I know Brown was most likely talking with Buck and getting the low down (and I do mean LOW down) on what the picture is like in saskabush...I don't imagine Pierce would give Brown a glowing picture of what he could/should expect in riderland....Wouldn't have to look much past the gm over there and that would be enough to give Brown a picture of futility....I can see Dru giving them short shrift and a 'see ya' and look for more promising opportunities

I have just taken a look at the latest dung, turd down is serving up....My gawd I have never seen so much arse kissin' of the rider brand and fan base, in a very long time.... Apparently Corey Mace is the second coming and awaiting his crown from King Charles any day now....He has been endorsed by everyone in the league 'apparently' and he'll definitely be taking his greatness to the Cup next year......Geez the articles over there are getting sickening and the pandering is way over the top...Maybe it's because it's offseason and they have nothing else to fill their pages with except this drivel...We never got this much ink even with our two Cups in a row wins....Till the guy actually wins something as a headcoach it's all just so much ballywho and bull$hit

I will always view the last Cup game as a 'we beat ourselves' with poor decisions, and roster wise and 'not up to par' play calling loss...IF we had played up to our potential we would have notched our 13th Cup win....and Faj would still be the same qb. we all know he is

With the slim pickens IF Brown moves on, we better have plan B ....I think if Dru decides he has a better opportunity and cash with another club all the more power to him....Having said that I would hope we make every effort to keep him because his spot on the club is going to be tough to fill.....Streve being available might be a good direction to go but I hear he's been picked up lately in the states and if he's going to go on the 'maybe sign me' circuit in the nfl, he may not be an option

Regardless of where Dru Brown signs next season (I hope it's the CFL and Winnipeg) how much will he be paid?
There's much speculation there will be multiple bids for his very obvious talent.
Based on this list of top 15 CFL QBs in 2023, where do folks see Brown, a first-year starter, in 2024?
https://3downnation.com/2023/04/17/the-cfls-15-highest-paid-quarterbacks-for-2023-season/
If it were not for the fact that Cornelius is guaranteed 50% of his salary in 2024 - I could see Elks going hard after Brown and just cutting Cornelius altogether.AND just be a backup to Ford....Brown may as well stay here ??

CFL needs to drug test before coaching interviews.
Yeah.....the interviewer and the candidate.......

Just read some of the crap on the hiring in saskabush......Apparently what impressed and put the hiring of Mace over the top was his statement ....'look I just want this fu&kin job'....Now I've been to a few job interviews in my time and have given a few....A person coming in the door and stating right off the bat ' 'look ...I just want this friggin job' would not impress the hell out of me and probably I would have put his/her application into file 13....Not in Regina though....Seems they are impressed really easy over there in riderland and do a thorough job with their hiring.......My gawd Buck....you're so lucky you walked away from that garbage

Dumpster fire...tire fire...it all fits....The fan base there has to be the most delusional, uninformed and sheep like in the league...Even when presented with facts about the Buck rejection of their position , they try to twist into a message that disparages Buck.....I hope Corey Mace has really thought about his future there......After hearing he was second best ,the welcoming he expected just had cold water thrown all over it
-
I just grimace even thinking of Buck in green AND dragging Brown along with him, standing on their sidelines....Selfish....yup....I'm a Bomber fan first and only want what's best for the club....Buck will have his day ...I'm just glad it wasn't with that turdy outfit

When it's all said and done....and it appears to be the case, Buck dodged a bullet by either passing it up orrrr being runner up....Who the hell wants to go to that mess....AND IF it's true Bombers added a little incentive for him to stay here , all the better...O'Daisy is skating on thin ice over there himself...and Buck would have been skating along with him....Nothing like continuity for the club AND we have a lot of work to do to get us back to the promised land....Pierce will and can get us there
I beileve he's the heir apparent when Osh decides to pull the pin ....You just never know when Mike O might/will pull the pin...CFL moves in strange ways sometimes

Love this idea.
This actually grows the game because fans (new or existing) can reasonably get to Lions games, unlike the Atlantic game which leads to nothing.
I would consider going if the Bombers were playing, that's for sure.
I live just up the road.... might go and mulling it over but would have luv'd it if the Bombers were coming ....Why the damned Redblacks????

If Buck goes to Regina Spit Spit then it would be good for Brown to follow him. He'd be the QB with the most experience in Buck's offence.
Not going to help Buck much when your suggested qb. is flat on his ass most of the time because of a porous O Line....Something I hope Buck is mulling over carefully IF he decides to sign on there....Big uphill for anyone signing there

If you want to attribute 5% of the blame to roster managment....OK...that would be about right.
So you are finally admitting that roster management was a contributing factor to our Cup loss.....Well that's a start ....I think the percentage is a lot higher BUT I'll accept that....I would like to say that 'contributing factor 'could have been avoided and was the difference in a Cup win and a Cup loss....Also it should never have occurred in a game of that importance....

Remains to be seen if he'll adapt or not.
Either way, there is no way he would say anything else publicly other than full support for the guys on the team.
Yup.....loyal to a fault....you can only hope that fault doesn't turn into a chasm

Can't ever see Buck going to work for a weak gm, who according to a lot of green fans should have been turfed along with Dickie boy...Hardly a situtation I would want to go/get into considering what we have in the Peg.....BUT his choice and he is one of the finalists....Mace seems the more likely candidate as defensive minded is more what riders should be seeking....
-
Right on Booch.....Doug Brown was quoted as saying if you as a team are not evolving and changing you are stagnant....Stagnation means you will fall by the wayside ...I don't like that scenario and although continuity has it's advantage....you have to be continuing with younger and better in some instances....Football 101

I'm sorry but our roster for the Grey Cup was a clusterfuck.
Exactly ....handing yourself a handicap by playing 2 injured players made NO sense ....and was nonsense

It came from Justin Dunk, originally.
That said, I feel like Buck isn't even O'Days first choice. So we'll see if Buck is even given the choice to accept or refuse.
Yeah ...whatever happened to smiley Burris as their top dog....After all the guy now has nfl pedigree

The same could have been said about Collaros at the end of the 2017 season before the Ti-Cats traded him to Sask., most people thought he was on the decline and already washed up. He has cracks but has managed to patch himself back together mentally and physically and play at a high level multiple times over his career.
But as you get older Fatty...it gets harder and harder every year to patch those cracks (you should know that) One day you're going to hit the wall....Hope it's not next year as far as Zack is concerned
-
For cripes sake ....has anyone forgotten who Buck and the other defectors would be working for...That would be O'Daisie who has been the author of Regina's last few years of futility....Can't see any of the guys mentioned wanting to go down that road BUT money talks ...We'll see

Please compare stat lines between the first two Grey Cup wins and the next two losses. Virtually identical. We will not be keeping Brown unless no one wants him to compete as their starter. We need to be realistic.
Then watch Brown become a star somewhere else...(zacks words that he will be one) while Collaros game goes into natural decline

Brock sure had a gun for an arm....Getting the ball the length of the field was a piece of cake....it was the receivers who let him down on a lot of occasions....Wasn't too happy with Dieter when he moved on and his comment about the Peg was bull$hit......'you can only go to the zoo so many times in Winnipeg'... intimating that's all there was to do ...Liked him as a qb. but let's say the bridge he burnt here hurt a lot of fans.....Anyway ...a loooooong time ago
