Are you new to Winnipeg...?  Yes, everyone cares.
Can't go wrong with either of those guys though, I believe it will be Wheeler.

Dont put too much attention on where they are on the position chart. LaPolice move receivers around depending on the call.

Sometimes guys get comfortable and stop producing (Davis), and the guys behind them keep working hard and getting better (Mayo, Sheppard).  Not sure that's an indictment of the talent evaluation.

Based on my stats, after deep research into the last 4 games, I found they we have exactly 1.0 wins per game.

what if the defense isn't giving you the deep ball? What if the defense takes that away and only allows you the dink-n-dunk underneath?
What if not going deep means a lot less turnovers, potentially, and that's the reason Nichols has been able to play (mostly) mistake-free football and allow us to win the turnover battle pretty handily?

    Again, just "What If"'s..........

We are a fickle group of fans lol. We want every game to be record setting. All to have 450+ yards of passing, 300 yards rushing, 7 TDs (on defence alone) and to just clobber our opponents.

I just want to see a W at the end of the game. I really could care less how it's accomplished. Cause by the end of the season it's not how we won its how many.

They did not go deep a whole bunch in one game and people think they have gone away from it? The other three games all had deep passes.

I find it interesting that no one brings up the games BC played vs Gale or that Calgary played vs Sask in general when referencing how dominant these teams are. Yeah we have run into backup quarterbacks but I present the counter point:
Kilgore beat Ottawa (a team many had as a East division front runner) before we caved his face in.
Masoli has a record of 3-1 vs teams not called Winnipeg (including wins against a Ray led Toronto and Reilly in Edmonton)
We have also beaten Reilly and Glenn on our streak, both starting QBs for their respective teams.
You can only play who's in front of you and give full marks to the Bombers for taking advantage.

    NO MERCY
I want this LDC to be a classic and to close out Mosaic as our house. I want huge hits. I want huge scoring from all 3 sides. Pick 6, kicks run back for 6 and Dressler and Denmark with a receiving TD each. I want a blowout of all blowouts. I want Jonsey so pissed he walks off the field without shaking hands again. I want the Rider forum to explode with disgust over how we ran up the score. We can do it. We need to just do it.

Fact of the matter is willy has not had a good oline from day one. In each of his first two years  he managed  early season victories while amassing massive damage along the way. He was broke down and had not recovered in the games he played this year. That was clear to the fans and especially  his teammates.
He gave this team everything he had in year one and two. To start the year he was just a shell of what he was. He needs more time to regain that old form. He needs more time to work through his injury and trust his leg can once again take a hard shot. This is a mental hurdle he can come back from. Plenty of qbs have. Nichols has had the same battle in his career. We can afford Willy the rest of the season to sit and recover. We can revisit his contract in the offseason. We can allow him to battle for the starting position in training camp next year.
I hope this is how everything unfolds. This is how a classy organization would handle Willy.

Instead of trying to poke holes in my argument, you should try strengthening yours because it's full of holes at this point in time.
Drew Willy, in the past, has shown that he is capable of playing at a high level that is good enough to win football games. Drew Willy, in the recent past, has shown that he is also capable of struggling and playing poorly to the point that it is clearly not good enough to win football games.
He's done both. So why are you so hung up on the most recent body of work? Because it's a "what have you done for me lately" business? That's fine. And that's your prerogative. But it's not a solid argument.
Here's my argument: comparing Nichols and Willy right now is an apples-to-oranges comparison, because Willy has never had the one thing that Nichols has been handed that has been so beneficial to his success - a high performing offensive line. You can blame the offensive line struggles on Willy and it's certainly true that you'd be able to argue that at times, he has not helped their situation by clinging onto the ball too long. Was it a regular enough occurrence that it's worth considering as a major factor? Not in my opinion.
Compare Nichols 2016 to Nichols 2015 instead. Look how bad Nichols looked last year with the same personnel Willy was operating with. It was a clear cut case that Willy was the superior quarterback. Now here's the thing: you have to pick a side at this point. Either Nichols 2016 is looking a whole lot better because of the sudden reshuffling of the offensive line OR Nichols 2016 improved from Nichols 2015. Here's the tricky part for you as a Willy detractor: either one of those choices really shoots some holes in your argument.
If Nichols 2016 can be better than Nichols 2015, why can't Willy 2016 be better than Willy early 2016? It obviously can happen. Situations change. Circumstances change. Players can slump. Players can regain form. It's not a "one-and-done" business. And obviously the professionals believe that. So why don't you?
If that's not the side you choose to be on and you think Nichols is so much better this year because of the personnel surrounding him, then obviously it's difficult to write Willy off because he has yet to be given a chance to work with that very same personnel. The offensive line changes were the catalyst to our season. Nichols has not lit the world on fire, but the offensive line sure as heck has. So it stands to reason that Drew Willy, shellshocked nature and all, could very easily come back in and turn his opportunity with a revamped line into something that leads to him shaking that vacant look off and regaining the form that he's shown in the past.

