Definitely should not have still been playing in 2013 for sure. When Trestman walked to the NFL Calvillo should have pulled the plug. All he did last year was unnecessarily endanger himself in a broken system. And his childish behavior while walking off the field after yet another two and out didn't win him any points either. This retirement is a year or even two years too late.

No definitely not, but I can't call Calvillo the best anything when he was gifted an easy division and STILL choked as often as he did in the playoffs. That many Grey Cup appearances he should have won a lot more than he did and his failure to do so is a giant black mark on his career. 

Only because he wasn't good enough to play NFL. Flutie, Dickenson and possibly Ray are better QBs with shorter track records...

He isn't ruining the thread at all. Free agency hasn't happened, neither has the draft, and our coaching staff isn't complete, nevermind potential trades that may or may not happen not only between us but other teams as well. It's a valid point.

what we know now isn't much, certainly not enough to make any kind of expectations for the team. What if they trade for Ricky Ray before the season? That dramatically changes expectations. Until I see the coaching staff and who is going to be at quarterback there is no point in talking about expectations. 

I don't think Howell can be judged properly by the mess that the entire team was. Need a better all-around offense to judge it properly...

They also went out and addressed the offensive line this offseason a well.  Through 15 games last season , the Bears had given up 56 sacks .. going into last night they'd only given up 24.  When you have time to set up, those fundamentals don't slide nearly as much .. I only make this note because it's an area where the Bombers also need to improve ..protecting the QB

Suggesting Ottawa takes kickers ... in a round where choosing kickers is not allowed.

lol @ being upset over losing an import WR. Miles coulda been solid, but finding a replacement should be just about the easiest thing for our brain trust to do. Not concerned...

disappointed to lose miles, he showed some real potential last year but on the other hand receivers are pretty straightforward to find.
