Because Dan West has no idea how to take an angle and it makes him useless as a safety

I'm annoyed that with our lack of Canadian defensive back depth we didn't get Ryan Hinds.  He didn't pan out as a starting corner for Hamilton but guaranteed he would be better depth than Dan West at safety and would have pushed Cauchy as well.

There's more to kickoffs than simple gross distance.  Placement and hang time are also important.  The better way to measure the aptitude of the guy doing the kickoffs is the net distance (gross distance minus return distance).  And if you look at that, DeAngelis is at 42.8 and Palardy is at 36.6.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have released import receiver Isaac Anderson and non-import kicker Justin Palardy.

I think its possible for them to be competitve (7-9 wins, possible playoff spot) next year. Saskatchewan (from 2011-2012), and Calgary (2004-2005) are recent examples. However man do we need work.

Quite obvious again this game that we are getting no penetration from our tackles, they are not getting any push back into the QB's face and they have all day to stand in there. Bring in some beefy tackles who can push the pocket back if you're only going to continue to rush 4. Insane just doing the same thing every game expecting it to work out differently.

Wait until January, we may be able to get Trestman if he bombs out in Chicago.

I'm expecting a high scoring offensive game, or a low scoring defensive battle!

I think if we kept Bishop over Pierce, we'd have been in a much better situation currently.

Simply because Bishop's sucking is much more obvious than Pierce's. In a perfect world, we never would have signed Pierce and we would've recruited a different starting QB by now.

In my opinion, if we had stuck with Michael Bishop in 2010 instead of signing Buck Pierce, this team would be in a better situation right now.

What we really need is the athleticism and arm of Goltz, and the accuracy, intelligence and savy of Hall. Maybe we could get the "mad genius" Crowton back, and he could transmutate Hall and Goltz in his laboratory. Maxtin Haltz anyone?

I think Pierce would probably look better in a more familiar offence, but you just gotta move on now that we have the chance.  Hall's already in, no reason to rock the boat now.

This is why Chris Williams is sitting out the season.

I think the better point of that article and the article in the Sun on the weekend was the fact that the current governing process of the WFC is significantly flawed and needs to be dismantled.

Laugh all you want at the shares.  Since the Riders adopted the Packer model in the early 2000s they have been among the most successful CFL franchises after being a laughingstock for decades prior.  The Packers are clearly one of the most successful pro franchises in North America in the smallest market.

The big problem here is that there is no accountability for the board.  Private owner, Jets for example, their accountability comes from the fact that if they don't run a good business and team, they'll lose money.  Riders and Packers, if those board members don't stay in the lines, they won't be board members for long.  Here they just do whatever with only the board members keeping each other accountable, and they spend "community" money.

You're missing the point.  No member of the board of directors should be meddling in day-to-day football or even business operations.  Asper has shown in the past that he oversteps his boundaries as a board member and this report pretty much confirms that he has not learned his lesson.

His role in the construction of the stadium is irrelevant.  He is not the owner.  He is not the CEO.  He should not be involved in the day to day operation of the club.

He has a developmental QB, named DeMarco.  And I think it speaks volumes that DeMarco is ahead of the far more experienced Elliott on the depth chart.  Elliott is the emergency veteran QB that smart teams like to employ.  He's proven he can run an offence to some degree, but I'd be surprised if Buono has any kind of long term plans for Elliott.
