I was in great shape this past season...had the Argos on the Thursday night before the wedding. Everyone was in town to get together and watch it...had a big party......be a nice ****-kicking of the Argos to start up our wedding weekend. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand we let MBT look like a legitimate QB and come back to win the game in a squeaker. My anxiety went into overdrive.....I swear that game nearly ruined our wedding.

I attended that game in T.O. also. Sat behind bomber bench. Still a pretty good game although we let it slip away.  I was lit.

I' am starting to think that Lapo's Offensive schemes and plays were very creative and far from predictable... I think it was his play calling.

Lapo's offences are great. Play calling drove me nuts and was very predictable for the most part.  Not sure about the fit in Ottawa as they have spiralled downward to the bottom. Was thinking he would be successful in Edmonton as they are in better shape.  I like Lapo (despite play calling) and wish him well, but unfortunately think he may be on TSN panel again in 2021.

Looking forward to seeing a Lapo type offence with an aggressive twist from BP.

I don't even understand the intent of the rule, is this supposed to be a way to save money?  Does it make the league more equal?  I don't get it...

May be a way for teams that overpaid for QBs to be able to save some cash and use it on another position. (BC, Calgary, Edmonton I'm looking at you)

Streveler is an important piece moving forward.   Right now, the best short yardage guy in the league, a serious running threat from any formation whatsoever....and if he refines his pocket presence and accuracy - will be a total nightmare for defences

He has to be part of future plans. It will be interesting to see what that will look like with the 2 QB Roster next year.  Do we give up on McGuire?

  5. I think we make Collaros a decent offer. Not over the top, saving room for the OL, D and a good increase for Streveler.

Whatever verbal deal Collaros may have had with TO, may have changed after winning the lat 4 games without getting his bell rung and going into offseason with the GC win.

If not, I think we roll with Strevy and McGuire. McGuire look promising, but so does just about every other backup we've ever had. Strevy keeps learning and improves passing game, he could be very very good. It may be his time.

I've watched new QBs like Evans, Adams etc run around, escape pressure and chuck the ball downfield for a big gain or TD. Unfortunately that doesn't happen when Nichols get's pressure.

I like Nichols and I appreciate his contribution to the team so far. Emotions aside I think it's time to move on.

  6. My Game Day,

Do not Shave , put on old lightning bolt logo T. (to be worn under Jersey later)

Pre-game - do not use  "Game Time" beer glass. Use any pre-game beer glass ( Draught beer from kegerator)

Game time: Put on Royal Blue Jersey, switch to 20oz "Game-Time" beer glass.

I have two identical "Game-Time" beer glasses. I may have mixed them up a few times during the season - my bad. I have been using the right one the past 3 weeks. :)

Nichols was playing behind an o-line that gave him plenty of steamboats.   Had Nichols stayed healthy I don't see the same type of success as he caves as soon as he faces pressure.

Nichols is good on the deep ball so I'd say they are the same in that regard.

Everything else though Collaros is better.   Way more mobile,  doesn't get rattled and emotional like Nichols.  He can also hit a receiver in stride which Nichols can not for the life of him. Outside of the deep ball,  the short and mid range passes it feels like the receivers for Nichols have to dive and leap to catch.

That being said next season I'd rather they go with McGuire and Streveler and move on....  I'd only take Collaros back at a reduced salary.

This is pretty much spot on IMO. Collaros has only played Calgary so we've yet to see how he fairs against other teams. Nichols has struggled againts Calgary. The only game he played them this year, he had 177 yards passing and 0 Tds. We won 28-26 with Arbuckle at QB for Stamps. Grant scored 2 TDs on returns.

One thing I see with Collaros that is much better (besides accuracy) than our other QBs is his escapability when the pocket collapses. Even Strevy has issues staying vertical with first contact when dropping back to pass, although when he runs north/south its a different story.

  8. I know the Harris snubbing has been beaten to death, but what is Simone Lawrence doing on there. He served a suspension and fined for a nasty headshot. Is that the type of player we call outstanding? That to me is the opposite of outstanding and negates anything positive he does on the field.  So play as dirty as you like, but be extra careful what you ingest!

I think for clarity, the league should make players ineligible for awards if they are suspended for any reason.
