The plan of hoping and praying that Schoen can make a miracle return to improve our WR room seems sadly likely.

Regarding Schoen...sometimes you have to face reality and move on.... Letting Lawler go still burns my ass...Tachinsky sounds a little desperate....I was never a big fan of 'quarterbacking to receiver' conversions...but what the hell, when you're scrambling....Fredrickson kid sounds like he could be a find ...I'll reserve my further comments on this kid, until I see him play, and when the real bullets start flying...So far some of our new recruits sound like there's some promise.....but can they get us to the promised land??There sure has been pathetic tc coverage AGAIN this year ...ho hum and humdrum I'd say....Preseason around the corner....I'm hoping those games will give us more in depth than tc gave us

I had his number but I dropped my phone.

Yeah ....he certainly earned the handle 'Incompleterson'....Receiving dept. looks a little thin...especially if we lose anyone to injury AND the years have caught up with Demski...maybe we should start beating the bushes and keep the rolodex handy

Just gonna say this... I was considering removing my last post but decided to stand by it. I have a feeling I may have earned a trip to the Principal's Office.

Was down that road a few times myself lol......being straight up with some people usually gets you there....Mikes a big boy...he should be able to roll with the punches....if not c'est la vie'''Like your take on tc and the reporting ....everyone should be heard IF the reporting has VALUE...Yeah looking at you Sask infiltrators, who give us a sham unauthentic take

  4. These changes are 'experimental' at best...Only implementing them and a close examination of how things progressed or regressed will give the true picture of success or failure....I'm sure after the 27' season, changes can be made yet again ...The changes that are going to be under scrutiny and deemed to be 'failing' will either be altered or discarded ...Seems to me we will be entering a new phase in CFL operations ..Successful or not fans will have to get used to adjusting to these changes ....I've been around the league for a long time and found that 'major change' is very hard to accept for some.... I'm predicting this may very will be a 'make it' or 'break it' for the league.... time will tell...I just hope to hell the powers that be no what they're doing

  5. The night mare, regarding the early start changes for gm's, are going to be the undoing of some of the changes..The cfl/nfl draft days not jiving are a big problem and can see teams rebelling when draft pics are left in limbo ....As was mentioned, going up against nhl/mlb franchises are not going to give us the gate success we're hoping for or the type of notoriety we need....I see these changes being reviewed very quickly by the league after their inception......

  6. I agree with the opinion that true professionals who play the game because they love it, besides getting paid well for it, always give 100 percent ...Deep down they're the backbone of the league...However there are guys ...and I know this for sure, take plays off...Very few can ever afford to go down that road, but there are some that can get away with it, because they are VERY GOOD at what they do....Will that ever affect a game to the point of a win or loss??We'll see how this new playoff structure works ....Circumstances can change with any club...especially when the injury bug rolls around ....When incentive to win is also diminished because of a clubs standing toward the end of the season, we could end up with a few 'yawners'

The only sorta issue is the weather is all over the place. It literally snowed last night here. Melted quick but it snowed and it’s still chilly at night and during the day. But maybe it’s better than late November but not really.

I doubt weather was a determining factor for these changes as you pointed out...It's really about revenue but how many fans are going to show up to meaningless games ....when nothing is left to gain. so in turn the club proceeds to give a half-hearted effort... Fans will get turned off affecting the numbers at the gate...This will be closely watched to see how much revenue is actually gained.....We shall see

  8. Really like the looks of this Pavia kid...You can tell this guy has the goods to make the grade wherever he ends up...He's got that spunk and talent that'll make him a winner... Seems he's got a chip on his shoulder after the NFL draft didn't go his way...I sure wouldn't mind trying to turn that chip into blue chip Bomber stock..Dreamin' I know but never say never I always say,,,,

  9. All I can say is I hope the CFL scribes keep rating as an 'also ran' because I know we'll surprise the hell out of a few of them....These kinds of positionings and ratings this early, when a serious shot hasn't even been fired, amuse the heck out of me...We definitely had an excellent fa and I believe some of our off season signings are going to come through for us....I also believe quarterbacking will be the deciding factor about our success one way or the other...TC should tell us a lot and is certainly going to give us a better picture...In any case we are going to put a scare into some of the 'so called front runners' and could even give the top spot a run ourselves in the west.....We shall see

Nasty Nate’s real name wasn’t even Nate. That was and perhaps still is a term used to describe a portion of the population in Canada and more so downtown Winnipeg. Nasty Nates. I didn’t make it up.

