  1. Being as how we are talking about Hurl, why would it be unrealistic to think he would be on a reduced contract? Two prominent Bombers took pay cuts, so why not a linebacker who has about the same value as Briggs or Waggoner? I'm sure he did not volunteer to take the hit, but his option was to leave, and he may not get another equal or better offer plus having to uproot. He just might like it here.

I agree with Taunted, if the draft is poor it might have been wise for them to make the move they made.  It doesn't make it any worse for Winnipeg, because well we got TJ Heath and a Draft pick while giving up a player we honestly no longer wanted.  It just means that perhaps Montreal didn't get burnt as hard as people initially thought, nothing wrong with that idea it was still a great trade for Winnipeg.

The nice thing is we could pick a future with one of our first rounders because of this trade, and this years draft choices the futures might be the only picks worth choosing.

Now you're just making fun of Taynted.....

Yes we did benefit from immigration, but at the same time, I'm pretty sure there's some sort of international treaty concerning cruel and unusual punishment that prohibits immigrants and refugees from being situated in Saskatchewan.

That, and the mandatory prefrontal lobotomy so they wouldn't stand out.

Rider fans are doing their damnedest to debunk Dunk. Everything from slipshod reporting to erroneous dates to, once again, trying to discredit a fine organization such as the Riders. I responded to a post about Walters, why are you changing the subject?  I also never said Walters didn't do a good job either. I said don't get carried away. Shologan was a miss and had a poor year. Smith did nothing either, Dressler didn't light the world on fire in between injuries but had a ok year. Cummings was a flop.  Nichols was a good move, Harris was a good move. I think Walters has done a decent job overall. As far as the Riders go, I'm not here to defend some of the moves we have made, in fact I have made better choices drunk on who to take home from the bar, LOL

And here I would have thought that Regina pickups would have been found at the Humane Society.

no knock on Jake but that would be a serious step backwards. He works well in rotation but even then we can do better.

As a fulltime starter he would wear down fast, also if yiu watch game film he is the slowest guy to react and get out of his stance at the snap...very slow as guys are already up and moving while he still in 3 or 4 point...go watch some pvr'd game if you have it.

Also as a game goes on he gets washed out on plays a lot..great motor..i sure great guy but not starter material

Yup. Getting a sack every now and again is great, but the D-lineman has to be involved in every play, at least gumming things up rather than being a speed bump 9 of 10 plays.

as far as Cummings I don't expect him to stick anywhere in the NFL, he could definitely come back at some point,  just a matter of when, and so long as the riders don't make him part of their 100 man try out throughout the season

Cummings was supposed to be a force up the middle of the D-line but for one reason or another, wasn't. His contribution can be easily replaced. The same goes for our tag-team Import defensive ends,

  8. About two weeks before Trump was sworn into office, a bipartisan committee met for a CIA briefing regarding Trump and Putin/Russia involvement in the election and possible influence over Trump's presidency. The meeting was "sub rosa" and all the attendees had to swear to keep secret the content. One Democratic congressman came out and said that he could not discuss the infromation but he was "shaken" and wanted an investigation but was voted down by the Republican members of the committee.

  9. Robert Reich Has a Chilling Theory About Those Berkeley Protesters

"I saw these people. They all looked almost paramilitary. They were not from the campus."

In the wake of a University of California Berkeley protest that saw demonstrators burn campus lights and a sign for Breitbart News editor Milo Yiannopoulos in effigy, Donald Trump has threatened to cut federal funding from public colleges infringing on free speech.

If U.C. Berkeley does not allow free speech and practices violence on innocent people with a different point of view - NO FEDERAL FUNDS?

But at least one Berkeley professor believes the so-called alt-right may have instigated the violence.

"I was there for part of last night and I know what I saw. Those people were not Berkeley students," former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich told CNN's Don Lemon, reiterating the statement issued by the university regarding the incident. "Those people were outsiders, agitators. I’ve never seen them before. There’s rumors that they actually were right-wingers. They were a part of a group that were organized and ready to create the kind of tumult and danger you saw that forced the police to cancel the event."

Turning to Trump's remarks, Reich highlighted Berkeley's history as the "home of free speech."

"Donald Trump, when he says Berkeley doesn’t respect free speech rights, that’s a complete distortion of the truth. I mean, Berkeley opened its biggest auditorium to this right-wing Breitbart News character, this hateful, odious person. They said, ‘Free speech is the most important thing we stand for,’ and it was these outsiders who caused the police to finally come in and have to cancel it," Reich pointed out.

“You think it’s a strategy by Yiannopoulos, or right-wingers?" asked Lemon. "They put this on in an effort to show there’s no free speech on a college campus like UC Berkeley?”

“I wouldn’t bet against it, Don," Reich told him. "Again, I saw these people. They all looked almost paramilitary. They were not from the campus. And I’ve heard — again, I don’t want to say factually, but I’ve heard there was some relationship here between these people and the right wing and the right-wing movement that is affiliated with Breitbart News."
