Yesterday on CBC radio they played the interview of the current mayor of Calgary, Jyoti Gondek for her reaction to the Freeland=Grande Prairie incident. She related an incident when she attended an all-candidates debate when running for the mayor's office. Just prior to the debate, as she was waiting in the hallway, a man came up to her, put his face right into hers and said that he knew where she lived and that he would never allow her to become mayor. She was rattled but went into the debate and di well enough to win, but this man sat in the front row the whole time staring at her radiating anger and hatred at her. She has received threats since winning, and every morning before she goes out, she checks out front before opening the door, sets her alarm and makes sure every window is closed and locked before leaving. When the internet outage happened a couple of months ago, her alarm system did not work, so she stayed home. Apparently this sort of harassment is common for women in politics in Canada.
Very sad, but it takes only  small number of malicious idiots to create these sort of problems.

When you watch these post game speeches when time after time after time Saleh has been propping up Strevy, there is no way he retains any credibility with his team if Strevy isn't on it. Look at the excitement of his team mates, this guy is on the team and hopefully sees some game action and shoves some balls up the a$$es of the doubters and haters. Has their been anyone that works harder for so little? Not that I know of.
 

From all accounts, Flacco is going to be the opening day starter but based on what he has left in the tank, the Jet's would be better off rolling with White while Wilson is out.   All that to say, if Streveler doesn't make that roster in some capacity, it will be a damned travesty.  That kid has EARNED a spot.

They basicly campaigned say I g they would keep whatever they wanted ( things that would benefit them) and toss whatever they didnt want. As if it would be their choice alone.  And people bought what they were selling. The other massive issue was what would have happened on 1st nations. I distinctly remember The head of the Northern Chiefs saying " Nobody is telling us what country we belong to " .A yes vote would have been one hell of a disaster.

Speaking of free speech, they need to create a new law that charges obtuse offenders with public harassment in cases like this, and they need to enforce it to send the message that we are a civil society.  I don't care if there is jail time associated with a conviction or not, but make sure the fine is at least $3000 so the morons get the message that harassment and intimidation will not be tolerated.

And the politicians condemning this behaviour need also to say this isn’t a case of having differing political platforms. This is wingnut behaviour not associated to any sane political beliefs. 
They don’t hold political beliefs. They are against everything that doesn’t think, feel and look like them.

It's the same mentality as down South. " My freedoms ! My rights ! What ever I want is a right !"  But the wants,  freedom and rights of everyone else don't count and should be squashed with a Jackboot. 

I don’t think that’s an exaggeration. Garland has to understand this. If he thinks he needs to delay the indictment because of the midterms he is not accepting this is a completely different game with different rules. Keeping intact his individual legacy by thinking you need to play by normal rules (not influencing an election because of an ongoing investigation) on these wingnuts is not going to end well.

If Garland doesn’t indict him, precedent set, free for all.

Like many far right Christians he is pulling statements out of the old testament and new testament when it suits him. If you follow the old testament word for word you would have to totally ignore the New Testament. Nevermind all the books and passages that have been dropped. A great exercise for most of them would to be to spend some time reading both testaments , beginning to end. Then  try work out an idea of what being a Christian really means.
