I went crazy with the in-the-moment grey champion t-shirts and caps... when the royal blue championship stuff appeared, I just rolled up my sleeves, clicked the mouse a bunch of times and got ‘er done... again!

I ordered the gray hat that the store first posted. To me, it's not even really about the design, I want the same swag our boys were wearing while they drank out of Earl Grey's mug.

As much as I was expecting them to fail completely with the ad hoc HC and loss of their starting QB on the third play of the regular season... they did a pretty (it kills me to say this) job this year. 

There's really not a lot of griping going on here. We're discussing what we should do with this roster going forward. Nichols is a soon to be 34-year old with a significant throwing shoulder injury. Pretending like he's a must-sign and we are guaranteed success with him going forward is arguably a more ridiculous take than the alternative. 

That’s a good way to lose a lot of the shine we’ve built as a program players want to come to - in a hurry.

Thinking the Bombers are better off without Matt Nichols is hardly an insane take, and plenty of people far smarter than me have the same opinion. Though I will admit now that they have won the cup, I’ve softened my stance on being desperate to get rid of him since there’s less urgency now. I appreciate the argument that we would have gotten more or less the same production out of Nichols that Collaros gave us and from a yards perspective, that’s probably true. But the pocket movement and awareness that Collaros has is miles better. Still, the defence was beyond dominant in all three games so yes, we more than likely win even with below average QB play. 
 
Still, Nichols is and always will be a QB that requires the rest of the team to do more or less everything right to be successful. And it’s very good timing that he joined this team just as the rest of the roster was starting to take shape. With a recent championship taking the pressure off, I don’t see a ton of long term benefit of sticking with a guy that has basically no upside, will be handed the starting job and be given an insanely long leash. 

I like the way Collaros reads the field , is able to buy time and feather a long pass in under the appropriate situation. He's for sure into the check down game when there is tight or overman coverage. I just really like his poise and command of the field. The only scary part is his concussion history.

Also cut Nichols now ... who cares if he gets pissy about the money... I'd rather save the money and risk losing him and moving on with McGuire and Strevs. 

Lol at people thinking the teaching job is some big roadblock.  Come on now.    
I like how LaPolice has roots in Winnipeg because of his wife but he's freely going to coach somewhere else... however Collaros wife has a teaching job that pays less then 100 000 and no way in hell would he re sign in Winnipeg.    These boards at times can be very riderfans-esque. 
Jeeze I guess every single American player will never sign with Winnipeg because it would be way to far for them to be away from their wives and family.  
Collaros will sign where ever he gets the best offer,   I think O-line may play a bit of a deciding factor.    But if Winnipeg offers 450 and Toronto offers 600....  the guy is going to take the money.  
 
 

Those that don't believe we would have done as well, or would have even made the final with Nichols..... those people are glad that we will never know what Nichols may or may not have done.  The season worked out pretty much perfect just the way it did. 

I said as soon as Collaros signed that what he gave us was "A healthy Matt Nichols"....it's a guy that can come in and run the exact playbook we ran under Matt...with Strev back to running his specialty package. It's exactly what we got and it couldn't have worked out better. But absolutely, with the D we had, we would have done exactly as well with Nichols under centre...

Add me to the list of people who think ZC and MN are basically interchangeable. Outside of his ability to scramble a bit better then Nichols they're basically the same. I don't by the Collaros has a stronger arm, Nichols was 2nd in the league for deep passes when he was playing. Our game plans and half time adjustments were more to blame with the lack of O then the person behind centre for the most part.

Saying that, I wouldn't mind if they signed ZC and Streveler. I also wouldn't mind if they went with Matt and Streveler. I would be very disappointed if they weren't able to re-sign Streveler though.

Like I said...teaching job ...vs. a lucrative contract....no contest...AND teaching jobs aren't that secure anymore...especially what you hear going on in Ont.
