  1. Perhaps Elliott might flourish under a system that actually puts a QB in a situation to succeed. You think Wally kept Elliott around to be a good guy. Not really Wally is that ?
  2. Not sure what tree you think the long snappers grow on. Matechuk got cut here before the season because he was 250 and couldn't run. He then went to Sask and got cut. Cronk launched a long duck in BC and chunking Matechuck was the guy they harps to call. Start aiming at the garbage can in the backyard...u may earn a job
  3. Chris Jones said he promised not to blitz....he didn't want to get anyone upset at him and spoil his chances as the Bomber HC and GM job on a couple of weeks
  4. When the HC indicates there were numerous mistakes in every aspect of the game people still want to throw it all on Buck. Morley isn't even a speed bump out there and Buck gets blamed for holding the ball? Max protection has turned into double cover and blanket receivers.
  5. Then is he finally going to sit Morley? Coaches have a security blanket playing vets. LaBatte started as a rookie not because he should have but because Fat Boy Sheridan was hurt. Other teams start rookie OL but this team seems challenged with the concept. Are you better to suffer some growing pains with a rookie with upside or a Morley who constantly gets turnstiled?
  6. Agreed if the receivers aren't where they should be on designated patterns stop hanging it all on the QB.
  7. Perhaps people should re evaluate the system. This is reminiscent of Mike Kelly burning through a stable of QBs with similar results and then trying to make Bishop into a pocket passer. Clearly not one of Bishop's assets and another failure. That group of QBs said Payton Manning would have failed in that situation. The difference being he would not have stood for it and people would have listened.
  8. With Crowton and this offence the leading receiver will be the ball boy at practice. There should be a minimum number to qualify in this category.
  9. Be nice to Bob he's Buchko's buddy and I'm sure he wants to stay in the good books. Bob also think that Mack rules. So we know where he stands on the state of the union.
  10. How do you say we knew Goltz was the guy when you have cut all your other experienced QBs being limited but kept Buck and declared him as the guy. If you can spin that spin me some cotton candy
  11. Playing Goltz might be the right thing to do but that would mean Mack, Burke and Crowton would have to swallow the mistake of keeping Buck.
  12. Pierce didn't design the offence. Either design a system to meet the skill set of your players or the NFL mentality is find players to fit the system. Heads up Mack, Burke and Crowton..... Your offensive system isn't utilizing your athletic abilities. Get your resumes ready boys. You will be hitting the bricks
  13. Deciding what to do with FAs will be a serious challenge . If they don't get NFL looks the Ottawa threat will make them wait and test the market and drive up the $ for everyone.
  14. I guess one game in does add a year to your vet status? Some carrier back ups an ST guys, Douglas hanging on and injured all last year. I stand corrected...not.
  15. Good call Noeller. It's like having your safety being the leading tackler..yikes. It's nice to see those tackles by the guys in the box limiting gains.
  16. Historically early in the season they say the edge goes to the defence. They react to a situation while the offence is expected to execute a designed play relying on critical timing and decision making. Let's revisit this topic when teams have had the opportunity to "tune up" their offence.
  17. Well you seem to think O line play is something you can singularly define in isolation. I don't agree. When Danny McManus play did he have the best o line or was part of their success a result of him having one of the quickest releases in the game. Hold the ball...get sacked...a result of a poor QB with a slow release and slow decision making or a poor o line?
  18. That was directed to all the homers that don't seem to enthralled by my posts. Frankly Scarlett I don't give a damm. You can either not read them or continue what you do and follow me and any media you don't like. So be it. The media don't care what you think either...they ar just happy you continue to follow them. I remain yours truly....a student of the game and therefore not a fan.
  19. I enjoy watching well schemed and well executed football in the CFL. I don't really care what team it is or who is playing. If that offends people that want to be fans and cheerleaders....well so be it. If you think what you watch is well schemed and well executed so be it. You are entitled to your believe, as am I. I will be the first to admit I am not a fan of any team. I am a devoted supporter and follower of CFL football.
  20. Excuse with accuse? Call it what you like you are a living witness to the result. That is the problem when you think being a fan is being an objective thinker. There is no fan in objectivity.
  21. Finding talent is one thing. Building a team is completely different. Constantly rotating bodies thru an organization does not built continuity or a sense of team amongst players. You need a cohesive unit that believe they are a part of something, working towards a common goal. This holds for a team be it sport or business.
  22. Gee you make it sound like it doesn't happen to other teams. Screens and draws are effective counter plays to combat an overly aggressive pass rush. How many of them did you see called last game? Crowton is clueless to the CFL game. I don't care who the O line is with him calling plays.
  23. I would say until any team EARNS some degree of what people deem positive media what exactly do you expect. Fans are fans media report. It's like people have often excused the officials of being biased against the Bombers, my responses was don't confuse inept with bias.
