WEST DIVISION SEMI-FINAL | WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS (10-8) at SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS (12-6)

THE 4-1-1

Kickoff: 3:30 p.m. Sunday; Mosaic Stadium, Regina
TV: TSN1, TSN4, RDS, ESPN2
Radio: CJOB
The forecast: A mix of sun and cloud. High -10C.
Vegas line: The Riders are favoured by 2.5 points.
Streaks: Winnipeg: 1L; Saskatchewan: 2W.
Home/Road: The Bombers are 4-5 on the road this year; the Riders are 6-3 at home.
Head to head, 2018: The Riders captured two of the three meetings this year, winning 31-23 in the Labour Day Classic in Regina and 32-27 a week later in Winnipeg in the Banjo Bowl. The Bombers countered with a 31-0 shutout on October 13th at Investors Group Field.
Playoff history: These two clubs last met in the playoffs in the 2007 Grey Cup, a game won 23-19 by the Riders. The Bombers last played in Regina in the playoffs on November 8, 1975, a 42-24 Saskatchewan victory in the West Semi-Final. Add it all up and the Bombers have lost seven straight playoff games to their arch-rivals dating back to a win here in Winnipeg in the 1965 West Semi-Final. The Riders hold an 11-9-1 advantage in the 20 playoff meetings between the two teams.

I believe we have the first regular season win and the first playoff win in their new stadium.

  • It's similar in some respects to IGF but very different in many ways. My (scattered) observations: I was on the East Side, wayyy up, third from last row. @trueBlue83 sat behind me. We seemed

fumbles. The Bombers really haven't fumbled that much this season.

Int.... Nichols hasn't been throwing them last five games.

I suppose a long return by them, or if Thigpen busts a long run, could give them a  good chance.

Hope the field is ok, not slippery I mean. That can really change things.

I agree.  The weather is a great equalizer and makes it really tough to pass, especially when many of the players have limited experience in these temperatures and footing conditions.  Have to really secure the ball.  Fumbles are a big worry.  Special teams will be massive in these conditions.  Facing a running QB isn't necessarily the easiest thing on this field in this weather.  A lot of that will depend on how both offenses scheme.  I hope to hell we go run heavy, use all our weapons including Streveler.

I agree. Contain is going to be huge on 'Air Canada'

Gotta make him beat us with his arm and not his feet.

Jones has to be betting on an over confident Bombers’ squad.

I'd rather play against Collaros. A frail, immobile guy like that out shivering in the cold would be an easy target.

icy field, cold hands, cold ball.

Don't like it.

Maybe see a bit more of Streveler in this game.

At least the Bombers will get the running QB's from the opening snap and won't have to adjust mid game.

An important day for our ends.

It's  not a rivalry but a hatred.  Anyone who thinks it's all in fun has been living under a rock for years. I could never, ever cheer for the Riders.

It's hard to believe Drew Tate is dressed for this game.  Can't see him being able to do anything if he had to play.  The ultimate "cold QB."

I can't see any of the Lions qbs being back next season. They can't play any more awful than they are now. Hervey will clean house in the off season.

Delete wrong thread.

It annoys me that this is coming from Westwood who absolutely choked in the 2001 Grey Cup.

Guy was the king of excuses.  Every off-season he'd train with some kicking guru and have it all figured out and then he'd come in and hit 70% of his kicks again.

Troy Westwood annoyed me his entire career.

70% was a good year.
