  • The CFL should wait until the Riders fork over the guaranteed money...then retire the Grey Cup.

  • Now if they could bump the season up a month and have this fan fare right before the season starts would make more sense to me.

Who the **** wants to go to Regina ever, let alone in March?

It's going to be that CFL combine is going to be there Dunk wrote about it a couple weeks ago.

I'd actually be very interested in the combine this year.... Can't remember the last time the Bombers had 2 top 5 picks (assuming we keep both)... I believe that's how it works:

1. Wpg (via Tor)
2. Sask
3. BC (via Mlt)
4. Hamilton
5. Winnipeg
6-9 TBD

EDIT: I lied...I can remember... it was 2011 when we took Muamba (1) and then went off the board to take can't miss prospect Jade Ettiene (4)...

Are we picking 6th?  IIRC, only the last 2 teams standing have their spot determined by playoffs, meaning that Ottawa or Edmonton will pick 5th (since they had less points than us) & the winner of that game will end up with 8 or 9.

You guys aren't guaranteed 5th.

Ah Jade, didn't Lapo push for him?

I know Terrence Edwards did...he was a HUGE fan of JE at the CIS level...

Hamilton should get the GC before the Riders.

Say what you will about Jade, but in the grand scheme of things technically we traded him for the 2017 first overall pick.

I read somewhere its going to be televised. dont think a GC announcement would be televised. then again what major announcement could it be?

Thought it would be something exciting like no expansion fee for 10th team. Something to get us out of the 9's.

Failing that MOS penalized for kicking a 61 yarder.

The CFL will move their head office to Regina and put Chris Jones in charge to run the league as he sees fit, all to please the World's greatest fans.

It's not a Grey Cup announcement...so says Glenn Suiter

I read on Twitter that the announcement is about Regina finally getting a CFL team...

Been deeleted..

Ha! That's a good one!

I have a very reliable CFL source that has told me that this has nothing to do with the Grey Cup or combine. I have it on good authority that the CFL has adopted a relegation system similar to the ones seen in European soccer. Regina and Toronto will be relegated to the CIS for next year, and will be replaced by Laval and the University of Saskatchewan. Apparently, the CFL governors were unanimous in there support of keeping the competitive level of the league at it's highest. Welcome Huskies and Rouge et Or!!!

According to sports radio out in Calgary this announcement is huge for the CFL. They commented that they were told by CFL PR that this is going to be big announcement for the fans of the game.

Ok I am now excited!

Something to do with the LGBTQ stuff. Orridge on Twitter has been going on about something to do with the LGBTQ community.

I wondered if it was that...basically said that there's a CFL sanctioned LGBTQ2 party during GC Week in Toronto....that was talked about this morning. Is that what the major announcement is/was??  It's cool and all, and good for the league, but doesn't really seem like THAT big a deal...

That isn't the announcement.

I had heard that it was to announce the CFL Combine is moving to Regina (which it is) but this seems more like an announcement for the league, not the city so I'm curious.

I wouldn't consider it to be important enough to have a possibly televised PC for it tho.

Yep, as Mike alluded to, it's gotta be something real big......curiouser and curiouser....