His name is/was Morris and he had a book store on Osborne I believe...He sure made the rounds on all of the CFL sites and got booted from a few of them...He had a penchant of rubbing people the wrong way...His use of the word 'vermin' to describe some people irked a few...Sure backed the bluengold ...one of his good attributes....He was certainly a 'legend in his own mind'

It wasn't about work visas. The CFL's roster rules are illegal in the US. No business in the USA can have rules that reserve roster / staff spots for foreigners.

    -- a semi-related story --

"That's the league with a Canadian quota?" he asked. I told him yes, he was right.

"Doesn't work like that down in the States, only the best play," he said.

What I wanted to say was "I hear that's how the Border Patrol works too," but I did not say that.

I think you avoided a visit from ICE

Seriously, what happened to Ward? He was that good few years ago. Did he got injured and never fully recovered from it?

Seems his confidence level dropped and a few shanks will do that....I think he's still a competent kicker but with all of this global kicking talent spilling into the market, you better be on your game ...plus

  13. Finally the kid made the right move and we'll get to see first hand what he's got and what we seen when we drafted him.....I hope he works out .....nice to see another Canadian qb get talked about besides the pivot in BC . ....Zack will be a great teacher and one Elgersma will learn a lot from...Looks like he's got all of the tools and it would be great for us to develop another CFL qb into a winner.....Here's hopin'

Headline: Canuck QB looking for help...gets head stoved in by ICE Agents instead.

Of course the maga stuff I mused is all bull$hit....I threw that one in there to magnify how ridiculous this whole Elgersma saga is proceeding in the excited States...Getting a work visa down there is a rare thing lately....good luck with that Tuberville

  15. Apparently AJ McCarron has called Tommy Tuberville and is hoping to push for a work visa for Elgersma ...Failing that he'll head over to the Whitehouse and try to get an audience with King Trump, to secure a UFL license to practice something somewhere in the states as long as it smells American....Meanwhile interest in the quarterback is dwindling fast in all quarters as the bench warming continues for the confused quarterback

  16. So when does Elgersma find out if he can obtain a work visa or not....Certainly seems like a lot of dithering around with this guy...IF his playing in the UFL hinges on the visa, you would think the powers that be down there would expedite his request...For all he knows this could be a very long belabored procedure and his future hangs in the balance... I hope to hell his agent has the sense to at least approach our organization and give us something to go by, as the clock is ticking down...The whole handling of this kid is looking shoddy at best...

  17. I'm really wondering why Elgersma doesn't dump his current agent...Some of what is happening with the kid via his representative smells of incompetency...Is this guy really concerned about Elgersma's career or is he more concerned about his own....Common sense should spell out that his best option for continuing his football career is with us...I think he's currently being sold a 'bill of goods' that are not at all to his benefit ....I have a sneaking hunch that the kid will finally see the light shortly and make the decision to don the bluengold...

I tend to agree with that....Same with if Walters didnt walk away from Biggie...and now Thomas and Kolo....All 3 would be penciled in as key returnees....That's been his way for 13 yrs...I highly doubt yr 14 he was gonna change

yup...Or he can use his legs and ability to move chains that way...But he is incapable of that for most part too...Is it in his head he is worried about injury and self preserving?....or he doesn't have the plums to do it a lot now?....either way it's a hinderance at QB for us. Even the times he does do it...99% of the times it's the most awkward and clumsy looking thing and just a recipe to be shelved for the yr from a big ol smack...That's also not a good thing hanging over your premium paid QB as well...Limited ways to use him due to fear of a season (likely career ender) injury

Agree and it's a tight rope we'll be walking in 26' ....hoping Zack can hold it altogether is tenuous...Reason why we NEED a back-up that can come in and get it done....I've noticed that nobody hardly brings up the 'concussion' issue Zack has....Knocks on the noggin' just don't go away and I hope it never rears it's ugly head BUT just in case it does I hope one of the new qb signings can come in and surprise the hell out of us
