomas for one....and really...Kramdi played well...but is more effective in the box...not so much in open space or in coverage...could easily have used Griffin...Cole there fulltime and had Kramdi as a super sub....rotating freely as we had Ford at corner.

You can't tell me Schmeckel & Thomas are better than any American options that they have. Then there's Kolankowski at Center....

Know what,

MOS = Dave Ritchie

Dinwiddie = Cal Murphy

Dinwiddie right now is Mike Riley.  Young HC with two unlikely Grey Cups in three years.

Mike Reily was a good coach...smart....even keeled but also no none sense and ran the ship as should be...perform...or sit...age out....youth will jump over u.....and players loved him

Ryan Dinwiddie is 1 or 2 seasons from being the undisputed greatest Head Coach in Toronto Argonauts history. You could even make the argument now, but adding another 20ish wins basically makes it a moot point.

He's only been here 4 years.

It that really a high bar though?

I will make an even better argument.

(pause for effect)

Argos suck, will continue to suck and will always suck, not from the Grey Cup as you suggested, but from things that aren't aesthetically pleasing nor smell well.

Amen.

Happy Holidays!

If that happens, the true mettle of being a 100% lifelong hardcore Winnipeg Blue Bomber fan will be tested but won't be broken.

Always gotta cheer for the team and the league no matter what.

dude, if I remember right, you ragequit the game broadcast and thread during the @Montreal regular season finale.  You cursed the 2024 team as surefire semifinal losers.

Maybe it was you who provoked the shenanigans of the wind god? The gods hate a false prophet.

I made it thru 1987, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2009, 2010, and 2013.  I saw Tom Clements put up three points in 60 minutes at a home Western Final. I've eaten playoff 65-burgers, I've watched internally handled circuses and kneeldown shitshows and Jason Boltus.  I was there when Travis Lulay painted Swaggerville orange and when Marcus Crandell won his Grey Cup MOP award.  I tuned in for every game of the almost-good-enough Lapo squad that lost ten games by a combined thirty points.  We were a potential 14-4 team that played down to 4-14 that year.

I'm pretty sure I'm a lifer at this point too.

Demean, denigrate and disparage all you like. But being among the greatest head coaches in the history of the most successful and storied Canadian football team after a mere 4 years at the helm is no mean feat. If we win 8 games next year, he'll be tied with Leo Cahill for 3rd most wins.
