He also had several mishandled catches that popped into the hands of waiting DBs. Inexcusable when you consider the balls are coming from Nichols who doesn't exactly throw rockets.

How many touches did he have?

Well hopefully our new o-line can block cause Nichols aint getting any faster and I cant count how many times last year the line gave him tons of time yet he got happy feet and still ate a sack. Losing Goossen and Chung isn't making me feel better about Nichols' 2019 outlook.

Yeah, that's a lot. IMO Banks is the best receiver in the CFL, and he just signed for <$200k.

Losing 4 Canadian starters will be devastating. Expecting Gray and Couture to step in and provide a seamless transition to the league's former best O-line is not realistic. We will have lost a significant amount of national depth with the departure of Chungh on top of Loffler, Goosen, Corney and Demski.
I will be disappointed if we lose Chungh and Walters is incapable of bringing in any decent national players as starters to compensate.
$225 for Ellingson is ridiculous given his season last year. Not sure he is the guy I would want here as a number 1. Walker would be far more attractive. Then again, given our Qb it might not matter.

No, cut nichols base salary first. He won't have any options to make the same salary elsewhere anyways.

Even when Nichols completed a pass today, it forced the receiver to hit the dirt and made it impossible for them to make a play. He was absolutely terrible.

The details of the stadium deal were shall we say less than ideal. However, the former government did get the Bombers a new stadium. Imagine if they had only agreed to limited finding...say $25 - $50 million to do a reasonably modest patch job on the old stadium (as Brodbeck suggested). That would have bought the team 10 - 15 years at most as parts of the stadium were already having significant integrity issues - something a cheap patch job would not fully alleviate. Unlikely the new PC government would have given the Bombers much needed funds to construct a new stadium given current austerity measures...and before you know it the Bombers would be having another stadium crisis in the 2020s.

We also have a quarterback who can't pass with any confidence so it's making most of our receivers pretty useless.

I know our D has been good lately but I didn't fully think we had this in the bag until 9 minutes left in the game. I figured Mike Reilly would pull off some miracle and our D wouldn't be able to keep it up all game.
Boy was I wrong. This was a defensive gem.

well, it was part of the issue. He was trying too hard to make plays the following games. He was rattled and took that personally. I agree it shouldn't affect him, he is a pro- but it did and led to those turnovers that were the difference in both games. How is that a stretch?

Good teams find a way to win. Riders defense has been good to dominant for most of the season. Their special teams are up there with the best in the league. Meanwhile the Bombers offense has been below average for most of the season while the defense outside a few games against weak teams has been 6th or 7th best in the league. Special teams has also been mediocre. Hence, our sub.500 record.