Need I say that the teams we beat are .500 or less because we beat them? Or that we don't show a victory against Saskatchewan like other teams do? Or that other teams have played the same teams we beat...and lost? Or how come it doesn't matter that the other beat us when we played with one arm tied behind our back?
I'm happy where the team is, because this team put themselves where they are. Each team we played had the same chance to beat us as we did them. After all, weren't they playing a team with their back up QB in the game?
Smoke and mirrors? Nah, I don't smoke and I walk quickly past mirrors...

It seems like this has been a problem for a couple years. With multiple qbs, systems and play callers. We get, or start deep in enemy territory and end up settling for field goals. It made a first half against montreal much closer on the score board then it was on the field. But its been an especially troubling problem this year.
All three of our qbs specialize in short-medium passes. Our wrs are banged up, but we still have seen impressive play out of the young guys. And we have fast guys, and kohlert who has great hands.
Imop we could use a guy whose a psychical match up nightmare for fade routes in the red zone. Weve had success with that a hand full of years ago.
We could run some shovel pass, play action roll out etc to create seams in the defence.
Right now, with the level our special teams, and D are playing at we are knocking on the door of being an elite level cfl team. The ability to convert for majors and step on the throat of opponents is really the last big step for this team to make. We had a great late game drive to secure the game. It wasnt allways pretty but we made it work.

This team is totally reminding me of 1988 and 1990.  The offense was putrid but at least they didn't lose games with dumb turnovers.  Things would be looking bleak and then boom, a turnover/pick six and the game is turned right back around, just like last night.  Moe Leggett jumps the route to Lewis that Glenn had fallen into a trance throwing to (Glenn is pretty predictable, if something is working for him, he goes to that well over and over again) and the whole game just flipped right back the Bombers way.  I know some here keep saying "that's not going to happen every game".  Well no, but it sure seems to happen a lot, and as long as the D line is pressuring the QB you are going to get interceptions.  Which is why the 1980's Bombers defences were such ball hawks too.

Nichols gets no respect from the Drew Willy Mavens here who somehow feel he's been done an injustice by being benched. Not accusing you of being one JBR, I'm just saying there are a lot of comments that seem to suggest we're winning despite Matt Nichols & not because of him. So, I'm not singling you out at all. This is just for discussion purposes.
We've won 4 games in a row. We've given up one sack in the last two games. The guy has only thrown a single pick playing with receivers that normally would never play as they're backups at best. He's game managed well & all we've done is win. Nothing he does will ever satisfy them. Our last GC winning qb was a journeyman who played in at least 3 CFL cities during his career. Matter of fact he never saw the field the year before in the GC being the backup qb for Kent Austin. No one ever thought Tom Burgess was ever good enough to win the GC. Yet he did for us.
Let's just enjoy the ride here & give the man his due. Nichols is doing a great job as the field general out there. Nothing flashy like Mike Reiley. However, the players like & believe in him, We're winning, our defense is playing lights out ball hawk, our ST's are humming & that should be good enough for us all.

People tend to have unrealistic expectations with the quarterback position. Make no mistake Matt Nichols has been part of the reason we're on a four game winning streak. He's taking care of the football. One INT in the past four games, and he's moving the ball around well. Completing 71 percent of his passes this season. With the way our defense and special teams are playing he simply doesn't NEED to push the ball down field more. He needs to protect the football, and eat up that TOP. Two things he's done a great job doing, plus when it really mattered he drove 90 plus yards down the field which set up a Harris touch down.

I don't feel sorry for him one bit.  After years of watching the Bombers get ripped off by bad calls, non-calls, & phantom calls, it's par for the course.  Look at how officials let TO's oline resort to holding Westerman by the facemask in the last game.
Bowman is also a vet and seems like an otherwise good character guy.  When he lost his cool he also forgot that it's the retaliation that gets called way more often than not.
