A well run slant is impossible to cover in the CFL. It makes me sick to watch Rogers run them time after time and then cut to the Bombers running straight curls over and over followed by the odd fly.

I hope they give Corey Lewis a shot, not Devin Tyler.

I do feel bad for the guy. The guy did not ask to be traded from the redblacks, and didn't sign in Calgary. He was one team's MOP candidate and not getting a chance to play now.
He misses out on bonus money, because he's not dressing and not collecting stats. I'm sure his NFL dreams aren't dead either. Now he's not getting the chance to put some action on film for teams to see, decreasing his odds to catch some attention.
He's tried to do things behind the scenes but no luck, now he's taking it public to hope fore a better result. I too would be pissed if my employer sent me to another company where I wasn't being used properly and am now earning less money because of it.
I don't know much about him, but he's got to do what he's got to do to put food in his family's mouths.
A bit different than Grigsby in my opinion. This guy can play on any team in the league, can't say the same for Grigsby.

The Hurl thing again?
 
The last 4 games I've seen live I've kept an eye on him to see what he's doing wrong, and as far as I can tell it's being called a middle linebacker.  People need to stop pretending this is a Greg Marshall defence.  It isn't, and Hurl isn't playing the role of Barrin Simpson.  There was a play on Friday where he ended up lining up on the outside hip of the cornerback.  He's often ten yards off the line of scrimmage and over the tackle.  He can be found in locations like that more often than three yards back and over center.
 
This is where Hall is putting him and how he's using him.  Call him a rover if it makes it easier to accept.  If he whiffs on a tackle then he whiffs on a tackle, but most of the griping seems to be about how he is failing to excel at being the next Muamba, and from what I've seen that is not his assignment in this defence.  Run thru the A gap and destroy what's in front of you isn't what they're asking him to do.

I was critical of Hurl early on, but think he's played significantly better as of late. I think a big part of his poor play was scheme and how he's actually used. The whole D has played better all around lately.
I think I would rather put an international at receiver or DB before doing it with Hurl. Our offense needs more hell so I'd lean more to receiver.

Not sure I want to mess with our D the way it's been playing lately.  Who backs up Bass if he gets hurt?  Waggoner?  If Bass went down Simmons would be great to have on the weak side or take over for Hurl and Waggoner plays the WIL.  I get the impression Simmons only wants to start, and fair enough.  The Riders might be a better fit, they could certainly use the help on D.  The only way I would like a trade for Simmons is if we could snag a high pick from Calgary (1st or 2nd) and that would mean losing a starting Nat OL.  Not that Greaves and Neufeld have played well but losing either one would mean Goossen starts and/or we bring in an Int OL to play the interior.  Which may be a good thing for us.  Would they take Picard?

You don't like how they act beat them. It's as simple as that. 

If the Bombers did that to teams, I'd hope we acted the same way. The TiCats have earned the right.

They say that behind every cloud lurks a silver lining, so I guess we're about to find out if that's true.  As other posters have stated, this injury gives the team the opportunity to face reality and find out for certain if their backup QB of the future resides "in house" or whether they have to keep hunting.
 
The ideal setup for building a contender is to duplicate what Cgy. has done with Mitchell and Tate and there is no better time to get started on that plan then the present.  Willy is no longer a young buck so the Bombers have realistically 4-5 years to make runs for the Cup upon his back.  If they can sustain a solid one-two punch at QB within that time frame their chances of actually winning a G.C. will increase significantly IMO.
 
The spot light is now fixed upon Brohm and Marve to show all if they can rise to the challenge.  They both deserve a chance as does Davis and with first team reps. during practice they will finally be given a fair opportunity to perform.

Lol. Chipman? Seriously? These guys are loyal to a fault. Don't kid yourself there. Mark Chipman has no clue about football. Fact is if he wanted the bombers he'd already have them. Sorry but a private owner can't stop your QB from being injured. Chipman eh. No pav buy out. Hire Noel over better candidates. Don't kid yourself

They can and do happen in a game, but they are preventable. Block the lineman better and make sure he can't get his hands up to block the pass. Block better when punting, don't let the other team get a hand on the ball. Always be aware on kickoffs. Stoudemire said they we're fooled because Medlock normally kicks to the other side of the field when he lines the ball up where he did.Yes all that can happen, I just believe that good teams that are well coached don't let all three happen one after the other.

No matter how Willy will be I don't think it would be good to talk about a new regime. However, it's bloody well time to talk about the responsibility these coaches and players have to prepare and play better in protecting him. 

Exactly! The games we have been crushed have come against physical teams. In my eyes the Bombers are soft and zero push back.
I truly hope that we can be on the other end of one of these games sometime soon, it's been too long.

Also Veltung adds some much needed speed. The guy is a burner for sure. Bombers seem to be lacking in the team speed department and Veltung over JFG or Bastien or whichever CDN he would replace definitely adds more speed out there.
