bb1 got a reaction from Floyd in What to do about the D?
If they fire Thorpe I hope we are on the phone to bring him in as a consultant....and then next year who knows...

bb1 got a reaction from kelownabomberfan in Geoff Gray Cut By Pack
Can see Gray kicking around like Mulumba though....hope not. I was more talking about players like Bighill proven CFL stars sitting on NFL practice rosters...the NFL is not doing the CFL any favours and if they help shut us down where we will these type of players develop?

bb1 got a reaction from Noeller in 3 stars plus HH LDC edition.
The good news is to have this kind of game now and change out the weak parts...next game will really tell us what our team is made of.

bb1 reacted to MC in CFL QB Power Rankings Week 11
I always find it interesting that posters criticize Glenn, but say that if not for his broken arm the Bombers would have won the 2007 Grey Cup.
If these posters are to believed, then Glenn would have thrown 7 pick-6's in the game.
Kevin Glenn is a good QB. Always has been. He has an accurate quick release, is generally efficient and reads defenses well. He is not a great QB for an equal number of reasons, but give the guy credit.

bb1 got a reaction from shadybob in Injury Report
Actually he does because Thorpe is already a better receiver than Lankford...that was his point. As a returner we have Fogg and Flanders.

bb1 reacted to Atomic in 3 stars plus HH broken esks streak edition
Can't help but think he might be right off the roster when Dressler comes back. They tipped their hand using Flanders on kick return.

bb1 reacted to TBURGESS in THE MORNING AFTER...WITH COFFEE
I hated the attempted block by Nichols. Game was over and he could have been trucked by the defensive player. No advantage to trying the block except the single play and a huge disadvantage if he got hurt.

bb1 got a reaction from TBURGESS in WINNIPEG @ HAMILTON
Great game my only complaint 2 min to go and we are still playing Nichols? I know he was just handing off the ball and the fever played too...but hell the Cats had nothing to lose and I hate to see Nichols get hurt for what? We have capable backups use them!

bb1 reacted to Noeller in Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)
First rule of internet arguing: If you don't even have all the facts (Was he the GM???) then don't argue in the first place.
Spudsy, I don't often call you out, because frankly, it's too easy and it's not nice to pick on lessers.........but this is just an egregious case of talking out your ass, and those kinds of things can't be allowed on the internet.

bb1 reacted to Arnold_Palmer in Bombers @ Redblacks
This time a year ago, the Bombers offence was averaging 17.6 points per game, eighth in the CFL, in a 1-4 start. Through five games this year, they are averaging 31.4 points, first in the league. He has led the Bombers on more TD drives, 17, than any other quarterback in the CFL.
Most importantly, the Bombers are 13-5 since he took control of the offence late last July. And given the revolving door at the position for so many seasons, that’s worth repeating again: 13 wins, 5 losses or a winning percentage of .722.
Yet people still feel the need to complain. All he does is win and this season he leads the league in producing touchdowns on drives. I could care less about the two and outs when we're producing a higher number of touchdowns per drive because yeah yards are nice but touchdowns win you games.

Bass > Hurl, and it's not even close.
Saying Hurl is absorbing blocks at the los is just another way of saying that he can't shed blocks at the los to make a tackle, which is what a MLB is supposed to do.

bb1 reacted to Floyd in Blue Tackling
This argument makes total sense... aside from the fact that Bass was top ten in the league for tackles last year. But I guess that's because he was in the wrong gap... right?

Because I have a more objective mind than the rest of you.
It's not an opinion, it's pretty damn clear. The command centre was too pansy to overturn the call.

bb1 reacted to TBURGESS in Looking Ahead: Montreal Vs Winnipeg
Of course he inherited a bad team, but so did Trestman and he's turned Toronto around in the first third of his first season. I don't give O'Shea a mulligan for being a rookie HC. You ought to be able to do the job you get.
I don't like the first round of coordinators at all and I don't much like the passive PLAP or Hall all that much better. There's a reason we constantly start slow and give up late drives.
O'Shea hasn't steadily improved. In fact he had more wins in his first season than his second and we absolutely stunk in the first third of his third season. O'Shea's had two thirds of a good season so far and many of the changes that sparked our turn around were forced on him by injuries. IMHO 2/3's of one season don't erase 2 1/3 bad seasons.
Being liked by your players is a horrible way to judge an HC. Jeff Freakin' Reinebolt was loved by his players too. It didn't make him any good at his job. Folks put way too much stock in what players say after they sign with any team. Would the players who say good things about O'Shea say good things bout any other HC they were playing for? Probably. Would they sign for more money on another team? Probably.
Wins is the number 1 way to judge an HC. I wish I could be astounded that I have to point that out, but...

bb1 reacted to Noeller in Anyone collect hockey cards?
One of my favourite things in my collection, is a whole set of Khari Jones cards that his dad Ray sent me. Some autographed, some not. At the time, as of 2004ish, it was every single card of his. Ray was a member of OurBombers.com back in the day and saw how much of a fan I was, sent me a PM asking for my address so he could mail them to me, totally free. He is a great man...

Well I wouldn't be quick to write off an Austin coached team yet.. still very early and I have seen him turn a team around in a hurry.

@bb1 FYI this seems to work again. May have just been a temporary glitch on their site.
