THE 4-1-1

Kickoff: 3:30 p.m. Sunday; Mosaic Stadium, Regina
TV: TSN1, TSN4, RDS, ESPN2
Radio: CJOB
The forecast: A mix of sun and cloud. High -10C.
Vegas line: The Riders are favoured by 2.5 points.
Streaks: Winnipeg: 1L; Saskatchewan: 2W.
Home/Road: The Bombers are 4-5 on the road this year; the Riders are 6-3 at home.
Head to head, 2018: The Riders captured two of the three meetings this year, winning 31-23 in the Labour Day Classic in Regina and 32-27 a week later in Winnipeg in the Banjo Bowl. The Bombers countered with a 31-0 shutout on October 13th at Investors Group Field.
Playoff history: These two clubs last met in the playoffs in the 2007 Grey Cup, a game won 23-19 by the Riders. The Bombers last played in Regina in the playoffs on November 8, 1975, a 42-24 Saskatchewan victory in the West Semi-Final. Add it all up and the Bombers have lost seven straight playoff games to their arch-rivals dating back to a win here in Winnipeg in the 1965 West Semi-Final. The Riders hold an 11-9-1 advantage in the 20 playoff meetings between the two teams.

I believe we have the first regular season win and the first playoff win in their new stadium.

  • It's similar in some respects to IGF but very different in many ways. My (scattered) observations: I was on the East Side, wayyy up, third from last row. @trueBlue83 sat behind me. We seemed

I can see Jeffcoat being suspended for that hit

He won’t. If Willis didn’t he shouldn’t. Just a fine.

That’s a little harsh. If that happened to Nichols we would be up in arms too.

If it happened to Nichols it would be a penalty because he'd be in the pocket.

Your QB can't run around the field 60 yards and then complain about getting hit on that play.

A win is a win, I'm glad Streveler got some game time as a change of pace.

My only gripe was Demski being to cute and our weak return game. I think if we clean those things up we have a shot against Calgary.

I hate that Bridge is in concussion protocol, but one call or missed call doesn't make a game.

Sorry but Rider fans do this, they will never admit to getting out manned and run over.

Demski is a problem.

He's had some moments but unless he takes a pay cut Petermann is a cheaper version of him, and a better receiver.  We'd lose the running between the tackles piece but Demski is only great at that when he has a lot of room.

And two botched PI calls gave them a chance.  Can't complain.

Riders got away with a lot of holding, a brutal late hit out of bounds on Wolitarsky, and a free touchdown on two phantom PI's.

See, this is why their fans are dumb cuz they blame the refs for one missed call that didn't go their way when they don't get any holding calls against them.

It’s the hit to the head that is the issue. I’m sure all of us would be infuriated had that happened to Nichols.

Penalty no penalty who cares the game is over the right team won that's all I care about.

Sorry Rider fan, not everyday is your lucky day. Your luck ran out today. See you next year.

It was a shot to the head but Bridge did leave the pocket, rolled out wide left & then cut back into the middle into the teeth of the Bomber defense when he threw the ball. Bridge took that shot when he probably shouldn't have cut back inside. Not saying what Jeffcoat did was okay but that is the risk a qb takes when he does that.

Are you pretending you're a Bomber fan? I see your color is green. 🙄

I just am letting them know who's got bragging rights and what will happen if any of their nutjob fans come here complaining.

My comment was not directed at you keep at the gate and escort the trolls out of here.

Love the gutsy win, but I'm just saying the rule book specifically states the following:

A player shall be penalized for any act of Unnecessary Roughness to the passer, including but not limited to:

(b) Any blow to the neck or head of the passer,
(f) Contacting the passer if either the initial source of contact, or primary source of contact, is the defender's helmet.

Whether or not Bridge was inside the pocket is irrelevant, if it's a hit to the head, or even if the defender leads with their helmet - it's a penalty.

It's on page 57.

Let's quit talking about it. How about that Andrew Harris? That guy is unreal. How about the masterful job Nichols did managing the game today? How about that O-Line? Cheung, Bryant, Hardrick, Neufeld, etc. were all awesome and beastlike today. How about the clutch grabs by Dressler and Adams? How about the TD by Woli? How about that ST tackle by Bennett at the end to save a huge return? How about Money Medlock kicking the lights out? How about the huge game by Jackson Jeffcoat? How about the tough running by Streveler?

I know, I am just still hyped up and excited from ending the drought.  Never fun to see a QB in concussion protocol, but yes I agree with you.  Maybe they should have gotten 15 yards, but I suspect Bridge still throws a pick next play.

I'm not questioning the headshot. What I'm saying is that Bridge put himself at risk by cutting back inside. Jeffcoat will be fined but Bridge put himself at risk as well.

On the Bridge injury play I saw two riders blatantly hold two of our guys (Ogopogo) and zero calls.
