I'm really wondering why Elgersma doesn't dump his current agent...Some of what is happening with the kid via his representative smells of incompetency...Is this guy really concerned about Elgersma's career or is he more concerned about his own....Common sense should spell out that his best option for continuing his football career is with us...I think he's currently being sold a 'bill of goods' that are not at all to his benefit ....I have a sneaking hunch that the kid will finally see the light shortly and make the decision to don the bluengold...

yup...Or he can use his legs and ability to move chains that way...But he is incapable of that for most part too...Is it in his head he is worried about injury and self preserving?....or he doesn't have the plums to do it a lot now?....either way it's a hinderance at QB for us. Even the times he does do it...99% of the times it's the most awkward and clumsy looking thing and just a recipe to be shelved for the yr from a big ol smack...That's also not a good thing hanging over your premium paid QB as well...Limited ways to use him due to fear of a season (likely career ender) injury
Agree and it's a tight rope we'll be walking in 26' ....hoping Zack can hold it altogether is tenuous...Reason why we NEED a back-up that can come in and get it done....I've noticed that nobody hardly brings up the 'concussion' issue Zack has....Knocks on the noggin' just don't go away and I hope it never rears it's ugly head BUT just in case it does I hope one of the new qb signings can come in and surprise the hell out of us

IF Elgersma is trying to get a work permit to stick around down south, he could be hooped....One of our other draft pics of recent years ...I believe it was Dobson who was going through that process, and it didn't pan out...Shortly after he was denied the permit he was in camp...Could the same thing play out for Elgersma.....we shall see...I'd like to see the kid in tc frankly....just to get to see for myself what he's got...So far all I'm getting about his talent is inuendo and promise...

Yeah their ass is out a mile on that take.....DB's are the least of worries....As for Vaccaro, there's always a priority for canuck o linemen....he'll go early ...Only way we would see him is if we could cook up a deal and swap pics ...We do have that extra at the end of the second round that we could put in play....We always seem to hit it out of the park with home town guys.... Vaccaro would be a nice fit

I know a lot of fans are saying that we shouldn't consider MBT...I have qualms about it BUT he seems to be one of the only options we have, to bring in as a back-up in case Zack can't go...IF he can park his 'weird takes' at the door and keep them to himself, he would/could be one of our options...He has a lot of CFL experience and can still sling the rock effectively...With our revamped receiving corps he could be very effective...When we have painted ourselves into a corner like we have in the qb dept. I would say our avenues have become very narrow...

You seen quarters??.....nickels and dimes used to be big if you had a couple of them...Bills were rare and if you seen a $2 bill with a buck in your wallet you were rich........When you see some of these contracts signed by certain athletes, I have to shake my head and wonder where it's all going to end,,,,......Times certainly have changed

yeah....that was kind of an awkward escort into the end zone ...He wasn't a bad receiver but not a 'Milt'.......................................Wow topics around here are getting a little thin.... can't wait for the draft

3 hours ago, Booch said: He been around a yr...and not sure why so many think he's a legit option....nothing I have seen tells me that....yeah he has had no shot in any reg season games....but also thee a reason too....well nobody here gets a shot with Osh as the HC unless there no other option but even then he will run a less than healthy guy out there before a backup
After this yrs TC the greek QB will be just a fart in the wind and gone
Certainly seems that way.....and I'll say OOOOPA to that...He just seemed a waste of space and time

Speaking for myself....MBT has a fairly good arm and that's about it....His penchant for drifting into some 'other world' in his conversations is quite amusing ...The only trouble with that is he seems dead serious in that world...His latest about talking to former players who have left us, has an 'occult' ring to it...If he would just stick to football and the 'living,' he might be acceptable...otherwise I don't know how he would fit in here
-
Artopeous is an interesting signing....He's been hanging around year after year but never really getting a shot at any kind of action....We don't hear about his practice time much....Is he some sort of secret weapon we're keeping under wraps?? I think we're either going to fish or cut bait with the guy in tc this year UNLESS the other qb we've signed this offseason,Perkins, turns out to be a bum.....Quarterbacking definitely has to be a high priority considering it's current state...We shall see in tc

if he wants it he will probably get another cfl camp from some one as the last arm/ extra arm. Hes got a great arm, decent release and he’s still got tons of upside. Almost no chance of fulfilling it though. He’s more of a pitcher than a qb. And qbs who get to the pros with out any touch or accuracy basically never pan out.
Maybe a team thinks their qb coach can finally fix his mechanics and bring finesse into his game. Or maybe a team will just want that wild, raw arm talent in camp for depth defenders and wrs to work with/against.
I think Morgan would be worth a look.....but like you say he needs some polish....The trouble with him just being an arm out there, I believe MBT is still available and with the CFL experience he has, I would say a club might go there first

