After the play, dirty cross check to the face. He should be gone the rest of the season. If this is during the play, totally different, but this is long after the play, the player is not expecting anything and was in a defenseless position. Dirty as it gets.

But but but him and his coach’s fee fee’s were hurt cuz meany slap shotted the empty netter in therefore according to coach reasonable reaction.

    Leafs suck.

Obviously players have a responsibility in executing but time for the coaches to pan over game tape and make the necessary adjustments in schemes and structure cuz it may be that teams are figuring out how best to play us.

Pulled from a story from Sportsnet:

“Normally, we’re scoring a few more goals than we are right now,” Jets coach Rick Bowness said. “Five on five, we’re still the best team in this league. Right now, we’re not scoring goals. We’re going to stay with who the Winnipeg Jets are. We’re going to keep working and we’ll pull through this.”

    What do I know.

Fact is that bighill is barely fast enough these days when 100%. Dinged at all his play drops off a cliff. Should have been out 100%. And schoen wasn't practicing at all... another should have been outm and Bailey was clearly hurt, should have been sat. But really with the receivers you want to play one dinged guy fine, but you can't do 3.

The other part I look at is the depth guys and what that says to them, i.e., 'that guy over there is better than you at 100% and him at 50%-70%.

Too early to call this a "must win" game? A five-game slide at this point (or any point for that matter) feels like the beginning of the end.

Stupid momentum-killing All Star break. ☹️

Actually, the Jets weren't working much on good momentum heading into the all-star break.

They'll turn it around (said rocking back and forth in fetal position).

Well now we have to. We found Stove and Sayles back to back, let’s get going fellas.

I’m thinking quality CFL DB’s are not a dime a dozen. Really looking forward to seeing who we bring to camp.

Let’s find ourselves a Stiggers type player please and thank you. As much as I hate the Argos I so enjoyed watching him play.

Pretty nice discount he took to stay in Winnipeg. Are people going to forgive him now for his tweet and stop calling him a selfish teammate?

Knowing I'm far away from being a perfect poster and really trying not to be too much of a hypocrite here but by constantly and predictably coming in hot with questions/comments like this across many different discussions, what are you seeking to accomplish?

Forget it, don't answer that, don't want to derail the fun we are having here. Maybe we can start a new thread on this instead so we can generate a more fulsome discussion to get at varying viewpoints on this.

    Or not.

    Go Bombers.

What’s your take on losing those interior DL? Is there enough depth there to replace 2 studs + possibly Oakman as well?

l see Ouelette as a huge loss as well,
The announcers talked about Kelly but I saw the Argos running game as the harder aspect to deal with. No one was able to pin their ears back on the QB until the EF.
I was actually really hoping to see him in blue & gold when it looked like Brady was gone.

The 2024 season will be glorious if TO can't establish the run resulting in CK running for his life throwing up ducks sulking back to the sidelines standing alone arms crossed with that 'I'm a horrible teammate' glare of his.

    Ahhhh one can dream.

Collaros can be the best qb in the league and still be over paid.

I think with Strev in the fold to fill in the gaps of what ZC doesn't bring to the table, ZC is more consistent in delivering this coming season.

We're looking good heading into 2024 with this QB tandem.

Wouldn't take any other QB duo from the eight other teams over these guys.

The thing we know for sure is that Toronto really likes Brady. They wanted him two years ago but had to settle for the back up prize instead. But Brady was their first choice. So we know they'd love to have him... But willing to pay through the nose...? Remains to be seen.

I’d stop you right after the word really, add the word . . . hmmmmm let’s say sucks and that’s all one really needs to know about that.

MY wife bought me a discount card of 10% for Xmas so I'll probably buy a jersey. I always go heritage players so it may be #27 Raimey, #11 Ploen or #2 Clements.

Chefs kiss on the #2 Clements.

I loved watching him play. Him and the team around him really took me from an average to hardcore fan that remains to this day.

  11. For what's it worth I found this piece of info that may help with perspective in giving up a first round draft pick.

Taken from Sportsnet a story by Jason Bukala:

The Jets paid what seems to be the going rate this trade deadline season. First-round picks clearly have to be included to push deals to the finish line. The Jets’ first-round pick should land somewhere between 26-32 in June.

It should be recognized that Winnipeg already owned Montreal’s 2024 second-round pick, which should end up being inside the top 40, so even after moving their first they still have a relatively early swing at a future prospect with that draft slot.
