Dieter Brock loved the zoo & D i c k Thornton liked every road that led out of Winnipeg.
If Brock loves zoos, he ought to feel at home with the Riders and Alouettes.

Actually, the Riders won 1 more playoff game than the Bombers last year.... 31-20 over Ottawa.
I sit corrected.

Saying the right thing now and living it are two different things. Let's just hope he means it.
Unless the Bombers gave Durant a big lump of money up front, I cannot see how this could really hurt them. If Durant shows his stuff well at training camp, great. If he gets beaten out by a newcomer, that's Ok too. The Bombers won as many playoff games as the Riders last year, and that is no longer acceptable. Just making the playoffs and bowing out after one game is not good enough and will lead to significant changes in either coaching or the GM position.
-
Durant didn't have many viable options, and neither did the Bombers for a credible backup. That said, Durant potentially gives us the best backup we have for a long while. Yes, he's a gamble but he has had success, and I'm happy to have him here.

Where do we find the nutless monkeys? Or do we just buy wholesale monkeys and have to do the job ourselves.
You could do the job yourself as the Scottish sheepherders do.

Kevin Glenn and Damon Allen are actually pretty similar guys in my mind as far as regular season qbs go, the real difference is that Allen didn't have the problems in the playoffs that Glenn does. Now obviously they're very different qbs stylistically but I also felt they were sort of average qbs who lasted a long time.
Allen had the benefit of playing for good teams, and Glenn did not, but Allen could extend plays with his legs and improvisations.

I don't disagree but who is our good import MLB? And the other downside is Bond could go to another team and make their oline that much better
If the Bomber bird-dogs cannot find either a good QB prospect or a good MLB prospect, the lot ought to be half-hanged. drawn, quartered and replaced with nutless monkeys

Vernon Adams could be worth a look at the right price if he shakes loose.
Maybe, but Bridge has some battlefield experience- Adams is still unknown for the most part.

While I agree with you it's going to be hard to give up one of the best olinemen in the league because we want a better ratio.
But if it comes down to either having Bond on the O-line with Hurl at MLB, or Neufeld or another NI on the O-line with a good import MLB, I would go with option "B".

Riverboat gambler Corky Jones is all in on Zach....heh heh...IF Collaros doesn't return any dividends, they'll be tying Jones to the paddle wheel and sinking him...That's a lot of coin to be tied up in pivots...I'm sure Bridge is watching this and thinking ..wow..Jonesie has dropped a bundle on Zach and I'm glad I only signed for one year...This is going to be fun to watch...Interesting days ahead in Saskabush country heh heh
With some misgivings, I would be interested in Bridge as a project QB, but only if he was willing to work on the deficits in his game. God knows, he couldn't be worse than LeFevour or Davis.

The hate continues for Sask....so be it. It maybe a hefty price but right now I would take their QB depth over ours. Still a significant concern.
Ummm...no. Even if our backups were zeros, Nichols is ten or close, and none of the QBs under contract in Regina rate higher than a 3, we are waaay ahead.

Both Bridge and Adams are prone to disgruntlement, Jones commitment to Collaros will refuel the QB carousel.
Isn't disgruntlement what happens when a pig retires?

So Collaros gets $430,000. That's at least $130,000 more than Glenn got last year. Wonder who gets cut there? Funny thing is on Riderfans they're praising Jones for getting a QB and preserving the cap.
Since when is the salary cap a consideration in Regina?

I thought Davis got a short hook to be fair. He was better than LeFevour, and we played without any semblance of a receiving core, missing Adams and Dressler.
Talk about damning with faint praise.

They bring in extra bodies every year at every position... doesn't mean the starters are losing their jobs or leaving.
Straughan and Bauman looked very interesting, but we will see.

I doubt both LeFevour and Davis will be in camp. Either we re-sign LeFevour and cut Davis, or we don't re-sign LeFevour. I'd be shocked and pretty disappointed if they are both here.
I will be disappointed but not shocked if either or both are still here at training camp. Even in his dotage, McManus would be a better option.

I can just imagine the 2018 Bombers trotting our there with Sam Hurl and Patrick Neufeld as starters like it’s 2015.
Then Bomber fans need to have barf bags passed out at every home game.
