This. My Walby late-80s is my favourite jersey, but also my Joe Pop and Matty D retros from around 2010, through to Milt, Khari, ChuckBob and Big Bird, Armstrong 2007, Henoc and Watson 2012ish up to Harris 2019ish. It's really a story of my fandom...

Don’t forget mini milt Terrance Edward’s, when I was brainwashing my son that we are a Bomber family, that’s the player he liked and wore to Games when they were visiting the eskimos/elks. Still has it. Then the NFL Eagles took him over.

  2. Excerpt take from the Winnipeg Sun:

'Of Winnipeg’s 28 remaining games, 17 are against teams that weren’t in a playoff position on Thursday afternoon. Some, Minnesota and Nashville, for instance, are fighting for their lives. Others, like Chicago, the Jets opponent on Friday, are so far out of it they have completely different things at stake.

That, Niederreiter knows, can be tricky.

“They have no system, they try to just get points and some guys they just try to be in the lineup for next year and all that, so (try) to prove themselves,” he said. “I’ve been fortunate to have been in the playoffs for a lot of years… and teams who are fighting for playoffs they play with structure. They try to do all the little things right to get into the playoffs. But then you play down the stretch, maybe even in Chicago, where they maybe cheat for offence. There are players in certain positions they shouldn’t be in.

“So it’s something that’s going to be tough to play.”

Interesting take by NN. Something I never took into consideration of how trap games can sometimes work.

Nobody was fired. A contract wasn't renewed.

I know that's hair-splitting, but it is relevant.

And if it was only because of the alleged harassment and the Accuser can prove that, then they would win in court.

But as I suspect that actually proving that would be a monumental hill to climb in a court room, her counsel went for plan B. Trial by media.

Still think that they could have gotten the full amount they are currently asking for had they just asked.

There is a 0% chance that MLSE/Argos legal department would have not taken this very seriously and seized the chance to pay the asking price.

How do you know all of this or are you just presenting your opinion as fact?

Is it MLSE/Argo's legal department have a history of cutting cheques for things to go away that would tell you why not this time, ie never got to them?

Cuz if so, that's a much larger issue of what's happening here.

I was referring to what I would advise my daughter if she was in that situation, other women can do whatever they like.  I do not personally see it as a safe work environment filled with really good people with wonderful intentions.  Sue me.

Nope, no planning in sueing you.

I have a 22 year old daughter training to be a physiotherapist and why I mention that is she could potentially be working with football teams.

I don't see the world as extremes for the most part. My wife and I have hopefully raised her with the tools to know the dangers of the world and how to handle it coupled with not limiting her options due to others and their bad behaviours.

Like a lot of other people's daughters, she's a smart, independent well adjusted full of quirks young human being who may want to contribute value to a room full of professional athletes.

No guarantees for her but how you appear to accept reality is different in how I and others may accept reality. Fair enough.

Not at all, but you're naive if you think a testosterone filled locker room is a certified "work safe environment".  Maybe part of her job was to shoot players up with pain killers so they can perform their duties for our amusement.

So you're suggesting no 22 year old woman should be working for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers that requires her to be in close contact with the players because reality dictates that Walters and company have no chance to create a safe working environment?

    Quick, more corporate welfare.

As a lifelong hardcore jet fan, my non critical thinking sports is awesome response is OMG give them what they want, I don't want to lose the Jets twice!

My thinking this through and placing professional sport in its appropriate pecking order response is go F yourself, see ya if you're going to play that we'll move if you (government, corporations, public) don't ante up shite.

    1. The primary function of any museum is to preserve heritage and educate the public. Expecting a high degree of economic impact through tourism, is a recent shift and actually a fairly new idea.

    2. You pointed out government subsidy as if it were a negative. It's the norm for any museum - they all get subsidies.  That's why I could rent two rooms at the MB. museum this past Friday, and also have my students complete a scavenger hunt of the galleries, all for $13 per student, plus 5 free chaperones. We were at the museum from 9:30 - 3:00; per hour, per student, that's ridiculously low, and I greatly appreciate it.

Mark H. you are one fine educator. Thank you for your service. I mean that.

How about the source being the official CMHR year end report of the financials and futures.

Boy it really is getting tiresome always being right.

Also the earlier comment about the suburbs... Any normal person driving through our downtown can clearly see it is a dump. Anyone who says otherwise is delusional and suffering from denial.

Face it, downtown is a dump and Winnipeg is not a place where people want to come and visit.  It's the truth.

  9. Excerpt taken from the Hockey News A story by Nick Horwat:

'Acciari recounted the event and said he doesn’t hold any ill will against Dillon.

“Just going to leave that in the past,” Acciari said. “It is what it is. He reached out and texted me. You know, it’s hockey. You get hit.”

Acciari knows a thing or two about playing a rough game since he had 92 hits at the time of the incident. At the time, he led the Penguins in that category, only recently being surpassed by Kris Letang.

The Penguins have gone 1-4-1 without Acciari, and all he is focused on is returning to full health and getting back to the ice with his teammates.

“I just want to focus on me feeling better,” Acciari said. “Getting back out with these guys.”

    Now that's a pro. Respect.

Also, regardless of the debate of how long Dillion should have got, not good in what he did. He's got to be better.

For the stats?  Stats Canada and if you don't feel like going through the massive stat sheets that they have then you can google search.     Seriously you've never heard Winnipeg being called Murder Capital of Canada before?   It's always a joke when the numbers come out between Winnipeg and Edmonton exchanging the title.

I've modified a line from Jerry Maguire where he says, you complete me. I've changed it to, you exhaust me. Said with warmth and caring of course.

Yes thank you google search, an amateurs tool for 'in-depth' research.

But the stats say otherwise,  yes Vancouver with a much larger population will have higher totals.  But per capita Winnipeg has more crime.      Also Winnipeg has had a drug war for over 10 years downtown.   Remember what I said... media only reports a tiny fraction of the crimes that are commited around town.

For the larger cities Winnipeg, Regina, and Kelowna are always near the top for highest crime rate in Canada.   Thompson and its crime rate is insanely high.

Once again stats don't lie,  the museum is not well attended.   It's a draw for only a niche part of the population.     Not opinion it's fact.
