Grey Cup: Calgary vs Toronto

I'm looking forward to a good game. I think these teams are pretty evenly matched at this point but expect the Stamps to win it.

But why does the "B" side champion go directly to the Grey Cup?

Envy? Of course. Here I sit, a Bomber fan in Toronto. Could be worse though. I could be a Stumps fan.

Did Dickenson not have a challenge left? Sure looked like an Argo pushed off the Calgary receiver on that jump ball. You have to challenge that if you have a challenge.

I think this win by Toronto puts the pressure squarely on the shoulders of O'Shea and Walters- they've had long enough to produce a team capable of making it to the Cup final.

If the Bombers lost a Grey Cup in the same fashion as Calgary did today, I would be insufferable for a decade.

2001, 2011 man it could be an awful long super duper negatron life if that was the case.

You might not have to worry about that for a decade :P

I think we all probably would

Bombers could be forgiven but the Stamps have seen this movie before and had the clearly "better" team. No excuses.

Remember when the Argos fired all of their staff right before FA and didn't bring in a new staff till late.... And we all laughed about how ****** they were.......

Don't know if y'all remember the highlights where BLM was doing the 'too easy' taunt after a TD.

How easy is it now?

Yup, just goes to show that you don't need years on building to win a championship if you have the right people/players.

As for Calgary, what a bunch of chokers.

Yeah each loss was like our 01 loss. But with a TON more smack talk from BLM. And soo much over soo little time.

Not on DD no. Hes not the arrogant jack @$$. He forced an awful pass into double coverage. He kept going back to the well. Thats not on DD.

Let's just pretend the Argos would have had to go through 2 of the Bombers/Riders/Esks/Stamps to get to the Grey Cup.  Wouldn't happen.

Or good enough to win more then 5 games in the regular season out of the west division.

Not  trying to take away from the argos. They are slayers of goliath today.

You can challenge PI.

Calgary used their challenge earlier in the game regardless.

Yes it is. Play it safe and kick the FG. Its incompetence to risk it all.  Basic coaching to avoid risks late in a game.

Goes to show you how quickly a team can turn it around if they know what they are doing and have an appropriate level of financial commitment from the organization. Same can be said about Saskatchewan, although they did fall a bit short.

And Bombers show what happens when you don't have people who know what they are doing  and do not have the financial will to be great from the organization. Now, to be fair, Bombers are not terrible anymore, but they are still not top tier. Would love it if Bombers, like Toronto,  became serious about winning a GC as the main priority, but not sure if they will ever be able to do that in the new reality of the CFL.

Well they beat the Riders and Stamps so why not...

Last year BLM wanted the ball in his hands at the end of the game.  This year he had that exact scenario  and look at the result.

i guess stupid didn't leave the province of Alberta.

Are you suggesting we fire ... oh never mind. ;)

Try a longer FG, with downs left to play, and give TO the ball with a minute ish left to play? no.
