  1. He is listed at 6'2 294 lbs That's what I thought.... but size doesn't necessarily mean he can play NT... there's a huge difference btwn playing DT in a 4-3 and NT in a 3-4... That being said, I have no idea if Collins has experience at NT...
  2. definitely... even at the game, as it happened, I thought it was the right call... it wasn't until I saw the replay on TSN (they didn't show it on the jumbotron) that I questioned it...
  3. If we were a little bigger up front, and better at keeping linemen off our linebackers, I'd not be against the idea of running a 3-4 .. but as it is, we had trouble controlling gaps when we went to a 5-2 in obvious running situations. We simply don't have the bodies .. Turner at end is interesting... he's down a little bit in size this year too... but the biggest problem is we don't have a true NT in that system...
  4. Kito may be getting a call. And January and/or Morley
  5. I'd much rather the utility guy be someone who can snap the ball when none of our other OL have that experience. But what happens if a tackle gets hurt in game... I don't think Goossen, Greaves, or Chungh have ever player tackle...
  6. I think as coaches and players start to adjust we'll start to see 2 pointers on a more consistent basis... it just takes time for things like this to really sink in...
  7. Seeing the replay on TSN it sure looked like he wasn't in.. but as someone already mentioned, it really is a moot point right now...
  8. The only thing I heard recently that kinda irked me was on Sports Centre during Bomber/Riders highlights, the broadcaster said "gotta feel for the Rider fans" when Durant got hurt... that really annoyed me... I feel bad for Durant and his team mates, even the coaching staff to an extent... but I will never, ever, have an ounce of sympathy for that self-important fan base...
  9. He's Canadian... so because he's not Henoc, he must not be any good... but I agree that he would be better served as a rotational player... he hasn't been great this year, but I also don't think he's been particularly terrible either...
  10. This definitely wasn't a "we're a championship team" victory... but wins while working out the problem are always better...
  11. I thought both Randle and Bass were very good last night... we desperately need some solid lb play and we're starting to see it on the outside... still not convinced on Hurl though
  12. I wouldn't say "pissed" but definitely a little annoyed... I work in Portage (live in Winnipeg) so I have an hour drive home... luckily I have some flexibility at work and I'm just planning to leave early today... but I can see how that would affect some people a lot more... I expect the crowd to look quite empty at kick off tonight...
  13. I feel a little better now that Ottawa has the biggest blow out loss of the season... but the score doesn't look as bad starting with a 46 instead of a 52...
  14. I think Peach was signed by Walters.. after Mack was fired
  15. Sequence of events... 1. Willy gets hit 2. leaves the game with suspected concussion 3. goes through concussion protocol... passes all tests 4. is examined by team of doctors... including the aforementioned Dr MacDonald 5. Rests the weekend... no symptoms occur 6. practices for 3 days... no symptoms occur 7. Has now had 7 days off since the hit... with no symptoms 8. Starts game tomorrow night Am I missing the reason why he shouldn't be playing??
  16. Knowing Kevin Glenn, I have absolutely no faith that we actually win in 2007 with him at the helm. Revisionist history. I remember the 2007 season clearly, and if Glenn doesn't have his arm broken, we kill the Riders with our defense alone. Hell, they came within 4 points of winning the damn thing with Dinwiddie, and that included an "interception" that actually skipped off the turf and wasn't overturned because no replay yet... Could have .. should have .. would have .. doesn't matter. "Close" only counts with horseshoes and hand grenades. I believe the point is "close with our backup qb making his first ever start when he had 4 turnovers on rookie mistakes" Obviously they didn't win, but they were missing a pretty significant piece in that game I think I still lay awake at night every now and then thinking about the 2001 and 2007 Grey Cups...
  17. Irving isn't even doing things the way he was last year at this point. His level of coverage has dropped off significantly. Bob is still great at PBP (IMO)... but as far as reporting, I think he has basically packed it in...
  18. Has it been reported he was unconscious and concussed? No... except by all the concussion experts on social media and this forum
  19. Probably for the same reason there are any supplemental drafts at all - a guy wants to get a job in the CFL and his chances greatly improve if he's declared a NI and he didn't get his supporting documentation in in time for the most recent draft and he doesn't want to wait a year for the next draft. Having two is an oddity, but the reasons are probably exactly the same as when there is one. He missed the draft, then he missed the supplemental draft. My early scouting report: he misses things. Makes sense... you'd think if a guy misses the draft AND the supplemental draft he'd be SOL till next year... also thanks for not pointing out my horrifying grammar error
  20. I've never really been in the pro-Marve camp... but I do think that Marve is the better option coming off the bench... it throws a wrench into the other team's game plan and injects some energy and enthusiasm to his teammates...
  21. good thing...that would be pretty boring to watch...
  22. the question I had... why is there 2 supplemental drafts??
  23. I'm not sure where this idea that our DTs are "too small" started... most teams DTs are around 6'1-6'4 and around 290-300 lbs... obviously there's a few exceptions... Anderson is 6'3 297 and Collins is 6'2 294... however, I did notice that Turner is playing at 266 lbs this year (still 6'2, that hasn't changed for some reason )... which is surprising since I thought he was normally in the 280-285 range... anyways, point is, I don't think our DTs are too small...
  24. Everyone is playing zone so far this year in their base defense. It's pretty much impossible to play the man/match coverages when you can't run receivers into "checkpoints" downfield and toss them off their routes without it being called a penalty. The Bombers problem is in their front. Agreed. We are getting almost zero pressure on the QB's. The main reason why Hamilton dominated Willy (after that first drive) and then Brohm was that they dominated in the pass rush and residually controlled the run game with that pressure and the score. Until we get some consistent pressure we could have Roy Bennett, Rod Hill, James Jefferson, and Vince Phason back there and we'd still look silly. So far, on defense, IMO the biggest disappointment has been Westerman. Has he even made a tackle yet? Is he even playing? I don't even see him when the bombers D is on the field. well he did have a sack and a forced fumble (which I don't remember) last game according to CFL.ca... and tackles aren't exactly a measure of DE effectiveness... while I agree he has been a little under-whelming, I wouldn't say disappointing... but what, exactly, were you expecting from him in his first 2 CFL games?