We must have seen something in Elgersma, when we took a flyer on him in last years draft.....What we saw is never mentioned by our management ,other than the ol 'potential assessment' and that was good enough to make him our pic.....Now that available talent in last years draft must have been petty thin to take a shot at the guy....Other than an arm, what has he proven in his nfl attempts....If his failed southern attempts to crack a line-up continue, and he still shows a reluctance to come north and still gives us short shrift, I think we might have another Mulumba pic on our hands.....In that case it was play CFL east or nada....We might have to write this one off .....

Walters yeah....but is the guy who just luvs his canucks also going over the talent ....I just hope we don't look at it as a 'throw away' pick like we did last year....We need all the help we can get NOW...I believe Elgersma was that pick in 25' ....just sayin'

1 hour ago, Jesse said: I just don't see the 7 or 8 failed attempts. I think he didn't succeed on plan A and is on plan B.
The guy has been told since he picked up a football that he can't make the pros. And then he came within a single roster spot of an NFL roster, so he's gone on to the next step, which requires him to wait for the UFL season.
Then it comes down to whether or not he gets playing time in the UFL....If he's constantly rated third string... and seeing the way the politics works down there in football, his nfl dream will have gone up in a puff of smoke...UFL then success in the NFL.....pipe dream being administered to the kid for sure

The best thing Elgersma could do right now, as it looks like things have dried up down south, is to have a serious talk with Rourke....Nathan could set him straight about the situation he finds himself in at present.....Best advice ....sign with Winnipeg.....get your feet wet in the CFL for a couple of years, then make your way professionally ...I don't know who is currently giving the guy advice BUT it really doesn't sound or realistic.....The kid has got to make a decision soon before the clock runs out on his career
With Zack hinting today on third down that this could be his last season AND the possibility that we'll be looking for his replacement .....might motivate Elgersma to start thinking BOMBERS
-
I think the 'show me the money' quip should be laid at the feet of Elgersma's agent also...Sometimes I wonder if any of these guys have the true interest of their client at heart....money being the 'only' motivating factor for some of them....Obviously it looks like at the moment, things for the kid are drying up, and he should be casting his eye northward in earnest...IF his representative is just blowing smoke up his arse, I think Elgersma would be wise to seek out another agent...If our draft pic shows little or no interest in attending tc....looks like a bust ,and his football career will have come to an abrupt halt...Somehow I think he'll show up here when saner heads prevail

22 hours ago, Booch said: Explain kolo..Thomas..amoung others...
There isn't any explanation, other than failure to recognize the player(s) is incompetent....What measurables used by Osh to make his decisions are tough to pin point....The 2 players you mention were obviously not good enough ....one due to 'best before date' long expired, and the other was out of his depth at the position or as some have put it 'just plain crap' ...I don't know why they were not treated the same as Clercius and benched....only Osh can answer that...It certainly smacks of favoritism and if you allow that to permeate your club ....one day it will all catch up....Seeing as both players are no longer on our roster maybe the coach has had a revelation...One can only hope ....I won't hold my breath
-
I can't remember the game but Dillon Mitchell was taken aside and dressed down for his effort....or should we say non-effort....Clercius being benched is a surprise BUT you either come to play or you ride the pine....Big boys playing a big boys game...I know they understand what's expected of them and if they don't deliver....and get chastised for it, team first kicks in and egos get checked at the door

25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread
in Blue Bomber Discussion
So when does Elgersma find out if he can obtain a work visa or not....Certainly seems like a lot of dithering around with this guy...IF his playing in the UFL hinges on the visa, you would think the powers that be down there would expedite his request...For all he knows this could be a very long belabored procedure and his future hangs in the balance... I hope to hell his agent has the sense to at least approach our organization and give us something to go by, as the clock is ticking down...The whole handling of this kid is looking shoddy at best...
