bb1 got a reaction from Stickem in Bombers Rookie Camp/Training Camp/Pre-Season Thread
MOS quote "There’s different ways to do it. You either say, ‘Here’s our system. We’re very rigid. We’re bringing people in to fit that system. If you don’t fit the system, you’re gone.’ We look at it the other way — what can they do and how do we put them on the field and have them be successful.” ‐‐--------Just another example of why MOS is such a great coach.

Just got back from practice. Got there a little late, left a little early. Thought I'd write up some notes with the obvious disclaimer that I have no idea what I'm talking about. But people are hungry for Bomber stuff. So here goes.
Evan Holm and Dalton Schoen are working their butts off out there. Nice to see. Holm both looks extremely athletic and technically sound. He made a play on the ball most times he lined up Brian Cole and DeJuan Cooper stand out as guys who have a physical presence but also move really well Brian Cole had an interception in skeleton Demski made Darby look like a pylon on one play in the one-on-ones Schoen works hard every play and catches the ball every play. Lawler makes things look easy. Early on it looked like Collaros was trying to work on his timing with Lawler. Nichols jumped a route and nearly picked off the pass but dropped it and I *think* Lawler ended up with it as he was lying on the ground Winston Rose matched up against Lawler a couple times. I think one time Lawler fell down and Rose got the pick. Another time Lawler backed Rose off about 10 yards and was wide open. One guy that really stands out because of his diminutive stature is #22 Dominick Fiscelli. Caught a bunch of balls in skelly in the middle of the field. 5'9" but is obviously pretty quick. Jake Kelly (canadian DB) ran pretty good with Schoen one time Kickers might have done something near the end of practice after we left...but up until that point they were just lounging around..or helping out with setting up drills for other positions. One thing I noted is that our veteran kickers are noticeably smaller than the new guys. I was hoping to get to see them in action -

Pretty much nails it - the Elks and the league in general.
He is a forward thinking guy with a proven track record - and he actually cares.
Also has been doing crazy things - like listening to the fan base.

Tony Bennett sounds like a good pick. Good job Kyle!

Good to see so many names from teams past on that roster. In the old dark times of yore, we'd see such a high turnover as players couldn't wait to get out of Winnipeg and on with someone else. Now they all want to stay, year after year. So awesome!

Say that you have a poorly developed self-preservation instinct without saying that you have a poorly developed self-preservation instinct. We will watch the obituaries for an update on Monday.

Made it to my first Rookie Camp day today. Not much to report other than the Deuce Wallace #48 INT. O'Shea Jr almost made a circus catch. He was targeted a few times. #87 Jaivon Heiligh made a nice catch.

Knights were at like 102 million cap vs the Jets. Jets were just below the max of like 84 or whatever it Is.
Seattle Florida would end the nhl.
Nobody would watch
Jets probably wishing instead of buying a team they got to pick who they wanted like Vegas and Seattle too. Seattle has no real superstars Altho Eberle and Beniers are, but they are a group of guys who just work hard.
Would be nice if the Jets had a team who just works hard
Ppl praising Seattle were shitting on Francis when he chose the team tho so things change dramatically

You make it sound like the Garbage Knights don't. In reality, it's a wash considering both teams are over the cap.

I'd be shocked if MOSJ turns out to be anything more than another body in camp. He was an undrafted receiver in a fairly shallow draft so my expectations are low. That being said, if he does manage to snag a spot on the roster, I have no doubt it'd be because he earned it, and not because of nepotism.

Jones is a 5 year starter which is rare though not against super high competition.

Man I love going to training camp. I'll make it to a few time slots. Nothing like the quiet stadium with the sun beaming down and watching the competition.
One of my favorite times of the year. So relaxing

I was bussing tables on a very busy Saturday night. I did one table too many & my tub was overflowing & really heavy. My hands were a little greasy from all the work. I started for the kitchen but I knew I'd never make it. I dropped that heavy bus tub right in the middle of the dining area. The restaurant was loud with people eating & carrying on. The whole place went quiet & then people started talking again. I cleaned up the mess absolutely mortified. Then I got hauled into the manager's office where he tore a strip off me for breaking dishes. What a bad night that was. Never did that again.

Man we used to love going to the all you could eat deep fried shrimp days on weekends. The servers would just walk around with baskets of deep fried shrimp and we would just have them dump out the baskets onto our plates. But we had to make sure we left room for the all you could eat soft serve ice cream. Never be a place like that again.

I was part the original crew that worked at Bonanza. We opened in November 1973. I was in Grade 12. Winnipeggers loved the place. Man, were we busy!!!
