  1. I'm sure a big chunk of those fans are driving in from Calgary for the game. Considering it's only half Stampeder fans at McMahon for games against the Riders, not even a chance. Obviously some, but not many. That's total bullshit. That's why I hate & totally disrespect the Rider fanbase when they post total garbage like this. The Stamps have 24,000 season tickets in a 35.000 seat stadium. So how do nearly 20,000 Rider fans get in? Most of the fans there cheering for the Riders are drunken douchebags. Give me a frigging break. It's actually pretty basic Saskatchewan math... There's 30,000 people at a game... 3,000 are Rider fans... 50/50 split... not sure what's so hard to understand here?
  2. We lose this week and we are going 2-16 or something nasty. We win and we are right back in it. Personally have my doubts, but I'll be there cheering like always. I still think the Riders will win at least 3 or 4 games... 6-12 at best... 2015 Riders >>>>> 2013 Bombers who (somehow??) won 3 games...
  3. Basically. Also strengths and weaknesses. Better vs run or pass type stuff, or a specific role. But clearly for most guys if you can limit their snaps a bit you're going to get better production from them when they are in the game and have guys relatively fresh in the 4th quarter in terms of DL. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find any DL playing more than about 3/4 snaps on either side of the border nowadays, you'd be looking at JJ Watt and guys in that echelon. There are no other guys in that echelon right now...
  4. Have you looked at the rosters? Thomas is in the top half of NI DL who are playing. Obviously he's not an every down guy and would only ever play that role if 2-3 injuries happened in game, so basically never. But for 25 snaps a game he's a very good player. In my defense I didn't say Thomas should be a starter now... I asked if anyone thinks he could progress into a starter over the next year or so... I sure would like to see 2 starting Canadians on the DL...
  5. I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet... this obviously doesn't apply to all situations... but the point is there...
  6. Which is a handful of boneheaded plays by players in almost half a season. On the whole special teams have been average to good. Take away a handful of bad kicks by Hajrullahu and Stoudermire being a dummy and they are good. Should we get a punter or be patient with Hajrullahu? I think it would be a great idea to bring in a punter and let Lirim stick to FGs... only if he's Canadian though... no use in DI-ing a guy just to punt...
  7. Has anyone else noticed a nice progression from Jake Thomas?... Seems he makes some nice plays when given the opportunity... I'm wondering if he might turn out to be a starter on the D-line... this is his 4th year in the league and he's still shy of 25 years old... I'd love to see him develop into a starter by next year...
  8. "he's probably just cramping up, those big guys lose a lot of water on these hot nights" - Dr Bearpant's professional opinion August 14, 2015... from his viewpoint in section 203...
  9. Do they believe Greaves has a legitimate shot at becoming a RT or is he purely an emergency filler? My first choice would be to see what Lewis can do... but I'd also be interested to see if we have a NI Greaves/Neufeld that can actually play RT...
  10. Hard to beat someone 3 times. These last few years, not to be rude, the riders have had a better team and have had the advantage. If there was a year for you guys to sweep, its this year. We'll know this Saturday where our season is heading. Another dismal performance against the Stamps and I'd say the bombers sweep is a definite possibility. The bombers are a better team right now, but as I said before, with out Drew it makes it a lot tighter Most will agree that the Bombers are better than the Riders right now... but there's something about (Mary) that Labour Day game... most will agree the 2011 Bomber were much better and look what happened... there's no question the 2001 Bomber were miles ahead and the Bomber just barely squeaked that one out... doesn't matter what the records are, recent history tells us the Riders are the favourite in the LDC... for now... Of course, there always be first for something. Who knows if that 3-wins trend for the Bombers-Riders will end this year. But I'm very optimistic that the Bombers will do a payback from the 0-3 beating they got from the Riders last year. I have no doubt we CAN win that game... but until recent history starts to reverse, I would call the Riders the favourites in this game... no matter the records
  11. Will I be the first one to break the news?? http://www.stampeders.com/article/stamps-release-simmons Stamps release Simmons
  12. Ultimately it will come down to what happens at the end of the season... if Hammy can get it done this year we'll all say "well they had the right to be confident".... if they falter like 2011 Swaggerville everyone will be lining up to rub it in their faces...

  14. Wouldn't mind seeing some combination of Simmons, Bass, and Randle playing together... Simmons played MLB in Ottawa?
  15. Bellefeuille probably ordered Marve to stay in the pocket in the second half, and it did affect his play. Our defence played better in the second half but the offence compensated for that by playing worse. Still, had Brohm been in there, it would have been a worse beating than we got against Edmonton. or... maybe but just a crazy idea here... toronto's dc made adjustments that took away stuff for marve? And that could not have been foreseen and compensated for? Marcel is supposed to be a mind reader and just know what toronto is going to change after half?! Maybe he did make adjustments later into the second or third and they didnt work? I get that you're an unabashed homer... but are you actually suggesting our OC has to be a "mind reader" to make successful half time adjustments... I guess Casey Creehan (who we all know and love ) must be a mind reader then?
  16. Unfortunate news... hate seeing superstars gone for the season...
  17. I feel like the riders... going 0-4 the last 4 weeks... gotta run the table now... Bakhari Grant
  18. I have to agree... it's hard (nearly impossible) to interpret the mood of the team from watching live or on tv but it seemed evident that every game Brohm came into the entire team just seemed to fall back a step... especially in the Edm and first Ham game... I think the guys will rally behind Marve...
  19. You're exactly right... and that's what leads me to believe there isn't a huge discrepancy in an o-line coach when it comes to coaching up the fundamentals.... I would suspect most o-line coaches know how to teach fundamentals... it's more a matter of system and that points to the OC.... DelMonaco with Dickensen is going to be a lot more successful that DelMonaco with Crowton/Bellefiuelle... and maybe Wylie is only slightly better than DelMonaco in that role... is/should Wylie be more involved in system and game planning?
  20. Yes you're correct, he did also say that... I think most people believe Marve will start based on the fact that in the past O'Shea has immediately come out and said Brohm will be the starter... and this time he said, we'll wait to make that announcement... or something to that effect...
  21. This makes no sense. What difference does it make where your QB's came from? I care more about how they play. McManus also did nothing as a Blue Bomber and had a hall of fame career as a "castoff" playing for other teams. Kind of kills your whole idea, doesn't it? This argument has been tried many times... some people just conveniently forget Calvillo was a "cast-off"... as was Damon Allen, several times... and Matt Dunnigan... and Marve looks like he has some serious potential... which team was he cast off from again?
  22. Bauming said practice starts at noon...
