Recommended Posts

Some good misdirection movement on O......
Nichols drilled on back to back plays, early....
Getting Andrew Harris involved.....always a good idea....
Nichols moving the ball with the ole curls and hooks.....
...but throws real bad end zone INT from the 10 yd line....
Bombers dominating TOP but score still 0-0..
Leggett picks off BLM...but is hit with IC call...
Hurl and Wild overrun Stamp short pass into 40 yd gain.....
Calgary gets it deep...but Messam drops screen pass..
FG has the Stamps up 3-0...
Bombers 3rd and 1 play by Lefavour snuffed out....
Both teams leaving points on the field....
Lankford has big missed FG return...but fumbles at end of it
Blue now down 3-0 in turnover battle.....
Hurl misses tackle on Messam short pass for bigger gain....
Stamps down to the 3 yd line.....but are stuffed twice at the goal-line...
3rd down pass incomplete!  But the Roc was lined up offside....
Blue hang in and make 2 more stops...
Stamps finally score on end around....the 6th attempt from the 2....
Too many key mistakes from the Bombers today..  9-0 Stamps..
0 points on offense in first 21 minutes....
Heath called for greasy PI....but gets INT on the very next play....
BLM missing a lot of his passes...at this point....
Stamp defender piggybacks Harris....somehow needed review to get the call....
Nichols hits JFG on a slant, defender misses tackle....for 20 yd Bomber TD...
Randell playing another pretty good game...so is Heath....
MLB Singleton for the Stamps....is a stud...
Dumb roughing penalty on Nichols...sets up 23 yd Medlock FG...
Bombers have forged into the lead......10-9 at the half...
No time out from MOS...to get a few more plays before half?
BLM still misfiring on some throws.....
Roc C. misses tackle on short pass.....long gain down the sideline...
...starting to test O'Shea's patience here.....
BLM misses in end zone.....Stamp FG makes 12-10
Hurl...couple of good plays...and a couple of missed tackles...
Stamps "depleted" DL getting good inside pressure on Nichols....
Nichols turns color blind and throws slant pass right into LB hands...
....27 yd INT return....Bombers 4th turnover.....Stamps 19-10...
Not often the Blue lose turnover battle this bad...and win..
Harris taking the load on O with his running and receiving....
BLM getting more time to throw it now...Stamps starting to take over....
Bovine proceeds to throw perfect end zone pass....right over the Roc...
....3 TD's against in 2 games.....really testing MOS's patience...
26-10.  This Roc may need to be dislodged.....
Medlock is punting the ball very well, so far this season.....
Stamps O ripping it up...at this point...
Bomber O dinking it down at this point...
Not sure that DB's are afraid of an O "going horizontal"
TOP completely turned around.....Bomber D on the field all day, now...
Nevis and Dung Man can ball inside.....
...have they sent out a search party for Westerman yet?
Does anyone have better depth than the Stamps?   Yet again....
Lankford looks like a car without steering wheel....on these returns....
Least amount of noise probably made....by 30,000 people.....
The crippled, beat up, etc. Calgary D has allowed 10 points....
Stamps O really is great at working the wide side of the field....
Heralded Bomber OL....allowing more big hits on Nichols...
Nichols overthrows Adams on long bomb.....
...then throws 3rd down pass to no one in particular....
5th Bomber turnover....and yes, those are boos coming down....
MOS, Lapo, and Hall.....to some extent....put the C in conservative...
Stamp receivers making tough catches and YAC....Blue guys, not so much..
Stands clearing out with 5 minutes to go.....as if there was hot sale at thrift store..
Outscored 22-0 in 2nd half.   Another egg laid in the IGF hen house.....
....or Bo's Personal Playground.....if you prefer....
Playing for the Win......kinda hard to tell tonight..
Praying for the Gin.....you bet.

Was having trouble deciding on that....or "bumper car"

The guy makes a terrific return and goes into the ditch at the end of it....I don't know if it was his 'steering wheel' or he was just 'bumping' around at the end of that play....I do know he wrecked and now we have to fix a few dents

Whats baffling is how we end up with Lankford out of all the Sask receiver recruits...

Our top scout was Sask's Dir of Player Personnel for the last six seasons...  I'm not thrilled with that... but you'd think that he'd be able to find receiver talent - its the only thing Sask really ever seemed to have.

Feel like we're stuck with Hurl because he's a Richie Hall project and now Craig Smith seems to have brought Lankford over...  ugh.

I'd suggest when Thorpe gets healthy give Lankford a shot at the receiving job and send Washington to the PR, in two games he's been pretty invisible and the purpose of another tall skinny receiver eludes me as Adams already provides that and the original intent was to add a physical receiver.

6'4 210lb - wouldn't say he's skinny

I'm not going to blame him for breaking off that route - just a mis-communication...  I thought his game against Sask was good - give him a few more

He's a self confessed "skinny".  See those arms?  Twigs.

Well Lankford at 6'0 175lbs isn't exactly the answer either then...

Kind of bewildered at the Gerrard Sheppard cut - they were so high on him last season and he's pretty big

Yah, I don't know if Lankford is the answer or not but as a player with some experience I think he deserves a shot.  They had some bulkier receivers in camp in the last two years but for some reason they've settled on Washington who is a duplicate of Adams and does not look like he will contribute the blocking help that the primary receivers could use.

Meh, I was not a Lankford fan when he was signed and nothing's changed...  his CFL experience is being a average receiver/returner who fumbles all the time.  Not sure why Oshea thought that would change.

If anything, I'd give Thomas Mayo another shot - he's the best REC recruit we've had in the Walters era.

This offense needs a spark. I didn't see a lot of wideouts getting open. Is it safe to assume Calgary is the Bomber's nemesis? I sensed a greater will to win, (as well as some fortuitous ball hawking) from the Stamps. JMHO, from a die-hard NFL fan.

yes.... Bombers can not beat Calgary. Stat is that the quarterback with most wins at IGF field is Bo levi mitchell, calgary QB.

Calgary team  expects to win every game, Bombers hope to win. Is how I see it.

A fair number of the people here at this site are not that happy with the receivers that have been recruited.

Probably someone better qualified to explain, will respond......

Be interesting to hear the rationalizations from MOS.... if Cartwright gets another start.
After watching Stamps receivers....am willing to run Thorpe in there and see what he can do.

What else can he do but rationalize? He's the head coach. These are his hand-picked pieces of the team. His challenge is to find a way to make it work and win a championship. All he has to do is make the playoffs and run the table once he does. Piece of cake, right? ^_^

now seems like at least twice there were problems between qb and receiver... that were obvious anyway.

last play of the game. receiver stops short turns in , pass sails by him deeo..... so bad throw, or receiver mistake ?

same on the int in the end zone, first I heard, bad throw, then I heard receiver mistkae.

guess unless you know the play that was called, you can't say which it was. Since we know that Nichols is a detail guy and a studier I'm going with receiver mistakes.

either way... not going to win with that stuff happening. Probably others that maybe were a bit harder to pick out.

bright spot.....offences struggling across the league so far. cept maybe Reilly.

Think some of the Americans that don't make it in the NFL, it's not talent and ability, its the playbook  part, that they don't do well at.  Got to figure there are a lot of guys from the states that got by on sheer athletic ability, and didn't bother hitting the playbook. Doesn't work there or here. Then add in some guys just maybe aren't that smart period. and the guys that can't control their emotions. does not work either. at least we don't have any of those.
