Demski obviously adds a speed element that Petermann doesn't have, but Lapo seems to try to use Demski as a possession receiver for some reason and Petermann is much better suited for that role.

I think we will see the game slow down for Strev in the next few weeks and a switch will go on. 
I think We can win it all with Strevs.

You know, I've defended Ripper in the past, but lately, he's coming across more and more as just another douchy Rider fan here to troll and cause trouble.  It may be time for him to revisit why exactly he feels a need to post here, considering there is already a site where green douches abound.  I'm sure he knows where that is.

Give me a break. It's absolutely nothing like skating with your head down in the neutral zone. The only somewhat accurate comparison would be a RB with the ball running with the head down. If you want to make a hockey comparison, it would be a goalie outside his crease getting plowed over with his head down looking for the puck. 

It wasn't within the spirit of the rule at all and that's why we've rarely (if ever) have seen this happen until now. All this did was force the league to make the rule black and white so this never happens again. 

It was a cheapshot 10000%. Dickenson even said so. 

the Riders are trash...they barely beat our back-ups. By far the most overrated team in the league. **** everything about that team. I'm not sold on Streveler yet, but I hope he hangs 40 on them this week and we just ******* pummel them. 

True....but in that game to close out the 2nd quarter there was a series of plays, resulting in basically a 6 point swing where you could say the game was lost...and essentially was due to a ticky tack hold...and a non hold...around the 3:25 mark Streveler had a nice QB keeper...had us in field goal range but was called back for a hold on Gray.
Now go watch it if you have it PVR'd..He was drive blocking..square on the DT basically with a pretty standard block you see all game..hands inside the shoulders...not off to the side...didn't pull guy anyway whatsoever..just continued his block and pushed the DT back...standard stuff...but took us out of range and we punted.
Then on the Sask drive...around 2:25 or so when they missed that deep shot to Moore...you can hear "hold" being yelled...but no call....re-watch it...Biggie is blitzing...Right Tackle grabs him and basically tackles/pulls him to the ground..right in plain view of 2 officials...text book hold which is always called....but nope....would have pushed them back...made it 1st and 20 and good chance we make them punt before they stalled in FG range and got their 16th point..now how was that not called?...it was an edge play and not obstructed, and was a focal part of the play too as being a blitz hard not to watch that part of the line.
The funny part was Doofus Suitor's narrative about that..and what went on as he commented on the hold being vocalized on the field.
If's and's or but's be damned...that was a pretty critical series of events that played a major role in games out come

first time watching Ritchie Hall call a D? either blitz or drop way back, that happens all the time with him. He gives up the short underneath passes by design.

We should get Streveler to do this to Craig Dickenson.

Bucks being groomed. Just like Younger as DC. Eventually u gotta stop recycling the same old and give new blood a shot. 

Streveler is fine, Lapo is the problem here. That game plan to start the game was abysmal. That's the knd of stuff you give to Nichols not Streveler. 
Lapo wasting the first quarter before starting to call proper plays and Ritchie Hall and his give up D at the end are what caused the loss. That Sask team is as garbage as I thought they were, but our idiot coordinators gave it away.

1) I usually feel that Lapo takes it on the chin here in ways that often don't make a lot of sense to me...BUT, I have to admit that I was quite mystified by the fact we didn't try to establish the run early or get Strev rolling out given his strengths and current limitations.
2) Overall, Strev is developing just fine; weird throwing motion aside, I still feel he likely has a higher ceiling (maybe significantly higher) than Nichols.
3) Specifically, loved his ability to hang on to the ball when blasted inside our 5-yard line; amazed he didn't fumble which would have led to 7 pts for Sask.
4) Also loved his ability to lead us on what should have been a game-winning drive late. Nichols has struggled with that by comparison in recent seasons.
5) That said, I am not smart enough to assess how Nichols would have done overall in that game, nor do I feel the need to slag him in comparison to Strev. Seems to me that his passing is, right now, more effective than Strev's, esp the deep ball, but Strev is a lot younger and needs time to develop and he will if the Bombers give him the chance. As Colin observes, Nichols has also been very good at protecting the ball (not throwing picks) and not making mistakes like the intentional grounding. That said, Strev will learn from those missteps, I think, and should close the gap in those areas over time.
6) Finally, I am old enough to remember how the Eskimos handled the emergence of Warren Moon as an understudy to Tom Wilkinson. They shared playing time, more and more, until Moon eventually took over. I think O'Shea needs to be less hesitant to use the hook with Nichols when - after 3 quarters - he is clearly struggling. That has also continued to be mystifying.

And went into LD and lost by 2 without Harris and Nichols.

Quality post Colin. I liked the point about our pass blocking. Young o-line in the middle and an injured Hardrick, not to mention the experience of Andrew Harris blocking... And you can kind of see what's been going on. Makes total sense. Nichols would have been blasted behind the pass blocking streveler has been getting

Nobody tries to pass from the pocket as much as the Bombers with either QB, and the Bombers have the worst passing offense in the league.  Could be a coincidence, but I think the scheme is a problem.

Wish we had more spots for these guys. He was an immediate impact, causing Rios’ pick six. Was so fun seeing him proudly say “I was sitting on my couch three days ago”, I thought he’d get to stick around and be a Bomber.
