I can see if he was over 34..35....and totally a liability....He's not tho...and I wanna see if he is actually 100 percent healthy and has tossed the brace away.....and part of it I also think was whatever it was we were trying to do with the scheme there...Let him compete, and prove he top 2...3 again....if not we need to have more the cut-throat mentality and cur guys loose, as opposed to the old way of rewards for tender

Competition is good, but you fail to acknowledge the value of culture, which is essentially built on the knowledge and the experience gained by veteran players on how to prepare, play the game, and conduct themselves on and off the field.  Veteran players pass this knowledge down to the younger players.  O'Shea recognizes this as the key to success, based on 30 years of experience inside CFL locker rooms, and it appears he knows what he's doing.

For example players like Miller, Briggs and other long time vets. are the individuals that do the one on one teaching on ST, as the STC doesn't have enough hours in the day to answer un-asked questions and teach individuals that need to be brought up to speed quickly on the nuances of the CFL kicking game.

Without a well established ongoing culture, you end up with "Your Saskatchewan Roughriders!".

I don't hate BA being back. He is no longer the league's best S, but he is far from the worst. I don't see a problem at all with bringing him to TC and seeing what he's got left in the tank. MOS has shown that if a player isn't making the cut, even a veteran, and we have other options that he will make the change. Winston Rose found that out last year.

Yet he played a half injured Bighill in the most important game of the year.

Rider "cast-offs" have done quite well here. Recent ones being Hardrick, Jefferson, Collaros. They just can't evaluate talent.

Rider cast offs seem to do better everywhere else in recent years.

What does that have to do with anything I said? You are comparing apples and baseball bats. He also dressed an injured Schoen and half his lineup was banged up. Should we move on from all of them? Too late...we re-signed Schoen. A coach puts injured/banged up players in the lineup all the time in the playoffs because you hope they can play through the pain and the drop off is steep behind them. You new to the concept or something?

Oh yes, CFL Free Agent tracker shows Terry Williams "just" was extended on January 3rd - more than a month ago.

What is incorrect? Terry Williams just signed a contract extension this offseason to remain a BC Lion, so it's very unlikely that Grant will be targeted.

You just read into it what you wanted.

we have lots of culture guys still here...brought back a huge one in Strev....they can more than maintain things, and keep it growing...the loss of a few under-performing vets will not harm this one bit....the narrative that we have to keep em all from the inception is just not a factor

Pretty sure that Hardrick was on the limp, probably a few more. It's playoff time, if you are going to field only a team where a player is at full health you will be sitting most of your starters. As a coach, if a player says he can go and is medically cleared you play him because fully healthy does not really exist that time of year.

There is a whole lot of room between fully healthy and able to play at the necessary level....

yeah everyone is banged up....but 3 guys who shouldn't even been on the filed is bad....and then dressing a back-up in Mcrae...who also wasn't good enough to be effective as witnessed by not even seeing the field once, as a back-up to the 2 injured guys on offence...is even worse....especially when Demski was far from healthy too....but in that area of for playoff ball healthy enough...Bailey...Schoen..Biggie and McCrae had no business being on roster

Sure...however at what point they are is also very highly debateable. I will go with the coach's call on that because everyone outside of that dressing room is only talking out their ass. He saw how they were moving in practice. None of us did.

I’m sure Sergio feels fine after week one.
