I'm more concerned about what other teams are doing and not who else is doing squat. When you are on the bottom you should be fighting harder to get in the game than anyone else. I am wide awake!

Really dangerous player can line him up just about anywhere creates a lot of mismatches.

Haha... ease away from the ledge... when there is something newsworthy to be leaked I'm sure we will hear about it. As far as announcements are concerned, it's been suggested that some guys are probably collecting every last penny from their current team before they move on to their next team.

Nothing wrong with a person making a sound career decision. Make the wrong choice and it can follow you around. Scott Arniel goes to a bad team in Columbus and bingo. Way back when Mike Riley went to the Chargers as HC and that was a nightmare. It's like people who criticized some people who didn't care to interview for th a bomber HC job. Ultimately you have to do what you think is a sound move and not just jump on something that may not be in your or your family's best interest. It is disappointing when "fans"can't respect that.

I love how you can actually watch this thread go from 'Stublers awesome' when we thought he was our new DC... to Stubler's 'fat and sucks'.

Aren't you one of the ones that keeps telling people to stop assuming and making up theories or is that just Mr. Dee?
 
Seriously, why would you come here and freeze your ass off millions of miles away from your family instead of going to Calgary where you're near your family and the totally awesome mountains?  The guy probably has grandkids.  And if so, ain't no way grandma is going to let grandpa move them that far away from them.

Not to mention much better job security and much more potential for career advancements....

Right. So a DC for a college team making high 6 figures a year (plus his kids getting a free college education) is going to head north for 150K?
 
Money isn't everything but its the biggest thing.

They are a little bit different but yeah you're right they are the same philosophy. Make teams make 10+ plays to score. I think Marshall is a bit less adaptable than Stubler which leads to his defenses not having as long a shelf life. 

Name recognition does wonders for people ... I'd rather have a guy like Figeuroa .. he's an absolute beast, a guy with a mean streak .. and had a great first season with the TiCats .. easily better than anything January has done the past few years ..

January, at best, is a journeyman .. the fact he's the most reliable offensive lineman on our roster speaks more to our overall lack of talent along the offensive line than it does his ability.

Jones: C

Pencer: TBD
Swiston: D
Douglas: C

January may have been our best O-Lineman, but we're rating him against the league.  As an Import tackle, he is in the middle amongst his peers. C.  I don't believe that at present, we have an above-average lineman. 
 
Think there is potential in Jones, Greaves, Neufeld, Pencer, and to some degree Swiston.  If we can get one A out of the group and 3 B's; this O-Line would be a top-3 CFL group; and we'll be immensely better for it.  I'd say Swiston tops out as a C level player, but the rest can rise to B or better.
 

You're completely discounting the fact that Calgary is a perennial contender with a solid GM and front office framework in place. 
 
Winnipeg has a decade-long track record of being cheap and having a highly dysfunctional front office. For Cripes sake, we just blew the entire thing up! 
 
So excuse a tenured coach like Stubler for not playing "crapshoot" with his career. 
 
You gotta earn respect and being a desirable place where established, experienced coaches want to be. We have the systems in place to get that reputation again but it won't be this year or the next. And it won't come just by having a nice stadium or believing were the "most passionate fans" blah blah. 
 
Run this club like a successful business for 3 years and the see the kind of coordinators that suddenly start showing up. 

Yeah, I'd take crabs over syphillis and gonorrhoea too. 

Replacing Palardy with Sandro was one of the weirder decisions of the past year.  

Maas has been in the CFL now for about 12 years, hasn't he? I think he has as good a handle on offense as Khari, Marcus Brady or Bob Gibson does. 

There's also Al Bradbury. He's a young official & seems to be doing an alright job.

Good for him.  It's good to see a player making his own decisions. I really appreciated his hard work, and his devotion to specialty teams.  I also enjoyed seeing his "Canada Corner" in the locker room.
 
All the best to him in the next chapter in his life.

He was a dedicated and consummate professional on and off the field.

Screw the haters he was a great guy for this team. 

I guess we could actually wait and see if taman is over the cap before passing judgement... Ha

so far i agree with literally everything the WBB have done this off season and all i can do is hope that you guys screw it all up by taking Khari.
